There are 50 achievements with a total of 1000 points.
 
 Walker (10 points)
You reached chapter 1
 Story related, cannot be missed.
 
 Master of the Universe (30 points)
Story completed
 Story related, cannot be missed. It unlocks after you defeat the S'kaa mothership and watch the ending cutscenes.
 
 The first Artifact (10 points)
First artifact collected
 Early in the story you will be required to collect your first artifact. Just mark the artifact as target, travel to the asteroid it is located on and when you get to the artifact it will be collected automatically.
 
 Collector's addiction (30 points)
100 artifacts collected
 The presence of artifacts is marked with a green symbol on the star map, but when you enter a new system you also get a text message that an artifact is nearby. Use the Planet Guide to identify all planets with artifacts. There are altogether 100 artifacts to collect.
 
 Suicide (20 points)
Secret Ascarong system entered
 Ascarong can only be accessed after you have collected all 100 artifacts and acquired the Zero FL drive (by unlocking it in the plasma cannon upgrade section). Warp to the system in Hive AC3 – bottom of the star map, outside the drawn barriers of Hive AC3 – and as soon as you enter the achievement unlocks. The system is controlled by the Ascarong gang (the members named after the developers), the toughest bunch of enemies in the game. No achievement requires you to actually get rid of them, it is enough to simply enter the system.
 
 Economy Class (20 points)
The Darkstar One reached level 5
 You increase the level of the Darkstar One by collecting artifacts. For level 5 you have to collect 12 artifacts, the achievement unlocks once you used the upgrade points to upgrade your ship.
 
 Midsize Class (20 points)
The Darkstar One reached level 10
 You increase the level of the Darkstar One by collecting artifacts. For level 10 you have to collect 35 artifacts, the achievement unlocks once you used the upgrade points to upgrade your ship.
 
 Fullsize Class (20 points)
The Darkstar One reached level 15
 You increase the level of the Darkstar One by collecting artifacts. For level 15 you have to collect 60 artifacts, the achievement unlocks once you used the upgrade points to upgrade your ship.
 
 Luxury Class (30 points)
The Darkstar One reached level 20
 You increase the level of the Darkstar One by collecting artifacts. To max out the Darkstar One and reach level 20 you have to collect all 100 artifacts, the achievement unlocks once you used the upgrade points to upgrade your ship.
 
 The first trade (10 points)
Buy a good for the first time
 Buy any good using the Trade menu in a trading station.
 
 The first equipment (10 points)
Buy your first equipment
 Buy an equipment in the dockyard of a planet's trading station.
 
 A hero (20 points)
Release a captured system
 See "True-blue hero"
 
 True-blue hero (30 points)
Release all captured systems
 Captured systems are marked with a green skull on your map. To liberate them you need to destroy four waves of pirate ships. Release them all and the achievement is yours. Use the Planet Guide to find all of them.
 
 The first gang (20 points)
Find and destroy a pirate gang
 Though you will eliminate quite some pirate gangs in the game, the first will most probably be part of the Story Mission “The end of the Aponi gang” you get from Delano. You will fight several pirates, bodyguards, then the Aponi boss. After the boss is dead this unlocks.
 
 Obsessively tidy (30 points)
Eliminate all pirate gangs
 During your journey you sometimes get news of nearby pirate gangs that need to be eliminated. In trade stations you can check the News menu to get detailed info on their whereabouts. Go to the system they are supposed to be in and look for shipwrecks, anomalies or pirate hideouts to find the gangs. It is always a similar fight, you have to kill a pirate formation (5-7 fighters), a couple of guards/bodyguards and then the gang boss. The boss always leaves a special container behind with money or a weapon in it. Use the Planet Guide to track your progress. Note, the gangs respawn, but have to be killed only once. The Ascarong gang does not have to be eliminated for this achievement.
 
 Pirate (10 points)
The reputation "Pirate" reaches its maximum value
 You can increase your "Pirate" reputation by attacking cargo ships (when their shield is destroyed they automatically drop their cargo), picking up and selling the stolen cargo. You can always check your progress in the Logbook under Reputation. Once you max out the “Pirate” bar, the achievement unlocks. I recommended to do this after you finish the main story as most players will still have to rob quite some cargo ships for the "Master thief" achievement which raises "Pirate" rep anyway.
 
