Having braved Paddington Station in his previous diary entry, War of the Worlds hero Arthur Clark moves on to the usually green and bustling Hyde Park, which in the game is a charred destroyed ruin, plagued by laser-spitting tripod walkers and other Martian nastiness.
With Sir Patrick Stewart lending his dulcet tones to the character of Arthur, the trailer features more of the actor's voice-over, as we take a look at Hyde Park, where a gigantic, hulking piece of Martian machinery is waiting for you. Scary stuff.
Inspired by Flashback, Out Of This World, Prince of Persia and Heart of Darkness, War of the Worlds is a side-scrolling action adventure that follows the timeline of the 1953 movie adaptation and HG Wells' original novel. Check out the War of the Worlds gameplay video and first dev diary for another look at the game, which is coming to XBLA later this autumn.
