Unlock the chest. Then put the peroxide, bandages, and tape into the medkit to assemble it. Then give it to Hawk. He will then ask for water.  Mad Tapper (5 points)

*MISSABLE*

Hidden Object scenes are those that task you with gathering a list of items from a mess of junk. There are several of these scene throughout the game, the first of which is inside the helicopter after giving Hawk the medkit. You need to repeatedly tap the screen on objects that are not on the list which causes the screen to get a broken likeness. Do this three times total in a single scene to unlock this achievement. This is only missable in the sense that if you don't do it in your playthrough, you will have to delete your first save and start a new one for about 2 minutes.

This Way, That Way (5 points)
Travel back and forth between the same 2 scenes 4 times in 30 seconds.

Click a blue arrow to go forward to the next scene, then the back arrow (bottom right near the hint button) to go back to the previous scene. Quickly repeat this three more times and the achievement will unlock.

Just pick up the journal that is laying in the sand right in the front of the helicopter. It is hard to miss.

 Keen-eyed Sleuth (10 points)
Complete a Hidden Object scene without using the Hint button.

*MISSABLE*

Hidden Object scenes are those that task you with gathering a list of items from a mess of junk. There are several of these scene throughout the game, the first of which is inside the helicopter after giving Hawk the medkit. For this achievement, just do not use the Hint button. These is no time limit and the objects are usually not that well hidden. Look carefully. This is only missable in the sense that if you don't do it in your playthrough, you will have to delete your first save and start a new save for about 2 minutes.

 Orb Heirloom (10 points)
Obtain the Vision Stone from the locked box in James's office.

*STORY RELATED*

After giving Hawk the canteen, the game will flash back to Scotland. Solve the locked box puzzle (the 2nd puzzle in the flashback) to receive the Vision Stone and unlock this achievement.

 Canyon Pass (10 points)
Find the three animal tokens and unlock the canyon gate.

*STORY RELATED*

The canyon gate is the one right next to the starting point of the game.

TOKENS:

1) Spiral - Right next to the pond, guarded by a scorpion. You need to use the crowbar to remove the rocks and then a flashlight to see what is inside (found in area at base of pole with ice on it). Finally you need the red glove from the hood of the helicopter to actually be able to pick up the token. To get the it from the hood of the helicopter, you need to help Hawk move it with a log you get from the far side of the rift where you start. Get across that rift with the ladder (found in the Hidden Object scene in the helicopter) wrapped with the green material laying out by the pole with ice near the helicopter.

2) Bird - Use the knife (found outside helicopter) on the amber globe that is on the far side of the rift mentioned in the Spiral token above.

3) Squirrel - The puzzle for this token is located in the box across the rift mentioned above. You need to collect three weights to start the puzzle. One is near the base of the icy pole, the second above and to the left of the pond in a crack in the canyon wall, and the third is in the aloe plant next to the scorpion hole.

Once you have all three tokens, insert them into the door.

 Ritual Chamber (15 points)
Enter the hidden valley of Adera through a secret chamber.

*STORY RELATED*

After opening the canyon gate, there are a few puzzles that need to be solved to enter the Adera Valley.

Raise the steps to cliff side door: For this you need to collect 3 metal slats and then use them to complete the simple puzzle.

  1. By the pond at the start
  2. Base of the third obelisk (to the right of the one you use to laser the cliff side)
  3. In the zoom-in just left of the cliff side door

Cliff side door: Collect two pieces of marble disk. Then insert them into the cliff side door and click the handle.

  1. After opening the canyon gate, take the right path and check the broken ship hull on the left.
  2. In the same area as 1. You need to get the crane working to pull a buried crate out of the ground. First get the crank from the Hidden Object scene in the same area. Attach it to the crane. Then back and take the left path. A hook for the crane is located at the base of the obelisk to the right of the one you laser the mountainside with. Take the hook back to the crane and attach it to raise the crate for this piece.

Secret chamber door: Once in the secret chamber, first look at your feet and solve the puzzle to activate the four blue buttons around you. Then you need to find the 6 missing glowing blue shards. Once you collect them all, insert them in the correct buttons. Then click the door and solve the puzzle to open it.

  1. Look to your right. Click on the pots under some metal cogs. Inside these pots.
  2. Same as 1.
  3. Click on big hole in the wall between to two blue buttons.
  4. Still looking right, click on the pots to the right. Shard is inside those pots.
  5. In the same location as 4, there is a hammer to pick up. Use it to smash the rightmost fiery enclosure behind you to reveal the shard.
  6. Now looking left, it is inside the big pot near the left button.

