Doublesix Games, the developer behind Burn Zombie Burn! has today announced Strike Suit Zero for the Xbox Live Arcade, a new arcade space shooter in which players pilot a transforming fighter 'Strike Suit' in a bid to save Earth before it's destroyed completely. Topical stuff... We could use some Strike Suits in London right now.

Packed with massive firepower and special abilities, the Strike Suit is an advanced fighter, and you'll need to call upon its power to fight in a race against time, making quick decisions along the way through a branching storyline, as the fate of Earth and its seven billion inhabitants hangs in the balance.

“Strike Suit Zero is inspired by the classic space combat games we all love,” said Jim Mummery, Creative Director at Doublesix Games.  “But our game goes further – it takes that inspiration, pumps up the pace and injects a massive sense of urgency to excite and challenge the player.”

Strike Suit Zero also features ship designs from Mechanical Design Engineer, Junji Okubo (Appleseed: Ex Machina, Steel Battalion) and music from award-winning sound designer Paul Ruskay (Homeworld). Doublesix will be showing off Strike Suit Zero at Gamescom 2011 in Cologne, ahead of its release on XBLA in early 2012. Check out the teaser video and first screens below.

@9 I know what you're talking about; that was a damn good game, just terribly short.

As long as this is better than Project Sylpheed, it won't put me to sleep.
