View author's profile

We've got Deus Ex: Human Revolution previews coming out of our ears in these here parts for a reason, y'know. It's one of the year's most-anticipated games and one that we're tipping for greatness, so now is the time to sit up and start taking notice. How do we know this? Because we've played the first 10 hours of the game, which is roughly a quarter of the proposed final run time.

Don't worry though. We've got you covered with a huge preview, which you can check out in just a few moments. For now then, why not feast your eyes on a bionic armful of new screenshots straight from our extensive hands-on session with the game.

There's a total of ten brand new screenshots, hot off the presses for you to ogle in the gallery. Check them out, then be sure to mark Deus Ex: Human Revolution in your diary for August 23rd in North America and August 26th in Europe.

It's not often I get pumped up for a game that isn't Bioware made or doesn't have Assassin's Creed in the title, but this game is looking sweet. I had a previous one on the old xbox but never played it much, but this game is starting to look truly great and all I hear are good things.

@2 The best game ever. You missed out big time and if you ever have the chance I'd seriously recommend playing it. I was a bigger fan of the first Deus Ex than I ever was of the first Half Life just to put it in perspective.

@7 I see it was named best PC game of all time. Looks like I should def look into it. If I do play it would you recommend I play on the original xbox or the original PC version?

@8: Deus Ex 1 was PC only if I remember correctly. Deus Ex 2 was available for multiple platforms, PC, Xbox. You simply MUST play the first one as it's a nearly perfect game in terms of story (including some very surprising twists), narrative, gameplay (it is even today still considered a masterpiece of flawless gameplay awesomeness, seriously) and graphics (at the time). And while Deus Ex 2 unfortunately couldn't stand and live up to it's predecessor it is still a more than decent game compared to it's older brother and still a very good game compared to all other games available at the time. So if you can, play them both, if you don't have enough time for 2 games then play the first one. You will not regret it:)

BOT: Can't wait for DE:HR as it seems to be paying a lot of respect to DE:1 and that is a good thing :)

Judging by the quality of the pics, are the screenies taken from a high-end pc version or are they actually 360 run shots?

@10 I was thinking the same thing. Ill gonna assume that they were taken from the PC version rather than the xbox360.

@8 #9 is absolutely correct, the one on the original Xbox was still very good but there were some people who disliked it. As for Deus Ex 1, I've never met someone who played it and didn't love it.

@2 The best PC game of all time in my opinion, when they released the Multiplayer Patch, I played online for 10 years everyday, and I hate online gaming!!

@10 & 11 - I think it's safe to assume all screenshots from all games are from the pc version if there is a pc version of the game. Of course not counting wii games. It just makes good marketing sense for them to do so.
