Arkane Studios has an enviable group of talent working on Dishonored, with Co-Creative Directors Harvey Smith and Raf Colantonio heading up the project and Half-Life 2 artist Viktor Antonov on board as Visual Design Director, ensuring that the game has a unique look and style, as well as plenty of tricks up its sleeve.

With Smith known for being the Lead Designer on the original Deus Ex and Raf Colantonio famed for his work as Lead Designer on Arx Fatalis, Dishonored is certainly an exciting prospect. So, fresh from seeing Arkane's FPS for the first time, we had a few questions to ask the duo.

We sat down to talk more about Dishonored, its design, gameplay, supernatural powers, special abilities, weapons, combat and more besides with Smith and Colantonio at Gamescom, and managed to glean some great insight into Dishonored, which is scheduled to release sometime in 2012.

I love sword games, this puts a massive twist on that genre so this will be a definate buy for me along with Mass Effect 3 and Ghost Recon Future Soldier, which I think come out shortly after my birthday in March... hopefully I'll have my Gaming PC by then so I can move to that for the future.

Each new thing I see about this game gets me more interested in it. I love games that encourage experimentation and allow you to figure out cool new ways to combine various parts of the game. Elder Scrolls does this so well, and it was also a part of Deus Ex. Can't wait to see some actual gameplay footage of this one.

Looks a bit like Bioshock and i hate games that want to be like others so i assume this will be a cheap knock off again.

@8 So because Bioshock was so great (IMO) and this game may resemble a great game, you aren't interested? Read up on it and check it out a bit more, it will be a very cool game if they can pull it off. Maybe not a day 1 buy, but don't think that just because it "looks a bit like Bioshock" that the subsequent step is "cheap knock off."
