505 Games and developer NaturalMotion Games have announced today that a sequel to gridiron title Backbreaker - which saw retail release last year - will be coming to Xbox Live Arcade, bringing even more American football action in Backbreaker: Vengeance.
Taking its cue from the first Backbreaker and the popular 'Tackle Alley' mini-game, Backbreaker: Vengeance will deliver an all-new arcade twist on the Backbreaker formula, with heavy-hitting arcade action and bone-crunching tackles, as well as end-zone to end-zone swagger with no pre-canned animations.
“Backbreaker has caught the imagination of the world with its fresh approach to the sports genre. Backbreaker Vengeance for Xbox Live Arcade focuses on the aspects of American Football our fans love: incredible euphoria animations, gut-busting collisions, deceptive juke maneuvers and a pick-up-and-play feel,” said Torsten Reil, CEO of NaturalMotion. “This brutal spiritual successor to the beloved Tackle Alley will show gamers across the world that when it comes to delivering no-frills football action, Backbreaker: Vengeance is where it’s at.”
Backbreaker: Vengeance will be touching down and doing a little dance on XBLA in summer 2011. Check out the CG announcement trailer below.