 Quetzal Aflame (15 points)
Discover the way into a hidden city.

For this you need to repair the broken rope bridge by completing several puzzles. Once in Adera (jungle), take the left most path. Use the rope which you get from breaking the crate inside the broken ship hull to activate the windmill.

Lowering the drawbridge: You now need to use 7 collected gears to solve the puzzle to lower the drawbridge.

  1. In a zoom-in directly to the left of the cliff side door
  2. In the secret chamber with blue button, left side on the floor
  3. After entering Adera, in a zoom-in to the right in the grass near a strange blue plant.
  4. In the rocks to the left of the windmill.
  5. Zoom-in on the rocks to the right of the windmill
  6. Take the right of the two paths in Adera. On the ground in this new scene. Hard to miss.
  7. Same area as 6, zoom-in on the rock to the left.

Make sure to pick up the whetstone in the zoom-in of the rocks to the right of the windmill. Then head over the bridge. Collect the stick from near the light magnification device and the axe from the zoom-in near the red flowers. Backtrack to the first jungle scene. Turn around, look up and use the stick on the vines above. Complete the Hidden Object scene to get the roll of paper and leather. Now take the right most path in the first jungle scene. Use the axe on the bushes blocking the path, it will break. Repair it with the leather, twine, and whetstone. The twine is gotten from the Hidden Object scene next to the broken ship hull. Axe the bushes again to reveal more scenes. Take the path straight ahead. Crossing this broken bridge is the final objective of Episode One. Pick up the talisman laying on the ground in plain sight by the bridge. Complete the following puzzles to finish the game.

Marble puzzle on floor after axing the bushes: Collect three marbles to start this puzzle and reveal a piece of wire.

  1. Found in the crate that you used the crane to raise from under the sand.
  2. Right on the ground near the light magnification device
  3. Zoom-in on the rock to right of the broken rope bridge.

Makeshift string instrument to right in the first jungle scene: You need to complete the instrument and then play the correct notes on it.

  1. Wire 1: Zoom-in of the pond at the very start of the game
  2. Wire 2: Zoom-in of the rock to the right of the broken rope bridge
  3. Wire 3: Reward for completing the marble puzzle
  4. Spoked Rock: First get the sun-shaped key by completing the puzzle to the left of the light contraption. Then backtrack to the cliff side door scene. Click on the far right pillar with the design and insert the sun-shaped key. Click the hatch to get this rock.
  5. Charcoal Rubbing: You need to make a charcoal rubbing for which notes to play on the instrument. First get the charcoal by zooming in on the rock to the left in the scene where you axed the bushes. You also need paper, which is obtained in the Hidden Object scene behind you in the vines when you enter Adera (same one as you got the leather). Take these items to the jungle floor (right path from scene with marble puzzle) and click on the panel. Use the cloth to clear the grime away (found by zooming in on plant to the left of the broken rope bridge). Then use the paper and charcoal to make the rubbing. Place them all into the instrument and play the notes in the correct order to reveal a focusing crystal.

Completing the light magnification device: Located over the windmill bridge. Requires 5 lenses and a focusing crystal.

  1. Lens 1: Found in the crate pulled from the ground by the crane in the desert.
  2. Lens 2: Found in the secret chamber with the blue buttons on the floor (facing forward, it's to the left)
  3. Lens 3: In the scene with the marble puzzle, on the ground
  4. Lens 4: At the jungle floor, zoom-in on the purple flower
  5. Lens 5: You need the hammer and chisel for this one. The hammer is unmissable and must be collected in the secret chamber. The chisel is obtained from the zoom-in on the plant next to the marble puzzle. Hit it with the hammer to dislodge it and pick it up. In the first jungle scene, look left for a sparkling area. Zoom-in and use the chisel and hammer to free this lens.
  6. Focusing Crystal: Rewarded for completing the string instrument (see above)

Click on the broken pillar piece of the device to repair it. Place the 5 lenses in the device and the crystal in the middle. Click each lens to focus the light on the crystal. Then head down to the newly lit area (next to marble puzzle). Insert the talisman (found on ground near broken rope bridge) and complete the puzzle to repair the rope bridge to Adera.

 Across the Chasm (20 points)
Avoid a deadly fall with a little help.

*STORY RELATED*

Simply cross the rope bridge towards Adera to conclude Episode One. The achievement unlocks at the end of the final cutscene before the credits.

 A Helping Hand (15 points)
Show your friends what you’re doing in Adera using the Share charm.

