Ubisoft in partnership with twofour54 - the top Media Zone Authority in Abu Dhabi - have announced that a new development studio is set to open in Abu Dhabi with a core team of Ubisoft veterans that will bring in new local talent who will be trained to join the team. The new Abu Dhabi studio will create 100 new jobs over the next five years.
Scheduled to open its doors in December, Ubisoft's Abu Dhabi studio will be the first major publisher to establish a presence in the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC). The studio will start by working with online gaming titles in collaboration with other Ubisoft studios, before turning its hand to original titles.
“We are excited by the partnership with twofour54. Their commitment to developing a strong regional gaming industry and their knowledge of the region were the perfect foundation on which to continue building our development teams,” said Christine Burgess-Quémard, Executive Director for Worldwide Studios at Ubisoft. “The demographics and the pool of skilled technical talent in the Middle East and North Africa region are key factors that will contribute to the success of this new studio.”
