Warner Bros. has shipped a whopping 4.6 million copies of Batman: Arkham City in the game’s first week on sale.
Indeed, the numbers come from data revealed just four days after the European launch of the game. Lucky US gamers, meanwhile, have been swooping around as the Dark Knight for a full week. The stats are twice those achieved by Arkham Asylum in the same period.
Rocksteady director Sefton Hill said, “The team at Rocksteady put every ounce of effort into making the best Batman experience we possibly could, so we are overwhelmed by the incredible feedback from the community.”
It’s worth noting, as ever, that “shipped” does not mean sold. All indications are, however, that Batman: Arkham City has been a stonking success. And quite rightly too. In our review, Rich said “Batman: Arkham City is an incredibly well-crafted, labour of love and no mistake. In short, it's genius.”
