Ubisoft just demoed Assassin’s Creed: Revelations on stage at their E3 presser and… oh my, it looks good. Read on for a walkthrough, the trailer and the Special Edition pre-order bonuses can be found below.
Where to start? Following a black-clad, clearly ageing Ezio around Constantinople, the demo was high on explosive set-pieces.
But first, the weapons. There’s a big focus on bombs this time out, of all varieties. As well as your average explosive ones – aimed in a sexed-up Gears of War-style – this time out you’ll have smoke bombs and what looked like remote charge explosives too.
It was one such remote charge that Ezio used to down a tower holding a huge chain that stretched out along a harbour, at one point in the demo. As the tower fell, all hell broke loose.
What followed was an amazing set-piece that saw Ezio zip-sliding down onto a ship before manning a mounted flame thrower and torching all the ships in the vicinity. As the flames grew and the fleet burned, screams could be heard from the ship’s inhabitants.
Following this, Ezio made good his escape, leaping from burning ship to burning ship as they collapsed, flaming, into the sea. It was absolutely breathtaking stuff.
At the climax of the demo we got a glimpse of a mysterious looking gateway, with a shaft of light coming from the entrance. What on Earth was it?
We’ll find out soon, hopefully.
Assassin’s Creed: Revelations hits on November 15th. The Special Edition of the game (a GAME exclusive) features the “Turkish Assassin Armor” single-player outfit, along with two multiplayer character skins, “The Crusader” and “Ottoman Doctor.”