While playing the game, take your mouse to the far top right corner of the screen to bring in the charms bar and click "share" (or use the Windows Key + H shortcut). Then select any of the available sharing options (ex. Mail or Skydrive). The achievement should pop without actually having to share your screenshot, so just back-out to the game. This achievement should not require an active network connect to unlock.

 Zealot Collector (10 points)
Gather 40 collectibles.

See "Attention to Detail."

 Attention to Detail (20 points)
Gather all the collectibles in Episode One.

There are a total of 45 collectibles that need to be found in 9 different categories. Your collectibles do save across multiple playthroughs and only need to be found once. You can check which ones you are missing from the main menu under "Collections." Always check very closely around each scene and know what you are looking for (i.e. butterflies, small coins, plants etc.) A good tip for when you head into a side-scene (small zoomed-in area within larger scenes) is to continue looking until the game boots you back to the main scene (i.e. do not click the back button), which happens when you have found everything in that screen.

Click HERE for a guide with the locations of all the collectibles. It is recommended you play through once and find what you can on your own, rather than strictly following the collectible guide. You will find most on your own and going step-by-step through the guide can be unnecessarily tedious. Near the end of the game, or after completing the game and loading the final checkpoint, when all scenes are open to explore, you should use the guide to mop-up any collectibles you may have missed.

 Aderan Paragon (20 points)
Complete all of Episode One without using the Hint button.

*MISSABLE*

NEVER use the Hint button during your entire playthrough. This will make the game a tad more challenging, but not much. The game revolves around collecting "hidden items" and using them in the correct place to progress through the story. Objects with a little blue puzzle piece on them require the use of one of more objects to solve. The game gives you a fairly substantial clue just by clicking on these items with the blue puzzle piece on them. Most items that are definitely related to the story will sparkle making them easier to see. See the first section of the guide (Story Related Achievements) for some general solutions to the games many puzzles.

 Focused Mind (15 points)
Solve all the minigames in Episode One without skipping.

*MISSABLE*

There are many minigame puzzles throughout the game. Most of them are quite simple and just require a little thought to solve. After about one minute has elapsed into the puzzle, a "Skip" button will pop-up in the upper left hand corner of the screen. To earn this achievement, NEVER click that button and solve all the puzzles. This will unlock after completing the last minigame in Episode One and backtracking one scene.

Why Did It Have to Be Bees? (15 points)
Chase away the bees and enter the mysterious Aderan city.

Get the torch from the Hidden Object game that is in the small rectangular pond of water. The game is located in the scene across the stone bridge. Light the torch in the fiery pipe found by zooming in to the right of the stone bridge. Get the straw from the bird's nest found to the left of the stone bridge on a rock (only after giving the bird the berries, completing the puzzle, and the bird flying away). Get the three wood planks:

  1. At the start of the episode, turn around and zoom in on the broken bridge you just came across at the end of Episode 1. It is on the ground in the grass to the left.
  2. In the scene with the broken gate (with the satchel behind it), zoom in on the sentry position (stone structure to left of gate). It is on the ground in the grass to the right of the structure.
  3. In the scene past the stone bridge. Zoom in on the spiky plant. They are resting on top of one of the stone blocks in plain sight.

Go back to the fire pit below bee's nest. Place the straw in, then the three wood planks, then use the lit torch to light a fire which creates smoke and scares the bees away.

 Memories of Amaro (15 points)
Observe a childhood memory of Jane and her grandfather, Amaro.

After scaring the bees and climbing the vine to enter the city you will see a door and a statue ahead. Click on the statue and there will be a cutscene. At the end of the scene, this achievement unlocks.

 The Glow (15 points)
Pour the glowing mixture into the base of the sundial.

There are many steps to completing this achievement.

  1. Get gauntlets - Zoom in on the structure to the left of the red gate with a hole in it. Click the cloth to reveal these.
  2. Get torch and light it - See "Why Did It Have To Be Bees?" for more information.
  3. Use the gauntlets on the red ivy at the base of the glowing tree. Complete the Hidden Object game to get the trowel and jerky.
  4. In the scene with the sundial, grab the ceremonial bowl, which is sitting on the ground just to the right. Now, zoom in on the sundial. Get the stone fish from the ground on the right.
  5. Take the path directly behind the sundial. Zoom in on the caiman to the right. Use the jerky to get the caiman to go away. Complete the puzzle to cross the lagoon.
  6. At the shrine (scene once you cross lagoon), use the stone fish on the emblem to the right (brown circular thing). It will fill the basin with a liquid and expose a fire pit.
  7. Go to the fire pit on the opposite side and use the lit torch to start a fire. It will warm the liquid in the basin and transform its color.
  8. Use the ceremonial bowl on the basin to gather some of the liquid.
  9. Go back to the sundial and use the bowl with the glowing mixture on the bottom of the sundial.

