Haemimont Games - the developer behind Tropico 3 and 4 - is working on The First Templar, a hack and slash adventure set in a historically accurate 13th century, where a conspiracy leads to a French Templar and a supposedly heretic noble lady becoming unlikely allies.
Featuring a quest to uncover the mysteries surrounding the Templar Order and the Holy Grail, The First Templar features two-player co-op, with the AI filling the void in single-player. A second player will be able to drop in and out at any time for a bit of slicey-dicey co-op action though, if they like.
This new trailer for The First Templar shows a bit of the game's story, as well as a glimpse of the swords and shields gameplay, which looks quite acrobatic and fast-paced. And there's a bit of stealthy neck-snapping, some ground stabbing and general sword-based violence too.
The First Templar is due to release in May 2011. Check out the video below.
