For a first step into the current generation gaming limelight, the official F1 game from Codies last year was a triumphant return to form. With sublime physics, stunning visuals and a gameplay engine that boasted most, if not everything, you wanted from an F1 racing game, it’s a tricky hand to try and beat.
More substance seems to be the way forward for F1 2011 then, which could turn the title into one of the best racers out there, with the 'Live the Life' mantra being fleshed out, more gameplay refinements, new rule changes being implemented and an added focus on multiplayer.
We caught up with F1 2011’s Chief Game Designer, Stephen Hood, last week to talk about all this and more. Do Codies listen to community feedback? How do they add value to a yearly title? Will they run out of ideas any time soon? We find out all that and more.
F1 2011 is scheduled for a September 23rd release.
