InXile Entertainment is bringing helicopter rescue game Choplifter HD to the Xbox Live Arcade this autumn, utilising the expertise of Choplifter franchise creator Dan Gorlin who will act as a design consultant on the project. You'll assume the role of a rescue pilot in Choplifter HD, as he rises up the ranks to become an elite member of an international helicopter rescue team.
"It has been great for the design team to have Dan on board for Choplifter HD," said Brian Fargo, President, inXile Entertainment. "He has added valuable touches, including ways to connect the pilot to the rescued hostages in a meaningful way, which have helped us create a really rich Choplifter experience for players."
"I am thrilled to be a part of creating a Choplifter experience for the 21st Century," said Dan Gorlin, Choplifter franchise creator. "The team at inXile is passionate about the game and it shows in every detail. Choplifter HD looks to be the best Choplifter yet."
In Choplifter HD, you'll command a variety of helicopters across 20 different missions with some grounded in reality and others indulging in pure fantasy. So, one minute you'll be saving military prisoners and the next you'll be caught in a zombie outbreak, extracting survivors and shaking the undead from your chopper.
You'll be able to find out whether you have what it takes to bank, hover and touch down safely when Choplifter HD releases on XBLA in autumn 2011. Check out the first ten screens in the gallery and the announcement gameplay trailer below.
