X-Men: Destiny
X-Men: Destiny Launch Trailer Asks You to Choose Your Path

Here’s the launch trailer for X-Men: Destiny, which slipped out quietly in North America today. Europe has to wait a few more days until Friday.

X-Men: Destiny is an action RPG where you create the legend of your own mutant amidst the Marvel universe. It’s set in the future, Professor X is dead, and all hell has broken lose between the rival mutant factions. You have to choose which path to take.

Developed by Silicon Knights, the makers of the disappointing Too Human, it’s hard to know what to make of X-Men: Destiny. The fear is that the game’s lack of exposure tells you all you need to know. But, Captain America slipped out a while back in a similarly quiet fashion. And that was OK. Perhaps this too has some surprises up its spandex sleeve.

What the hell is magneto wearing?!?!? also early-ish reviews state:
1. It is super super short only 4 to 6 hrs.
2. Short Roster with many many missing favorite mutants.
3. Interesting concept but poorly exucuted keeping it from reaching its potential.

They should make an X-men game focusing on the original Untouchables

Given some of the count achievements i seriously doubt the game is only a few hours in length.

Too bad this game is single player only, no coop at all.

Too Human was a great game that could have been so much more had Epic not fucked over SK. This looks like a quick cash in by Activision. And of course SK will take the heat for it when Acti leaves them hangin.

Play as your favorite X-Men - oh, wait...

There aren't enough skill trees on 360, so if the gameplay is quality I'll give it a chance.

Honestly the art style and the way the characters look ugly is the only thing putting me off for this game.

The commercial fail of Too Human is the reason I never bought any Gears games (after the first) and why I'll never buy another Epic game for as long as I live. Too Human was one of the most enjoyable co-op games on the 360 back in the day and I enjoyed every minute of it. Considering SK had to completely build their own physics engine less than a year before the release date, I'd say that game was fucking amazing, lol. Had Epic not fucked them over, we might already have Too Human 2 (or 3!) by now and be ranking it as one of the premiere trilogies of our time. But, alas, Epic had to get greedy. /sigh lol. Anyways, back on topic. Definately renting this game.

As long as I can live out my fantasies of being a Japanese schoolgirl, who cares if the game's good or bad?

I just played the game today, it really isn't all that bad. Sure the story is about as basic as an x-men story arc can be, but it gets you hooked at the beginning. The Character Adrian has a great back story and you can feel him being pulled back and forth in how he should feel. The story is short, only about 4-6 hours, there are some challenge maps but only about 15. There are about 16 suits and 46ish x-genes, so customization is there, but not a whole lot. A lot of genes popped up in the end stage of the game. The genes are random so this makes the x-moves mostly pointless, I only managed to get 1 full set while i was playing. There is a new game plus mode when you finish the game so you can keep leveling your character's powers up. To get a full 1000 i would hazard a guess around 12 hours, and you don't have to play as more than one character. Even on the hardest difficulty the game is easy, I am glad I cancelled my pre-order as it is a must play for any marvel fan if only for sake of nerdom, but defiantly a rental.

Silicon Knights should remake Eternal Darkness (if possible as it was a ninty exclusive) as it is one of the best survival horror games created with a great and interesting story. They did an awesome job on the twin snakes MGS remake to.

I'm .... not likely bothering. I can only hope SK have made something worthwhile here, can't imagine they'll be around much longer otherwise.
