  1. Had one from last night, from a random account, no Gamerscore. Most likely, they either have some automated system creating fake accounts tied to new email addresses, or cheap workers that get paid pennies an hour just making random accounts. Gamertags start as randomly assigned, generally with a numeric ID after some weird combination of words, and they don't have to pay anything for it. That's what happened with an Alt account of mine for boosting sessions. Just like any other scam on the internet, it costs nearly nothing to make thousands of accounts and gamertags. Nearly nothing to send out a thousand messages or more with each. And if they get 5 nibbles out of a million, they've probably made more than their initial investment scamming those people.
  2. If the glitch where no objectives appear ever happens to you, go to mission select, and select the latest mission. You may fall back a checkpoint or two, but it should get you back up and running. Had the same thing happen to me, and the above fixed it so I could continue on and beat the game. Now to grind out on Bane or on the Batcave to try and purchase the upgrades, ugh.
  3. Patch notes for 10/22 refer to this issue, so looks like anyone who hasn't gotten it yet, will have to do things the normal way. Back to the horrible grind again.
  4. Been a while since I played the game, but it's definitely broken in a few ways. And I did legitimately get 400/400. I remember having the flying bots appear, and somehow get at the one elevator at one of the stations. Somehow, it 'stopped' it from going all the way up. And when it went down, it went down an extra floor, thus keeping me from actually ever using it again, as it saved its bad state. Thankfully, restarting the level worked in clearing up, but it was a real WTF event in the game. The original was fun and unique, but the remake... not so much. Shame, too.

  6. Just got the achievement, and can confirm you do NOT need to do 72 or 78 different combinations. I had Bilbo as my primary character, and did all the dwarves, one after the other. I had attempted to do this previously, and did switch pairs (ones next to each other on the selection screen) and had Thorin as my primary the other time, but it didn't work then. I think the issue is that *YOU* have to be the one killing the enemy, not sudden deceleration when an enemy goes flying. Just knocking enemies around does not count. Easiest way to verify? Character Studs red brick. Just equip that specific brick. If studs don't appear, you haven't killed the enemy yourself. I'm also not certain whether who your current character is will matter, or if just having them in the buddy attack will matter. I ended up doing the team attack until I got studs, switched to the other character, did another team attack for studs, then changed the dwarf to the next in line. This seemed to do it.
  7. Following up on this, the Age Of Empires site has a forum for the new Castle Siege. Knowing is half the battle, so here's a link to a post there entitled "Age of Empires: Castle Siege 101 - FAQs about in-game mechanics": http://www.ageofempires.com/Forums/yaf_postst1798_Age-of-Empires--Castle-Siege-101.aspx
  8. Just started today. Note this game is in NO WAY, NO SHAPE, and NO HOW an Age Of Empires game. If you played any of the series, including AoEO (R.I.P.) or even the DS version, don't expect anything except window dressing and reskinning to have a hint of AoE history. Everyone says it is a Clash Of Clans clone. Although I have not played that specific game, I've played many of its type, particularly flash-based ones on Kongregate. Basic idea: You are given a town/castle, some starting resources, and some starting buildings that work to store and to generate resources. Building costs an initial outlay of resources, then you have a REAL-LIFE timer that counts down (unless you pay Premium currency, 'Gold'). Upgrading is the same deal. Things appear locked until you upgrade your main building (the Keep), which apparently advances your 'Age' of your empire. Tutorial shows most basic gameplay, and once you get to the end where you upgrade your keep, your first achievement will unlock (Get to Age #2). Combat seems extremely basic, and I don't know if you can actively defend your town; it seems it's just you against the AI when you go on offense. I also do not know what the costs are if someone raids your town; you have to tap to repair them, but I don't know if you lose resources, stop gaining them, and/or have to pay to rebuild. Probably not the latter, given you could get into a unwinnable situation if the RNG keeps targeting you with the random attackers. Given that raiding and attacking others is a big part of the achievements, I'm wondering if heavily raiding early on, particularly to get the 2,000 crowns achievement, is a good idea. It's also questionable whether you need 2,000 crowns at once, or just cumulatively won without subtracting any losses. In all, it's another waitfest that seems to apply the veneer of AoE over a base of a broken gameplay system.
  9. Just got the 'spell', and used it on the quest rock you are supposed to break with it. What you need to do while adventuring is to use Right-stick down (not click), then Right-stick up AND HOLD. While holding it, angle the left stick around slowly, until the object starts shaking. Adjust the angle of the left stick until the screen shakes, and then just hold it there. It will then go off and destroy the object.
  10. Tundra - Cryodome - Missing Achievements Two found so far that aren't listed, and both are pretty close to the very start of the level. "COBRA Final Lair" File Card First area. By the tank is a small gate/arch you'll go through, with B.A.T. spawners on the wall nearby. More gates/arches are further down, but the very first gate hides this card. It's just barely past the gate on the right side, by the mountain/wall part. Make sure you jump out of the tank to try and find this one. "Strato Viper" File Card First area. Somewhat close to the Cobra Commander File Card, though I think it is before it. In the general area of where you have to blow up the five generators. Specifically, near the force field gate that disables after destroying the generators. Gate is to the left, and a building-like thing with two indestructible bulwarks is to the right. The File Card is hidden somewhat behind these two bulwarks.
  11. Jungle Fuel - Countdown - Incorrect Location. "Sgt. Flash Location Intel" is not given outright, or in the middle of a pathway, etc. The location above is flat-out wrong, as is another site that tends to outright steal content from other sites. This is NOT before the first checkpoint, after disabling the shields. This is a bit after that point . Specifically, right by the area where you have to take down 3 generators to continue. The generators continue past a building, with the last generator in the corner area. Returning, you can pass around the building on the other side (right side), leading back to a doorway. I believe this required a soldier like Duke to open (why I missed the first time around), but for some reason, returning on Casual mode had the door wide open for me. The Intel was inside.
  12. Anyone know what this update is for? I'm through a good bit of it, on the second-to-last shark with a few gemmed items purchased. Given how close I am, I'm wary Note that I haven't been using any time glitches to quickly get stuff from the chest, so if that gets patched with the update, I don't mind. I WOULD mind losing progress or items or earned money, given how stingy the game is.
  13. Crab To beat the crab, you have to basically trick it into swiping at you about 3 times or so. Get close, move out of the way so it attacks, and repeat a few times. It will get tired if it doesn't touch you, and reveal its weak spot. Sort of looks like a gem or something on top of it. Dash into it to do damage. Have to do it a few times (2 or 3?) to win. Problem is, I think I read that if you beat it, it gets larger/more dangerous, so probably best NOT to do this until you have a quest or whatever to do so.
  14. [edited - learned that Megalodon eats all but the largest mines; no need for gold rush] There's a few areas that always appear to have mines. One in particular, right of center of the map near the surface, has about 4-5 sets of mines in clusters of three, which is a nice chunk towards that mission. They should respawn after a bit as well, so it may be a good idea to scarf them up, head back to the left to find some other hunting grounds for a bit, then return to the right after a few minutes to see if they respawn.
  15. Desert Jewel - Bonus Delta - Missing collectibles Two collectibles at the very start of the level, right before the bridge. Specifically, to the left of the bridge is a bonus box, and it is near a path. Follow to the left, and you will find a Commando Door. Unlock it to find: 1) Weather Dominator File Card (left side) 2) COBRA Mole Pod File Card (right side)
