WWE All Stars Getting Free Honky Tonk Man DLC in April
Written By
View author's profile

As a result of reaching the sharing goal in THQ's WWE All Stars Fantasy Warfare Facebook application, the "cool, cocky and bad" (his words, not ours) Honky Tonk Man will be released as a free downloadable update sometime in April, bringing a little bit of 'Shake, Rattle and Roll' to WWE All Stars.

You'll also be able to take Honky Tonk Man into the game's Path of Champions mode (how's that for a segue?), which has you picking a wrestler to either take on the Undertaker, Randy Orton or Degeneration X stalwarts, Triple H and Shawn Michaels.

You can check out the mode in the new Path of Champions trailer below, but make sure to scroll down and see the Honky Tonk Man's entrance and finisher - the Shake, Rattle and Roll, - as well as a batch of new screenshots. You can check out all 14 pics in the gallery.

WWE All Stars is entering the ring on March 29th in North America and April 1st in Europe. Read our hands-on preview for more.

I like how theres wrestlers like Honky Tonk and Macho Man who havnt been in a game for AGES if ever!

Also, I hope theres a classic HBK costume. Not a fan of DX.

Played the Demo last night with a friend and it was kinda fun. The cartoony look doesn't take away from the game, it adds. It's a definite rental IMO.

Honky Tonk is a legend but good thing it's free. He wasn't the greatest and more of a gimmick. I would pay for The Mountee before HTM just for his rivalry with Big Boss Man. Either way, game LOOKS to be shaping up nicely. If it's a scoach better than Legends, I'm sold for the nostalgia alone. Miss the good old WWF. Not this atrocious media circus of "guests" like f'n Snooki. Plus, The Rock left purposely to pursue an acting career, which he's not too shabby at. McMahon must have begged or offered him a lot of extra zero's on a paycheck to return. Either way, here's hoping THQ gets their roots back.

@2 HBK does have his classic 'Sexy Boy' outfit. Watch the 1st video, you see it at least twice.

Shame Honky was absolutely abysmal in the ring. I'd love to see Rick Martel too. He was great. Shame a career-ending back injury cut his promising WCW run off far too early.

@ 12 - We need true original, charismatic, fan-adored Legends - Razor Ramon, Diesel, Road Warriors/Legion of Doom, The Junkyard Dog, Dusty Rhodes, etc.

Honky Tonk? Really? Even if he's a free dlc, the guy was a joke. I forgot who beat him in 30 seconds for in the belt (was it Ulimate Warrior? Can't remember). You know you're trash when you're beat out of the main event on the Sunday WWF show by the Brooklyn Brawler.

I have to admit the demo for this was really amazing. Never been into any of the WWE games since one of the games around 7 years ago now.

If they announced that the DLC would cost 160 MSP or something like that, I guarantee a lot of people would here would be crying about DLC not included in game...

i have a few things to say about this game. first the lack of wrestlers on the roster. we get only 30, with 12 as dlc. this brings me to my 2nd point.

wow talk about making money! seriously why not put those 12 wrestlers in the game?

also just played the demo & really didnt like the control setup this time.

i've enjoyed all wrestling games up to this one. i dont mind the arcade feel either. but lack of room to move around the ring & bad controls, really hamper this game.

as it stands, i love macho man. but its just not worth the steep price tag .

this'll be a pass & wait for cheap bins. maybe next time.

@18 £30- steep price tag? wow.....
42 wrestlers on a roster is pretty good-you don’t see that many on street fighter or marvel vs capcom

I am guessing Ted Dibiase for gamestop buyers is coming April 19 and probably July for everyone else like Bret Hart on Smackdown.
