Duke Nukem Forever's multiplayer modes have been revealed via scans from the Official Xbox Magazine, confirming Dukematch, Team Dukematch, Capture the Babe and Hail to the King as the four different game types you'll be indulging in when the game launches.
8 players will be supported, offering focused 4v4 multiplayer battles between Dukes in red and blue shirts. Dukematch and Team Dukematch are self-explanatory deathmatch modes, while Hail to the King is Duke's name for King of the Hill and Capture the Babe is a variation on the good old capture the flag mode, as your team is tasked with grabbing the opposing team's babe and dragging her back to your base. She'll squirm and freak out as you try and capture her, meaning that you'll need to give her a 'gentle smack' to calm her down. Erm...
There'll be a total of ten maps available from launch, including a remake of Dukeburger that has miniature Dukes running around a gigantic world, the old west town of Morningwood and a Las Vegas casino stage. There's a variety of weapons confirmed too, including the pistol, shotgun, ripper chaingun, pipebomb, RPG rocket launcher, shrinker, railgun, freezer, devastator and trip bomb. The jetpack will also show up on certain multiplayer maps, although it won't feature in single-player.
Multiplayer will feature an XP system to level up and customise your own Duke too, with steroid-fuelled one hit kills, stealthy Holoduke kills or funny pipe bomb suicides granting bonus points. Sounds pretty good to us.
