An interview with Ninja Gaiden 3 project lead Yosuke Hayashi in the April issue of Official PlayStation Magazine has revealed that the game is set to feature a multiplayer component of some description and it'll be "complex". Whether it'll be similar to Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2's online co-op on PS3 is unknown however.
Ninja Gaiden 3 will apparently be more accessible to new players too, but will still retain the same level of challenge that the series is renowned for. "We know that many fans feel good about the difficulty level, but we are taking a slightly different approach," said Hayashi. "It's not that the game is going to be easier - nothing like that. It's just that we are trying to make a whole game, a more exciting game that can be enjoyed by anyone, but at the same time, hardcore gamers will be able to feel and appreciate what the series is about."
Additionally, Hayashi confirmed that Ryu Hayabusa will be the only playable character this time around and that NG3's story "will focus more deeply on Ryu Hayabusa's life and lifestyle and feelings and thoughts." Ninja Gaiden 3 is supposedly set for a 2012 release.
