Warner Bros. Interactive and developer Day 1 have today revealed FEAR 3's new Soul King multiplayer mode, which is supposedly the game's most competitive multiplayer game type, with players starting each match as a spectre and having to possess a physical form.

Possessing enemies, you can then take their skills and weapons, and while you assume a human form, you can harvest souls by killing enemies. However, there will be other AI enemies to compete against while the other three human players all tussle to collect the most souls to emerge victorious.

Check out the new trailer for a first look at the Soul King multiplayer mode, then keep an eye out for FEAR 3, which is set to launch on June 21st in North America and June 24th in Europe.

This looks way too complicated. And any deathmatch-oriented game where dying makes you lose half your score is fucking retarded.

It's great that they're throwing all these new modes into FEAR3, but if it doesn't come out with standard TDM or CTF... what the hell man.

this series is lost...I was probably one of the biggest fans of the first, I use to play multiplayer till 4 in the morning and shit, I played through the campaign at least 10 times, that was one of my favourite games...but this just looks sloppy, the story has gotten so lost from the first one...

This looks gay. Hopefully it doesn't suck as much ass as Fear 2 online did. I think this Fear is going to suck. It just wont be the same with coop and who the hell cares about multiplayer for this game anyways. I would rather save my $60 for Battlefield 3, Skyrim, Rage, Gears of War 3, Assassins Creed Revelations and all the other better games coming out. This is a rent

this game looks more and more unimpressive. they tried to build up a bunch of hype for FEAR 2 before it was released, and we know how that turned out...They should just stick to what made the first good, a very creepy singleplayer experience that didnt try to over due it like number 2.

Ahhh, I do appreciate them trying to be original, but I think even devs know that as long as they try to make it for consoles first they will never repeat the success that first FEAR was:-( Will still get for the story, but once price is super low, which shouldn't take too long.

This mode seems really bad. Original but I think that it will eventually suck. But the other modes looks pretty good; I hope they do because I already did the pre-order.