 Trials and Tribulations (20 points)
Complete the Aderan trials of strength, intelligence, and faith.

Trial 1: This is the far left door of the three trial doors in ceremonial plaza.

  1. Collect the 6 frieze pieces. They are located at your feet as soon as you enter the Aderan city (after climbing the vine).
  2. Use the frieze pieces on the puzzle on the wall behind the red bush at the base of the tower with your family crest on it. You will get a code.
  3. Use the code on the bird hutch to the left of the previous puzzle to unlock it and get the mosaic tile.
  4. Use the mosaic tile on this trial door. Complete the puzzle to open the door.
  5. Go inside and complete the puzzle to get the metal chain. Then zoom in on the stairs that just opened and grab the stone fang from the pedestal.

Trial 2: This is the far right door of the three trial doors in ceremonial plaza.

  1. In the scene at the base of Amaro's tower, zoom in on the shed. After completing the Hidden Object scene, you will get a prybar.
  2. Use the prybar to open the right door in ceremonial plaza.
  3. Go inside and grab the stone paw from the mouth of the cat carving on the wall.
  4. *MISSBALE ACHIEVEMENT* - Missed It By That Much - See description
  5. Complete the puzzle to open a hatch. Inside the hatch is a jaguar hammer.

Trial 3: This is the middle door of the three trial doors in ceremonial plaza. You will need to place all 6 gold weights on the pillar to open the door. They can be found:

  1. From the Hidden Object scene to the left of the bee's nest.
  2. From the Hidden Object scene that is in the little rectangular pond in the scene past the stone bridge.
  3. Zoom in on the statue with the mechanical bird. It is to the left, in the weeds.
  4. In the scene with the lagoon, zoom in on the area with the caiman. After feeding it the jerky, the weight is found in the nest the caiman was sitting on.
  5. Inside the box that opens after completing the puzzle inside the door of Trial 1.
  6. Inside the hatch that opens after completing the puzzle inside the door of Trial 2.

Complete the puzzle inside this middle door to unlock the achievement. Then look up to find a gong in a bird's nest. Zoom in on the stairs and collect the jaguar hammer from the pedestal. You will need all of these items to enter the temple.

 The Life Cycle (20 points)
Properly place the missing items on six statues.

Once the sundial is filled with the glowing mixture, head back to the area with the statue with the mechanical bird. There will now be six illuminated statues that have risen. Place the item mentioned on each.

  1. Sun statue - Place the sun lantern here. In the scene with the glowing tree, use the kaleidoscope to open the box in the grass. The lantern is inside that box. See "It's Not Just A Toy" for the location of the kaleidoscope.
  2. Flower statue - Place the star flower here. First, get the trowel. See #3 in "The Glow" achievement for the location. Use the trowel on the grub-infested log near the glowing tree on the ground to get some grubs. Use the grubs on the carnivorous plant to the left of the glowing tree to get the star flower.
  3. Wind statue - Place the wind chime here. In the glowing tree scene, zoom in on the branches of the tree on the left. The wind chime is in plain sight in this screen.
  4. Butterfly statue - Place the glowing butterfly here. First you need to find the crystal leaves. In the scene with the glowing tree, zoom in on the upper left portion of the tree to its branches. Get the crystal leaves from the top left portion of the screen. Then go across the lagoon. In the shrine area with the glowing mixture basin, turn around and place the crystal leaves in their missing location in the pillar. A butterfly will come out of a cocoon. Collect that butterfly.
  5. Seed statue - Place the bag of seeds here. In the scene with the sundial, zoom in on the black gravestone directly behind the sundial. It is to the left, resting in a bush.
  6. Sprout statue - Place the sprout here. In the scene with the sundial, zoom in on the large black gravestone on the left. It is right in front of the gravestone. It is the small plant.

Once all the items are placed in their respective statues, the original statue with the mechanical bird will become illuminated and the achievement will unlock.

 So Close (15 points)
Arrive at the tower where Jane believes Amaro is located.

Once the main statue is illuminated, there will be a puzzle to complete by clicking on the mechanical bird. Once completed, a clockwork gear will drop. Pick it up and return to the sundial scene. Zoom in on the box by the sundial and use the gear on it to open the box. Inside is a pocket watch. Take the watch back to the mechanical bird statue and place it. The main gate will become illuminated. Zoom in on the gate and complete the puzzle to open the door. After watching the cutscene, the achievement will unlock.

