Despite failing to hit the right note with the critics, it appears that the Army of Two franchise did well enough at retail, as it could be that EA is looking to start work on a third title in the series, following up meatheaded co-op buddies Elliot Salem and Tyson Rios' previous adventures in Shanghai with Army of Two: The 40th Day.
A pair of job listings for the expanded Dead Space developer Visceral Games in Montreal (the developer now has studios in LA, Shanghai and Melbourne, as well as its original Redwood location) point towards an Army of Two sequel, as both are looking for fresh talent to join the team in working on the "Army of Two franchise". Seems pretty clear that Army of Two 3 could well be on the horizon then.
The job listings are after both a senior producer and a lead environment artist to join the team at Visceral in Montreal to work on what's referred to as a "multimillion selling hit." In response to the listing, EA representatives told GameSpot that "Army of Two continues to be a very important franchise. At this time, we have nothing to announce."
You can bet that if EA really does consider Army of Two to be a "very important franchise", we can expect to hear more about a third chapter in the series soon. Stay tuned!