 Trader (10 points)
The reputation "Merchant" reaches its maximum value
 You can increase your "Merchant" reputation by trading goods between the planets. The rule is pretty straightforward, buy the cheap stuff on a planet and sell them on planets that have a shortage of these goods. You can always check your progress in the Logbook under Reputation. Once you max out the “Merchant” bar, the achievement unlocks. Increase your container capacity continuously to be able to hold more goods. When attacked transporting cargo, just drop the containers and collect them again once you won the fight.
 
 Mercenary (10 points)
The reputation "Mercenary" reaches its maximum value
 You can increase your Mercenary reputation by accepting missions in the trade stations. The missions are under the Terminal menu option. You can always check your progress in the Logbook under Reputation. Once you max out the “Mercenary” bar, the achievement unlocks.
 
 Bounty Hunter (10 points)
The reputation "Bounty Hunter" reaches its maximum value
 You can increase your "Bounty Hunter" reputation by accepting missions while free roaming or in the trade stations, but also by simply killing pirate ships that appear in the various systems. Not all missions raise "Bounty Hunter" rep, but most where bounty is explicitly mentioned in the description do. You can always check your progress in the Logbook under Reputation. Once you max out the “Bounty Hunter” bar, the achievement unlocks.
 
 Smuggler (10 points)
The reputation "Smuggler" reaches its maximum value
 You can increase your Smuggler reputation by trading with illegal goods. Check on the star map which goods cannot be legally traded on a planet (marked in red), buy these goods on a planet that has a surplus of them and reach the target trade station without being caught by the police. In the station you can access the “Smuggle” option on the right and sell the goods. You can always check your progress in the Logbook under Reputation. Once you max out the “Smuggler” bar, the achievement unlocks. You can decrease the chances of getting caught by the police with jammer equipments such as the Jammer X-50.
 
 Killer (10 points)
The reputation "Killer" reaches its maximum value
 You can increase your Killer reputation by shooting neutral/friendly ships such as police or freighters. You can always check your progress in the Logbook under Reputation. Once you max out the “Killer” bar, the achievement unlocks. I recommend to do it in one go and reload a save once you are done. Start killing police ships (they respawn), do it as long as you can, only move to another planet if a military cruiser gets too close. As you will need to destroy 100 police ships as well, I recommend to go on with the killing spree until you get the "Terrorist" achievement as well and only reload the earlier save afterward.
 
 N.O.M.A.D. (20 points)
Destroy N.O.M.A.D.
 Once you finish the story mission to babysit Jow’son (a sequence of fights in different systems protecting Jow’son from bounty hunters, etc…) he tells you that he might have a mission for you later. Just go to the trade station on Bin’dal and accept the side quest. It will take you to Badic’aul and you will have to destroy 6 satellites. Once done, the achievement unlocks and you also get the key to the Altand’uin system.

 Visitor (30 points)
Visit 300 trading stations
 Land on 300 different trading stations in the DarkStar universe. Use the Planet Guide to keep track of the ones you have visited already. There are slightly more stations in the game than 300, so you do not have to enter all, but visiting the same station 300 times does not work
 
 Flying Ace (10 points)
Kill 100 pirates
 See "Slaughterhouse"
 
 Slaughterhouse (30 points)
Kill 1000 pirates
 During the story, the side quests and missions you will destroy plenty of pirate ships, so do not worry about this and the "Flying Ace" achievements, they both will unlock in the course of your playthrough.
 
 Pickpocket (10 points)
Rob the first cargo ship
 See "Master thief"
 
 Master thief (30 points)
Rob 100 cargo ships
 To rob a cargo ship all you have to do is to destroy its shield so that it drops its cargo. You do not need to destroy the ship completely or take the stolen cargo and sell it.
 
 Supervillain (30 points)
Rob a super-freighter
 Super-freighters are long ships surrounded by hunters and having Class 3 in the name. Destroy one of these ships to unlock the achievement. You have to be quick as they tend to hyperjump if they are low on health.
 
 Wanted (20 points)
Maximize your penal record
 You need to reach five wanted stars. Attack a cargo ship and destroy a few police ships that come to rescue. It really only needs a few kills to get max stars.
 