 Date with Destiny (25 points)
Enter the Great Hall and speak with the Elders.

After completing all 3 trials and collecting all the items mentioned in the "Trials and Tribulations" achievement, return to the ceremonial plaza. Zoom in on the gate to the right. Place the stone fang, metal chain, stone paw, jaguar hammer, gong, and jewel eye in the correct locations to open the door to the temple.

Go into the door to the left in the temple scene. Complete this Hidden Object game to obtain the family crest. Click on the temple guard and talk with him. *MISSABLE ACHIEVEMENT* - Page Flipper - See description. Complete the bloodline puzzle to get the ceremonial clothes. You can now enter the temple. Once inside, insert the family crest to start a puzzle. Complete the puzzle to summon the Elders. Achievement unlocks. Episode Two complete.

 Page Flipper (5 points)
Revisit each page of the Journal.

*MISSABLE*

Though it is missable, you can just load up your last save after completing the game to get this if you forget. Make sure not to start a new game however as it will erase your progress in the episode. *SPOILERS* At the end of the game, when you are in the temple, talk with the guard. You will get a journal update that is the last of the game. When it pops up, just use the back arrow to scroll all the way back to the first journal entry of Episode Two. The achievement will unlock on the first entry.

Missed It by That Much (10 points)
Build the tower of stones on the far-right platform in the strength trial.

*MISSABLE*

Make sure you get this when your reach the 3 Trials towards the end of the game. If you miss it, you will have to play the entire Episode over again to reach this point. *SPOILERS* When you are doing the strength trial in the right door of ceremonial plaza, you need to assemble the statue on the far-right platform, not the middle one like you are supposed to. This puzzle is fairly simple to complete. One of the possible solutions to this achievement is seen below. Do the steps in order. 1 = Left Platform, 2 = Center Platform, 3 = Right Platform.

1>2, 1>3, 2>3, 1>2, 3>1, 3>2, 1>2, 1>3, 2>3, 2>1, 3>1, 2>3, 1>2, 1>3, 2>3

Patience Is a Virtue (10 points)
Complete Episode Two without receiving a rapid-tap warning.

A rapid-tap warning can only occur in Hidden Object scenes. It happens when you tap incorrect items too quickly. An animation will show the glass of the screen breaking. Basically the strategy for this achievement is just to take your time and go slow, only clicking on items you are sure are on the list. You can click on incorrect items, but if you do, wait a second or two before clicking another one. There are a total of 5 Hidden Object scenes. If you have done it correctly, it will unlock at the end of the last one, which is in the temple near the end of the game.

 Master Puzzler (10 points)
Complete Episode Two using the Hint Button no more than five times.

Just do not use the hint button more than 5 times throughout your entire playthrough of Episode Two. The game is actually not that hard and gives you plenty of guidance. The hint button is not even needed. You CAN skip as many puzzles as you want and that will not affect this achievement at all. If you get stuck somewhere, use the Story Related Achievements section of the guide to figure out what to do.

 It's Not Just a Toy (5 points)
Find a use for the kaleidoscope.

To get the kaleidoscope, you first need the hooked staff. This can be found in the pile of rocks next to the main gate with the hole. Use the hooked staff on the hole to get to the kaleidoscope from inside the satchel.

When you get to the scene with the glowing tree (path left of sundial), use the kaleidoscope on the box with the triangular key slot in the grass.

 Hidden Object Master (10 points)
Find every item in a Hidden Object scene in under 30 seconds.

You need to collect all the items on the list in under 30 seconds. This can be a challenge especially on your first run through. You also need to be careful not to randomly tap too quickly or you will get a rapid-tap warning (where the screen's glass breaks) and void the "Patience is a Virtue" achievement. You can either use the picture HERE with all the items labeled on the first Hidden Object scene (in the area with the bee's nest), or just come back on a second playthrough to get this, which would only take an extra minute.

 Casual Collector (10 points)
Find more than half of the hidden collectibles in Episode Two.

See "Catalog of Wonders."

 Catalog of Wonders (15 points)
Find all 45 hidden collectibles in Episode Two.

There are a total of 45 collectibles that need to be found in 11 different categories. Your collectibles do save across multiple playthroughs and only need to be found once. You can check which ones you are missing from the main menu under "Collections," looking under Episode 2 of each category. Always check very closely around each scene and know what you are looking for (i.e. butterflies, small coins, plants etc.) A good tip for when you head into a side-scene (small zoomed-in area within larger scenes) is to continue looking until the game boots you back to the main scene (i.e. do not click the back button), which happens when you have found everything in that screen.

