X360A Review: Shadows of the Damned

Richard Walker

With shades of Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez movies, Shadows of the Damned has Suda 51 and Shinji Mikami's punk-rock style running through it like a stick of rock. Playing as the tequila-swilling Garcia Hotspur as he takes a journey into the quirkiest realisation of Hell you'll have seen in some time, you'll be holding your Johnson all the way as you endeavour to rescue you're lost love, Paula.

And with Grasshopper Manufacture's enviable pedigree in creating original action games like No More Heroes, surely Shadows of the Damned can be anything but a by-the-numbers game. But with big bosses sporting giant red weak spots and third-person shooter action with a dark/light gameplay twist, is Shadows of the Damned everything we hoped it would be?