 Terrorist (20 points)
Destroy 100 police ships
 When you go for the "Killer" reputation or are busy robbing cargo ships you will accumulate more than enough police ship kills. Simply go on killing some more if this alone is not enough for the achievement.
 
 Public enemy no. 1 (30 points)
Destroy a military cruiser
 If you start killing police ships, sooner than later a military cruiser will appear. Destroy the cruiser to unlock the achievement. If you by chance did not start the game on the easiest difficulty, it might make sense to decrease difficulty for this one anyway.
 
 Smuggler's party (20 points)
Sell 600t of smuggled goods in one go
 Once your ship can carry 600t of cargo, you have to smuggle this amount of goods to a planet where these goods are illegal to trade with. To avoid police use scan jammers or simply try to avoid the police ships.
 
 Hawker's Tray (20 points)
Sell 600t of an out-of-stock good
 Once your ship can carry 600t of cargo, you have to sell this amount of goods on a planet that has none in stock of it. My tip is to buy proteins or life forms and aim for poor research or poor mining planets. They usually have very low stock of these goods, if you are lucky they are completely sold out. In this case just sell all your cargo for the achievement.
 
 Heavy loaded (20 points)
Leave a station with 3 containers in tow
 Once you can buy the Cargo Computer X-300 in a trade station dockyard you will be able to tow 3 containers. Just buy enough goods to fill all three and leave the trade station.
 
 Fire at will! (20 points)
Equip the Darkstar One with 5 bow weapons
 This achievement is missable as you only have 20 level upgrades possible for the hull/wings/engines. The wings of Darkstar One have to be at level 7 in order to be able to equip it with 5 bow weapons. When you have upgraded the ship accordingly, equip for example 5 railguns/secret service weapons and it will unlock at once.
 
 Deadbeat (30 points)
Equip the Darkstar One with 5 turrets
 This achievement is missable as you only have 20 level upgrades possible for the hull/wings/engines. The hull of Darkstar One has to be at level 10 in order to be able to equip it with 5 turrets. When you have upgraded the ship accordingly, equip the 5 turrets and it will unlock at once.
 
 Homesickness (20 points)
Contact a trading station at a distance of 100u
 You can do it very early in the game. Just mark any trade station as your target and travel 100u away from it. When you are far enough, press followed by to contact the station.
 
 Cleanup efforts (30 points)
Destroy 500 meteoroids
 Just keep shooting meteoroids and it will come naturally. On planets with ice meteoroid fields (like Molin in Hive-CU7) it is a lot easier and quicker to destroy them as there are a lot of small ones around.
 
 
Secret Achievements
 
 
Sky burial (20 points)
Crash on a planet
 If you fly towards a planet you will get a warning when you get too close to the surface. Ignore this warning and keep on approaching the planet until you crash and get the Game Over screen plus this achievement.
 
Oh no, she's back (20 points)
Eona is back
 Story related, cannot be missed.
 
How quiet (20 points)
Eona is gone
 Story related, cannot be missed.
 
Collector's passion (30 points)
50 artifacts collected
 See "Collector's addiction"
 
Resistance (20 points)
Destroy a S'kaa-ship
 Story related, cannot miss. S'kaa ships are known as Thul drones in the first four chapters of the game. The first ones you will shoot down in chapter one as part of the story.
 
Globetrotter (30 points)
You reached chapter 5
 Story related, cannot be missed. It unlocks after you investigate the two ship wrecks on Koro and acquire the key to the Permakin system.
 
Adventurer (20 points)
You reached chapter 4
 Story related, cannot be missed. After you destroy the Thul cruiser that annihilated Hornblower and visit a trade station there will be a cutscene and the achievement unlocks.
 
The first hyperjump (10 points)
Perform your first hyperjump
 The achievement will unlock the first time you travel between planets. It will happen shortly after you complete your first assignment.
 
Traveller (20 points)
You reached chapter 3
 Story related, cannot be missed. After you first meet Hornblower you have to support him in the fight against some pirates. Once the fight is over the achievement unlocks.
 
Wanderer (20 points)
You reached chapter 2
 Story related, cannot be missed.
 
Hobby collector (20 points)
10 artifacts collected
 See "Collector's addiction"
