Codemasters has released the third developer diary for F1 2011 today, showcasing the game's Co-Op Championship Mode, in which you and a friend can work together on the same team to win the FIA Formula One Constructor's Championship, or run him off the course to grab all of the glory for yourself.
“Now when I look across the garage and see my team mate in there, I am not comparing myself against an AI team mate, I’m comparing myself against someone that I know personally,” said Chief Game Designer Stephen Hood. “I’m interested in who’s got the most points, who’s out-qualified me. It’s about trying to fight to be the leader of a team. It makes for a completely different experience, playing with a friend. It’s now a personal game mode.”
F1 2011's Co-Op Championship Mode is an online co-op mode, and how you balance racing for your team against going for your own personal F1 championship, will be up to you, as you help direct the development of your car and work together to achieve your team's goals. Check out the dev diary for more, including new gameplay footage. F1 2011 is out on September 20th in North America and September 23rd in Europe.
