Funny or Die Pokes Fun at L.A. Noire With a Parody Vid

We bloody loved LA Noire, but then we also love this brilliant spoof of the game and its detective work and interrogation mechanics, with Phelps examing empty bottles and coffee cups, as well as man handling a dead body. Now that's detective work!

He casts doubt upon his police buddy's holiday, with a hilarious outburst. We won't give anything else away about the excellent Funny or Die LA Noire pardoy, and let the video speak for itself. "Oh crap... It's Phelps."

  • lmao. "hmmm, this doesn't seem to help me"
  • so is the game really like that?
  • hahahahaaa awesome!! "bullshit you son-of-a-bitch!"
  • That is a very good video. I love how they made fun of every little thing haha. Especially constantly stepping over the body, that was great. Man I hope no one posts about how much Funny or Die "didn't get the game" and "shouldn't make fun of it like that". That was a great parody on a great game
  • At 1:20 couldn't stop laughing.
  • Like #4 If the control are that shitty, I don't think I'll buy this game...
  • hilarious! love the game.!
  • @ 4&8 - While the spoof is sharp and hilarious, LA Noire's controls aren't nearly that bad. Give our review a read to get the verdict on the game.
  • lol that was awesome
  • best game parody ever i think. i love the doubt part lol.
  • LOL...Love it...love the Bullshit interagation the best LMAO ;0)
  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
  • Whahahaha! LOL... The game is brilliant, bus this is even better! HAHA!!
  • Great parody.
  • Phelps badge 12-47!
  • He did go a bit OTT sometimes!!! never had any problems of him running into the corners of walls, I always drove like a cop for some reason and even stopped at red lights! just felt it was the right thing to do in the game
  • That was a hilerious parody. xD
  • .............BULLSHIT!!! That was great :)
  • Operator, get me R&I. Operator, message for KGPL. Any messages? This is Car Eleven-King, go ahead. Thank-you for your help, ma'am. Etc...
  • this is funny because i just got the game
  • Lol
  • haha too funny!
  • That was brilliant!
  • This is better than half of the comedy movies out there
  • Detective Phelps... What've we got?
  • Lawlz when he was moving the head.
  • this is pretty funny but I've never got stuck on a chair or on walls... not sure where those jokes came from lol
  • Hilarious!
  • Well done!
  • I think this is the first time I ever laughed really hard at a "Funny or Die" video. haha
  • I absolutely loved the "doubt" part. It's so funny in the game how the smallest of lies can set Phelps off like the Incredible Hulk!
  • The only thing it was missing was "COLE PHELPS BADGE TWELVE FORTY SEVEN". Other than that, it was perfect.
  • ROLMFAO!
  • for everyone that says is the game really like that, no and yes. you would have to play the game to understand the video. that video was awesome though. i loved it
  • Given the history of the site it comes from --- it being funny is not a strong likelihood.
  • I woulda chose lie and used the coffee as evidence
  • That was indeed an amusing parody.
  • mildly funny
  • Ding-ding-DING-ding.
  • That was hilarious they totally nailed it even if it was over exaggerated but def have to play the game to get it i think.
  • Boooo
  • SOOOO accurate!
  • This is amazing...
  • sounds like #39 didn't actually watch the video.
  • Lol!!This is awesome!!
  • I loved this! My wife who watched the whole game with me agrees! It nail the game to a tee. Like others have said, all it needed was "Cole Phelps, badge 12-47"... "How can I help detective." One of the best parodies! It's a toss up between this and "Duty Calls!" Note: For others who might be put off the game because of this, don't be. It is a FANTASTIC game, and this is just exaggerating movements of Phelps.
  • This was great. Love the game, but this was a great parody. Over exaggerated, but I don't care, still made me laugh.
  • Didn't really fall in love with this show when I caught it on Sky Atlantic.
  • I have this game and love it and now I love this parody. Could not stop laughing the whole way thorough. Although I don't get how Phelps was able to kill 75 people. I have trouble just trying to run over one person. They're always using their teleportation powers to escape my grasp!
  • this is almost but not quite as funny as awesome noire on youtube
  • "sounds like #39 didn't actually watch the video. " #39 said he didn't watch it. I've seen enough of FoD in my life to not really need to subject myself to it further. There's always a chance a twentieth knee to the groin might be enjoyable --- but I see no reason to test that theory out.
  • Haha that was pretty good. I just finished LA Noire earlier. I laughed at the 'this doesnt seem to help me' and walking over the dead body and then jerking her head around.
  • lol
  • haha you cant run over people in la noire they just run away or bounce of your car i barely run over people sometimes
  • That was good. I've never got stuck on stuff though. I'm guessing whoever wrote the parody is shit at the game.
  • Whilst very funny, it's amazing how accurately the gameplay is represented. It isn't so much the controls but what you have to do to 'investigate' which usually amounts to bumping up against the walls and repeatedly stepping over the body waiting for the controller to vibrate to tell you you've found a 'clue'. The pointing to pick up an object and then ham-fistedly turning it to 'examine' it (i.e. the coffee cup he spills) is spot-on accurate to the way the game works. Also, the way 'Phelps' blows up at the guy while doubting his weekend story is very accurate. In the game, I was often taken aback by how hostile Phelps would get with people when the conversation was kind of dull up until he doubted them. Phelps' reactions seemed mismatched to the rest of what was being said which probably stemmed from the actors not being in the same room together or dialogue being recorded years apart that doesn't mesh tonally. It's pretty clear that the guys who made it loved the game even though they found a few flaws with it. And if L.A. Noire is as great as the claims, surely it can withstand having a few jokes poked at it... Right?
  • @60 The "Doubt" option used to be called "Force"... for obvious reasons, to "Force" the truth out of somebody - However at a late part in the development they realised that it would have to be changed, or else poor old ladies would be getting screamed at. However, in some countries some police forces can be as heavy handed as that if they suspect you're holding something back. For example the British CID (Our version of the FBI) will bite off your ear if you forget to tell them the exact number of times you breathed!
