Capcom has outlined its plans for downloadable content for Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Online Edition, releasing a variety of add-on packs over the next few months, starting with a colour pack next week. Revealed on the Capcom Unity blog, 'Colour Pack 1' will add seven new outfit colours for each character, but at a price.
The pack will cost 240 Microsoft Points and will be available from the Xbox Live Marketplace on September 7th. However, the pack won't enable other players you're fighting against to see the new DLC colours, unless they themselves have the content too. So, no free compatibility pack will be provided and the new threads won't be visible in replays either, which seems like an oversight to us.
Subsequent DLC packs will include a set of music packs, featuring the original character themes from Street Fighter III: New Generation and Street Fighter III: Second Impact, and a set of match packs, each including over an hour of top-tier tournament players going at it, taken from the secret Capcom 'Fight for the Future 2011' tournament, complete with full commentary from Street Fighter expert, James Chen.
That's a lot of extra Street Fighter III, so if you're looking to splash more cash on the game, you should have plenty of opportunity to do so. Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Online Edition is available now for 1200 Microsoft Points.
