Slip into your tightest cycling shorts and stupidest-looking helmet, as Tour de France: The Official Game is pedalling onto home consoles this July, giving you the chance to grind your butt into the saddle of a proper racing bicycle and fight shoulder-to-shoulder with sweaty cycling champions across twisty-turny courses.

"It's been a long time that we (at Cyanide) have been thinking of a cycling game especially designed for home consoles. We could not adapt on consoles what perfectly works on PC with Pro Cycling Manager, so we worked on different prototypes before arriving at a satisfying result last year," said Patrick Pligersdorffer, CEO of Cyanide. "Tour de France is the first important step in our quest for the ideal cycling simulation for home consoles."

Your actions across Tour de France: The Official Game's 21 gruelling official stages will shape your reputation as you fight for victory. Does that mean that throwing sticks into rival riders' spokes is frowned upon? Bah! Tour de France: The Official Game will be riding out on July 1st, 2011. Check out the first screens in the gallery.
