Codemasters has released the fourth developer diary for F1 2011 today, showing this season's updates in more detail, revealing the impact they'll have upon the gameplay. This includes the introduction of the safety car at the behest of the fans, and the 2011 season rule changes.
So, this year you'll be able to use the safety car periods to nip in for a cheeky pit stop, for a leg up on the opposition, and the new DRS and KERS systems built into each car will give you additional strategical options to deploy during a race. DRS adds acceleration for overtaking, while KERS presents drives with a speed boost to launch out of corners. It does make things more interesting.