 Escape Artist (15 points)
Fashion a crude rope and escape through a crack in the floor.

Story related, can't be missed. You will find two ropes directly in front of you, one at the back with the stepladder, two up on the shelf (use the stepladder to get these). Use these ropes on the whole in the floor for this one.

 Snake Charmer (10 points)
Chase snakes away from the clogged water channel.

Story related, can't be missed. Use the matches on the unlit torches in the unlit room. One of them will fall down. Pick this up and use it on the snakes at the top of the viaduct for this one.

 Surface Dweller (15 points)
Escape the Aderan underground and make it back to the surface.

Story related, can't be missed. This will unlock just after half way through as soon as you get outside.

 Pulse Perfection (10 points)
Miss no more than three taps while shifting the boulder in the cave pool.

Missable.

You will have a minigame to play when you have collected everything from the pool area. This minigame involves you clicking on circles when they are fully focused. You can miss three, and they are quite easy to do, but start speeding up towards the end. If you miss this it is quite near the beginning so won't take you long to go back and try again.

 Steam Punk (15 points)
Obscure the stone mask's vision in the bath house.

Story related, can't be missed. You need to find the curved pipe to obscure the stone masks view. First you will need to get the waterfall working. You will need to find three turtles for this. One is by the waterfall, behind you when you enter the scene. Throw the rubber ball you have through the hoop by the episode exit for a second, and the third is in the netting in the roof of the room with the mask in. Use the spear to knock this down. Once you have these, you will start the waterfall and have access to the glyph. There is a key with the glyph which opens a door in the mask room. This is an item finding game, and you will get the curved pipe as a prize when you complete. Place the curved pipe on the steam vent for this one.

 Glyph Master (25 points)
Use the key glyphs to open the door to Amaro's Tower.

Story related, can't be missed. This will unlock right at the end when you place all four glyphs you have collected in the puzzle door. You will only have four, but Billy will give you the fifth at the end.

 Aderan Intuition (10 points)
Complete Episode 3: Escape Into Light without using a single hint.

Missable.

Complete the episode without using the hint button. If you get so stuck you need to use it, don't worry as you can race through the game in under 15 minutes once you know where everything is.

 The Tower (20 points)
Find your way into Amaro's tower.

From the beginning of the game, you will need to do the following:

Open the main door at end of bridge:

  • Pole - Zoom-in on the broken railing on the left side of the bridge. It is in plain sight.
  • Quetzal Piece 1/3 - Next to the bowl on the ground on the right side of the bridge.
  • Quetzal Piece 2/3 - There are two hanging bowls on the left side of the bridge. In the rightmost of the two, is a piece. Click it to make it fall and then click it again to collect.
  • Quetzal Piece 3/3 - Use the pole on the netting that is tucked up by the hanging bowls on the left to make the butterfly net. Use this net over the side of the broken bridge on the left to collect the final piece.
  • Use the three Quetzal pieces to open the main door at the end of the bridge.

 Master Cartographer (10 points)
Find all landmarks through the observatory telescope in under two minutes.

*MISSABLE* Once you insert the lens and landmark clues paper into the telescope, click on it to use it. You will then need to guide the telescope around to the 6 landmarks on the screen in under 2 minutes. There is no timer, so you just have to be quick. You will need to use the dial around the viewfinder to focus the telescope at each landmark until the game recognizes and spins the cross-hairs within the viewfinder. This may be tricky to complete on your first attempt going in blind. Below is a description of how to best attempt navigating the telescope, as well as an image to go along with it showing the locations on screen and what exactly you should be looking for. Definitely read ahead a little here before starting the telescope sequence.

  1. From the start, head straight upwards until you see a fuzzy blackish object. Stop there and focus to see the obsidian obelisk.
  2. Then head down and to the right until you see some orange trees. Follow these orange trees down and to the left until the last one, which is actually an orange rock. Focus on this fiery rock.
  3. Then follow the orange trees back up and to the right. Once you reach the greyish cliff area, focus to see the bird made out of sticks and leaves.
  4. Now head quickly down to the very bottom of the screen. Place the view right between the "Instructions" tab and the "Gaze to the far southwest" tabs. Focus on this bird of sticks and leaves in the grassy area.
  5. Now move the view straight up to the very top of the screen and focus on the green vegetation on top of the muddy cliff.
  6. Finally, move the view down a tad and to the left to find a small village. Focus on it.

 Master Astronomer (10 points)
Line up all the planets in the celestial observatory in 15 moves or less.

