Capcom Cancels Mega Man Universe

Capcom has ceased development on Mega Man Universe, as announced on the game's official site today. The blue bomber had been scheduled to return in spring of this year, but that will apparently no longer be the case it seems.
The post on the Mega Man Universe web page cites "various circumstances" as the reason for the game's cancellation, which seems rather vague. However, we can't imagine that the departure of Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune helped the game's development going forward.
Announced last July following TGS, Mega Man Universe was to include various incarnations of Mega Man, as well as a stable of Capcom guest stars including Ryu. Players would have been able to create and share characters and stages too, as well as engaging in classic Mega Man platforming action.
