Brothers in Arms: Furious 4
E3 2011: Brothers in Arms: Furious Four Revealed by Gearbox

Stitch, Chok, Montana and one name we missed [update: it's Crockett], will make up a band of insane Nazi bashers in Brothers in Arms: Furious Four, revealed by Gearbox Software's Randy Pitchford at this year's Ubisoft E3 press event.

A group of hard-drinking, ass-kicking World War II soldiers, the Furious Four mark something of a departure for the Brothers in Arms franchise, which is renowned for its more sombre, grim and reverent take on World War II. Except for Hell's Highway with its gratuitous slow-mo kills.

Gearbox showed a trailer of the game, which shows the gang of four tearing up a bar filled with Nazi scum, taking them out with killer moves and loads of guns. Subtle, it ain't.

Look's like Borderlands:WW2/Nazi edition more than Brother in Arms.

Definetly not gonna buy it, BIA should stay the way it is, why are they making a mockery of a renowned realistic and emotional frachise that used to tell the heroic stories of brave men, i would have much preferred Brothers In Arms: Battle of the Bulge.

They should just drop the BIA from the name and call it Furious 4.

Gatling Gun dude was called Montana indeed. And yeah there was a "scheisse" factor to it.

See what I did there.

Looks like Team Fortress 2 meets Inglorious Basterds. Not that that's a bad thing.
Looks a bit corny though.

Gona be fun if they keep that level of humor. Look like a Inglorious Basterds Tarantino should work with them.

Agreed with #6. I know it was only CGI and no gameplay, but I still felt pretty disappointed. I guess I'll keep an eye on this anyway :)

What have they done with the franchise, it looks nothing like BIA.
I know there is not not gameplay footage but with this teaser, I don't need to see more of it.
Another dead licence for me. I was waiting for a game like hell highway.

They've tried to put charisma in their character but failed miserably0.

I loved the historic aspect of BIA, it really brought it home fo me. F4 seems silly, and unbelievable, I will not buy! I was hoping for Battle of the Bulge, hey Gearbox complete the story, it seems only natural.

I can see people being disappointed with this, as it bears the Brothers in Arms moniker, and that usually means a very realistic and reverent tone. Still, drop that name, and this looks like a fun, over the top sytle action game. And since I play games to be entertained, I'll keep an eye on it.

I'm hoping this isn't an indication that it's going to lose its tactical roots and instead tries to aim for the 'COD' players....too many games are trying to change who they are...this for one, Operation Flashpoint and by the looks of things Call of Juarez.....please don't change to try and become mainstream...I love you games now :(

@19 Don't be so quick to judge.

"As one of the Furious 4, players battle using special weaponry and unexpected combat abilities, against the greatest threat the world has ever faced: the Nazi uber-weaponry, result of the numerous years of experimentations of the Third Reich."
According to the official website Brothersinarmsgame.com. So that and the style of the video against what I saw from past iterations of the game, it seemed to me that its more like #6 said, a less realistic and more comical game, which is moving closer to Borderlands.

@23 Also according to the site, the game is "offering a refreshing World War II experience with a campaign mode playable up to 4 players in co-op, as well as an extensive competitive multiplayer mode."
So yes there will be 4 player co-op.

Personally, I like the kind of game play Gearbox provided with Borderlands, and the way this is shaping up to be, I feel they're headed down that path. Although I may be happy with that, that would be a total slap in the face on their part to the fans of the series and they really should change the name in respect.

Sorry for the long post.

Dammit. They are further ruining what was initially an amazing franchise. The third game was basically Rainbow Six Carentan with slow mo headshots and other goofy additions like commando sequences and that one asylum level with ghosts (what?). The first two games are so brutal and harrowing, with the end game sequences of the second game standing out as some of the most emotionally wrenching scenes you'll find in gaming.

This looks ridiculous.

Pickaxes, handheld Vickers being held by someone who is clearly the Heavy from TF2 with a beard, Michael Stipe with a mohawk, and a dude who thinks he's in the desert in 1991?

Gearbox, what have you done?
