Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
More Pieces in the Assassin's Creed: Revelations Puzzle Fall Into Place
Written By
View author's profile

With the first glimpse of what could be Assassin's Creed: Revelations emerging on Friday, Ubisoft has officially activated the next AC game's teaser page on Facebook with a cryptic animus video gradually evolving over the past few days.

At present, the Facebook video (which can be viewed in its three distinct parts below) shows some script that flashes up briefly, before showing a wheel of symbols that we could never hope to decipher. Where's Indiana Jones when you need him?

The left hand side of the image shows some buildings that look distinctly Middle Eastern and you can also see the left arm of an unidentified assassin, bearing the trademark hidden blade, who may or may not be Altair. It looks a lot like the first Assassin's Creed, lending fuel to the speculation that Assassin's Creed: Revelations could be a return to Altair's tale in a similar template to that adopted by AC: Brotherhood.

For now however, all we can do is guess and speculate. To get the full Assassin's Creed reveal, you'll need to sign into Facebook and hit the 'like' button on the game's FB page and spread the word on Twitter or via email using the Assassin's Creed reveal app. You know what to do!

Altiar is a cool character, but I would like them to bring the storyline forward in time. That would be really interesting.

It would be nice to play as Altair again, but I really would like to see a new timeline and a new assassin.

I hope its not Altair. The setting was amazing, but as a character he was quite bland. After playing as Ezio it'll be difficult to go back to him.

I'm betting it's a woman this time. Hopefully in Victorian London. Leap of faith from St Paul's cathedral and Big Ben.

@ 8 - Kinda how I felt. I dug Altair as the brazen smug that he was but then Ezio gained major points.

1st video at the start, black screen up the top says failedtoloadeauditore.
Obviously Ezio, then it says restarting. Which leads me to believe it is Altair.

@8, put it this way, AC1 was Ubisofts first attempt at the series. After it was sort of a letdown they had to give the story aspect of the game a huge overhaul. Altair wasn't given much of a chance.

I love Ac one but they continued the story with Ezio Auditore da Firenze and first please make a end to his story and then make a new character but not go back in like in halo.
it's cool they make a new game but still I perferre AC 3.
don't make Prequel for AC and also for Halo just make AC 3 and Halo 4

I'd like to see a game bridges both characters. One minute you are playing as Altair, then you complete a task that affects what you need to do in a task with Ezio. I hope they bring back Phil Shahbaz as the voice of Altair.

@ 5 & 7 I agree it's about time to move forward...I don't understand the necessity to move backwards in time. I love AC but it appears Ubi is just milking it now. It's time for a new character and a new setting. Also, since Desmond has pretty much picked up all the skills as an assassin I just hope AC 3 mainly surrounds him and a team in 2012, perhaps a couple of stops in the Animus, but I don't think that should be a focul point in remaining the storyline.

@ 18 why are you talking about Halo on this AC message board? No one else has mentioned it?

I know what that wheel with symbols is, those are Linear A semisyllabic logograms, used by the ancient Minoan empire! Their civilization predated the Trojan war by almost one and a half thousand years. Their capital was located on a volcanic island known as Thera, which blew up in a apocalyptic eruption cirka 3637 years ago, destroying the city and possibly created the myth of atlantis!

the stone disk in the trailer is the disk of phaistos wich leads me to believe greece has something to do with it because the disk was found in Krete and where was the apple found in AC2? Yep: cyprus. Maybe Altair is going to Greece to find some ancient temple. Anyway, this is a must-buy for me!!!

If Altair being in this is true, I hope they actually make Altair more of an involving character that you can attach to like Ezio instead of just an assassin that was in AC1.

dunno about the whole arabic word thing, but I get the feeling that the computer text in the first video points towards subject 17 which if i remember right is desmond, so another grand ol' adventure in his ancestors lives. so it really could be anybody :|

The writing is Greek and the stone disk is as said above the "Disk of Phaistos" which most likely indicates this could take place Before Christ. Though that is just speculation.

I wish they finally ended the trilogy proper as I really want to see how it all pans out. They can do as many spinoffs and side stories as they can as long as the original plot is concluded. Such a disappointment as I was really looking forward to finding out what happens to Desmond:-(

In Ezio's profile (Database,People,Auditore Family,Ezio Auditore) is written this:
''We all must have been in a dream right now...''
Strange isn't?

for asscreed 3 it would be great for it to be set during the french revolution, one of the bloodiest periods in history. it'd be cool if it wasn't just in france as well but in england and maybe italy as well. i heard it might be set during the american revolution, i just hope they don't screw it up. thinking about it, both events (french rev and independence war) are pretty close; maybe a two part game?

@ 31 - That's basically his name. Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad (Arabic: الطائر ابن لا أحد)
Altair generally translates as "The Flying One/Eagle" and is a dirivitive of the brightest star in the constellation Aquila which also means Eagle. His last name, Ibn-La'Ahad literally translates as "Son of None".

They need too do an overhaul on this franchise. Brotherhood wasn't a bad game, but it was very boring and unoriginal. It was Assassins Creed 2.0. They better have different type of gameplay and different hero from the past.

@ 37 - Why? What's wrong with it? It really breaks down to personal preference and I think it's fine the way it is. Moreso let me ask, what exactly are you expecting in terms of changed gameplay? I can somewhat agree with a new protagonist but the way they shaped Ezio made him one of the most intricate characters to watch evolve and now I'd like to see that with Altair. It's much like how Isaac was a bland, silent errand boy in Dead Space and they managed to give him a personality, voice and purpose for the sequel. And TBH, Brotherhood opened up more for the franchise from it's additions. The tying in of using the MP as part of the SP story certainly sets up ideas for the finale or more spinoffs.

Possibly. There's a bunch of speculations. France is one due to the ending of Brotherhood with the symbol and events. Plus if they're doing the numbered lineage, it's going to advance in time so France or the present would seem right. AC3 HAS to pretty much involve Desmond gameplay for the most part. Just assumption tho. There's the story of the Russian assassin but that's being done via comic. There's much more to Altair and his past since we saw Ezio go from teen scamp to pimp assassin. Who knows. I just can't wait. This is one of my favorite franchises.

its definitely back to the crusades. if you notice how the assassin's hand is put into a fist with the blade still out and very much going through his hand, its obvious that its more primative. YES! ALTAIR FTW!

In the first video some of the strings end in .ark, so maybe the story is related to the Ark of the Covenant again?
But then again what can they do with the story? There was already a PSP game that showed Altair going to Cyprus with Maria after AC1, securing the apple and even writing the codex. And there was another one that served as a prequel. Maybe this game is a port of one of those, but with more gadgets/brotherhood stuff.

@45 That's what I don't understand if it is Altair again, his story's been pretty much finished in the handheld games, so there's really not a lot story wise they could add with Altair again

The new teasers shows Constantinople and gives the date 1459, which is during Ezio's lifetime (though long before Brotherhood.) Hmm, I wonder if it will be a mashup?

@47 true, 24/06/1459.... this is the date format we use here in Australia...

according to the AC wiki, Ezio is born on this date as per below link:

Can't people just chill? I mean, it's a game, relax. no need to bicker about not liking the game play or what not. I personally can't wait for this game, be it Altair or not. I'm guessing it is him, for the hidden blade is his from the first one I think. And that there are Arabic spelling? So I believe it's a hint towards the same time frame at least. Can't wait!