*MISSABLE* You need to complete the solar system puzzle in 15 moves or less. The idea is to line up all 8 of the planets in their location on the left side of the sun. The set-up for the puzzle is like this:

Planets are numbered from their final locations on the left, 1 through 8, with 1 being the farthest to the left, and 8 being the farthest to right (closest to sun).

Switch 1 (top): Moves planets 1,4,8.
Switch 2: Moves planets 3,7.
Switch 3: Moves planets 1,6.
Switch 4 (bottom): Moves planets 2,5,7.

Hit the switches in this order for a total of 15 moves: Switch 1 x 7 times, Switch 2 x 1 time, Switch 3 x 2 times, and Switch 4 x 5 times.

*GLITCH WARNING* For some reason, this achievement just does not unlock when completing the requirements some times. If it doesn't unlock for you on the first attempt, try completing closing the entire game, relaunching it, and changing the difficulty and running back through the episode to this point to give it another go. Even this may not work. Two other possible solutions (or orders) you can try that will line the planets up in 15 moves are:

Alternative 1: Switch 2 x 1 time, Switch 3 x 2 times, Switch 1 x 7 times, Switch 4 x 5 times.
Alternative 2: Switch 1 x 3 times, Switch 3 x 6 times, Switch 4 x 5 times, Switch 2 x 1 time.

No Node Left Behind (5 points)
Complete the Blue Grotto orb game without losing a single node to an orange sphere.

This achievement requires that you complete the orb game in the Blue Grotto without losing a single node to an orange sphere. The Blue Grotto is towards the very end of Episode 5. The object of the game is to guide a ball of energy from one point to another across the screen, connecting all points. Your enemy will be orange spheres, which if they hit you connection from point to point while you are moving, it will get destroyed. There is three rounds and they get harder as you progress. The key is that there is no time limit. Just take your time and go slow, never taking a risk to get your energy to the next node. The good news is, if at any point you actually do get hit by an orange sphere, you can hit the "Restart" button in the top right corner to reset the round with no penalty. Just make sure you are quick to avoid the background auto saves. This should not be a problem however. There is no real solution for this one. With a little experimentation, timing, and patience, this achievement will be yours.

  Tap Tap Tap (5 points)
Pop 20 bubbles in the Orb Shifting game within the Jungle Cavern.

This achievement requires that you tap a cumulative total of 20 bubbles in the Orb Shifting game. This game is located in the Jungle Cavern, which is the area where you must remove the fallen rocks to proceed. After diverting the blue glow to the fallen rocks, click them to activate this puzzle. This puzzle involves tapping shapes when the orange color shrinks and "focuses" them. Bubbles only spawn from the diamond shapes, not the circles or squares. Tap them when the orange diamond focuses and bubbles will appear (anywhere from 3 to 8 per diamond). Then tap all of the bubbles as fast as you can. Getting 20 should be no problem for anyone. You will be making progress with nodes across the top of the screen from right to left. If you did not have 20 and are almost all the way to the finish on the left, mess up several nodes in a row. This will more you farther from the finish and allow more diamonds to spawn with bubbles for you to pop.

  Bridge Builder (5 points)
Complete the Vine Bridge game in only six moves.

This achievement requires that you rebuild the bridge in the second part of the episode in only 6 moves. Once you lower the vines to the left of the bridge, you need to hit them in a specific order to raise fix bridge. 9. In the courtyard scene, outside the Great Hall, move the screen all the way up and to the right to find this symbol carved into the rock wall.
  10. In the Great Hall scene, right above the blue face structure in front of you.

Balance Has Been Restored (30 points)
Stop the Elders' plot and save the Aderans from encapsulation.

*STORY-RELATED - CANNOT BE MISSED*

Get the item for Amaro so he can open the gate to the city:

