Activision and Marvel have today got together to announce the impressive voice talent for their forthcoming Marvel Comics titles, Spider-Man: Edge of Time and X-Men Destiny, both of which will be playable at this year's Comic-Con in San Diego.

Spider-Man: Edge of Time will feature Val Kilmer as Walker Sloan, while Smallville and V stalwart Laura Vandervoort takes the role of Mary Jane Watson-Parker, and finally, Katee Sackhoff, AKA Lt. Kara 'Starbuck' Thrace from Battlestar Galactica will be playing Black Cat.

Milo Ventimiglia, who plays Peter in Heroes will be be voicing playable mutant Grant Alexander, in X-Men Destiny, while Jamie Chung from Sucker Punch and The Hangover Part II will play Aimi Yoshida, who is also playable and Friday Night Lights star Scott Porter will voice third playable mutant Adrian Luca.

"These amazing casts of talented Hollywood actors help bring the rich storylines of Spider-Man: Edge of Time and X-Men Destiny to life," said Vicharin Vadakan, Director of Marketing for Activision Publishing. "Players this fall will get to control the destiny of their own mutants or save Spider-Man and through this voice talent feel like they are part of the action."

Beenox's Spider-Man: Edge of Time is out in autumn 2011 and Silicon Knights will be unleashing X-Men Destiny later in the year.

  • something weird about that Spiderman screenshot
  • hopefully this would be a good game like spider-man 2
  • when they gona make an xmen rpg!!!!! , hope this features some elements
  • @1 hes going to give the cameraman his "special webbing"
  • Agreed #2 - That still has the best "Spidey" feel to it with mobility and acrobatics. I've still yet to play Shattered Dimensions. Must acquire!
  • @1 . . . yea spiderman looks like hes been on the juice and been doing pullups for 24 hours str8 with those wings
  • This looks cool
  • Spiderman 2 was the best for PS2. All those acrobatic flips you could do, the missions were fun. Loved the upgrades and it had such a good free roam aspect. Such a classic classic.
  • it's going to be shattered Dimensions: Part 2. was a fun game & i'll definetly pick up when it hits $20.
  • Whoa-wait wait wait wait WAIT. Silicon Knights has Destiny under their wing? Like Too Human's Silicon Knights? HOW DID I NOT NOTICE? Might have to scribble that title back into my list somehow...
  • spider-man in an open world for me please :( Imiss those games
  • @ 10 - Don't hate the dev, hate the game.
  • What's the chances of any of these being as good as arkham asylum?
  • @13. There is no chance. Arkham wasn't just the best comic book game I have played on a console (X-Men arcade cabinet was the best, not the xbla version with unlimited quarters), but one of the best games I've played on 360. Plus, the developers don't exactly inspire me with confidence.
  • Finally something worth reading today. Slow news day eh. Anyway i can't wait. I payed full priced for Shattered Dimensions and really enjoyed it. can't wait till get my hands on this one.
  • Surprisingly no hate towards Acti in here. How about that?! Also I actualy liked Too Human a lot and was very disappointed there never was a sequel. This might go either way, but they sure know how get quality cast:-)
  • Wow Val Kilmer in Spider-Man. I really hope the game is good because I'm just dying to give up some of my money for a good Spider-Man game. I haven't had to yet, unfortunately.
  • I've got high, high hopes for X-Men Destiny despite being developed by Silicon Knights. I love the X-Men franchise and I love RPG's, so here's me with my fingers crossed for a very enjoyable game.
  • Man I so want to be at this comic-con. Fucking Coheed is going to be there! Ughhh! Wish I lived out there.
  • @3 X-men: Legends and X-men: Legends 2 also X-men: Destiny is an RPG fool, an action RPG but an RPG.
  • Is Spiderman Shattered Dimensions any good? I personally thought Spiderman 1 & 2 were good. I havent played the recent versions in the past years.
  • shattered dimensions felt really repititve, 3 chapters per level where you fight the same boss 3 times, i hope this is better