  • Snake key - Amaro will talk to you and tell you Hawk got captured and you need to stop the Elder encapsulation process. After the cutscene, take this key from Amaro's hand.
  • MISSABLE ACHIEVEMENT WARNING: "Family Moment."
  • ADERA SYMBOL (8/10): There are some belt-type things laying on the bed in Amaro's hut. On the white part of one of them, you will find this symbol.
  • Glass kaleidoscope - Head all the way back to the cave with the blue fountain. Use the snake key on the locked box near the blue pool to get this.
  • Stone box key - Head into the swamp scene and zoom-in on the area to the left. Hand the glass kaleidoscope to Amaro. He will use it and return to you this key.
  • Crystal kaleidoscope - Head back into the invisible hut (must be in orb-view to enter) and zoom-in on the stone box. Use the stone box key to open it and get this item.
  • Head back to Amaro in the swamp and use the crystal kaleidoscope item on him. Click on the door and complete the puzzle to open it.
Confront the Elders in the Great Hall:
  • Blue artifact - Head into the new area, the Great Hall courtyard. Complete the Hidden Object scene to get this.
  • ADERA SYMBOL (9/10): In the courtyard, scroll your screen so you can see all the way to the upper right, above the animal statue. The symbol is carved into the wall here.
  • Use the blue artifact on the door straight ahead. Switch into Orb-view and tap on all 4 of the hidden blue locks on the door to open it. Head inside.
Destroy the encapsulation chambers:
  • ADERA SYMBOL (10/10): Right above the blue face structure, carved into the rock.
  • Aderan glyph piece (1/2) - Tap the Adera-shaped console in front of you to activate a puzzle behind you. Back out and look to your left to a pillar. Zoom-in on it. Go into Orb-view and complete the puzzle and collect this item.
  • Aderan glyph piece (2/2) - After completing the last puzzle, another will become active to your right. Click on the pillar and go into Orb-view to start this similar puzzle. Complete it and collect the item.
  • Make sure you have all 10 Adera symbols before proceeding. MISSABLE ACHIEVEMENT WARNING: "I've Definitely Seen This Before."
  • Now with both pieces, zoom-in on the Adera console and use the pieces on it. Complete the puzzle to finish the episode! MISSABLE ACHIEVEMENT WARNING: "Labyrinth Leader."
  • Achievement unlocked!

  True Mastery (15 points)
Complete Episode 5 on Trailblazer difficulty using no hints.

This achievement requires that you finish the game on Trailblazer difficulty. This must be set when you start a NEW game. On this difficulty, things don't sparkle or flash and hints and puzzle skips are disabled, making it more difficult to figure out what you need to do and complete the game. Use the walkthrough provided in the story-related achievements of this guide if you are stuck. You can also open up the Strategy Guide (if you have the Collector's Edition) at any point which will help guide you along or for puzzle solutions. Using the Strategy Guide does not affect any achievements. After completing the game from start to finish on Trailblazer difficulty, the achievement will pop as the credits begin.

  Fire Wire (5 points)
Complete the Glider Wire Puzzle and the Radicals’ Camp Wire Puzzle in less than one minute each.

This achievement requires that you complete the wire puzzle in the Glider AND the wire puzzle in the Radical's Camp both in under 1 minutes each in the same playthrough of the game. Each of these games have three rounds that get more difficult as you progress. You have 1 minute total to complete all three rounds. This minigame has the gameplay of a puzzle game called Flow if you have ever played that. Basically there are electrical nodes on a grid that must be connected with wires while not overlapping with other ones. Looking at the solutions, you should have no problem getting this achievement. The first wire puzzle is right at the beginning of the game in the glider. The second one is about half way through the episode, just after you talk to the Radicals. See the photos below for solutions. I found it easiest to draw out the short paths first and save the long ones for last.

Glider Wire Puzzle:

Radical's Camp Wire Puzzle:

 Blackout (5 points)
Fill every available space in all three levels of the Wire Puzzle on the falling glider.

This achievement requires that you completely fill the boards on all three rounds of the Glider Wire Puzzle with wires so that not even a single space is open. You do not need to actually complete the puzzle this way, just fill the board and hit the "reset" button in the top right corner of the screen. This should be done on a separate play of the game as doing this will prevent you from getting the "Fire Wire" achievement. This is no big deal because this is the episode's first mini-game and only takes about 30 seconds to reach from the start of the Episode. Start the mini-game, completely fill the first board, hit reset, complete the first board legit. Fill the second board up, hit reset, then complete it for real. Do the same with the third. The achievement will pop as soon as you fill up all spaces of the third board.

  Labyrinth Leader (5 points)
Complete the Maze Puzzle in the Great Hall with only 10 maze rotations.

This achievement requires that you complete the Maze Puzzle in the Great Hall by rotating the maze only 10 times. This is the game's final puzzle. You need to get a ball through a maze and into an exit hole. The catch is the rotation needed to do so. This makes it a very tricky puzzle and almost impossible to do in only 10 rotations without a solution. See the pictures below to make this achievement a breeze. In the pictures, where BOTH rotation and movement are occurring, do the movement first, then rotation.

NOTE: If you for some reason mess up this puzzle, do not worry because after you complete the game you can reload your last checkpoint, which is just moments before this puzzle. Make sure to hit "Continue Game" and NOT "New Game" to reattempt.
