  1. Hey guys, thanks for the feedback! @ChernobylCow You are absolutely right, in hindsight, I should have gone into more depth in specific levels, but do keep in mind this is an Achievement Guide, not a game guide. All I've done is elaborate on what has to be done to get an achievement. The only map that I thought it was necessary to go into more detail on was for the Black Hole achievement. If you do need more help on strategies for particular levels, you can go to the hemisphere games website, and look at the updates and FAQ section, where some of the harder levels have been examined closely. @ivegotalobon I actually put a lot of thought into the difficulty rating. Rating something like Osmos as 8 or 9 for achievement difficulty can't be justified, since different people are going to experience the game, and the progression at a completely different level. One person may breeze through, while another may never be able to finish it. Keeping in mind that the levels are in some cases Randomly Generated, there is no way to accurately depict their difficulty, thus, I gave it an average rating.
  2. For those who haven't played Flowerz yet, the browser based game can be found at: http://zone.msn.com/en/flowerz/default.htm Having a look at the list, it shouldn't be very hard at all to get the full 200g, it looks like either a lot of thought has gone in, or none at all... The only thing that I can see hindering this game is the pricing. As a free browser game, I can't see Microsoft making us pay, and with the same take on achievements as Tinker, (200g, 15 Achievements) I can see a trend forming... and I like it. The core game mechanic isn't much to swoon over, but it does get quite tricky towards the harder levels, which gives it that all important addictive element. Let's hope the God awful music get's a do-over too... All in all, this does look promising... Here's hoping Microsoft get it right.
  3. The steam version has it's own achievements which work with steam alone... You do need to buy Osmos from the GFWL service to get access to the LIVE features.
  4. Just think about how many people would have bought Where's Waldo (or wally) for the fact it had achievements. It's obviously a simple fact that games with achievements will sell better... Obviously M$ and Ubisoft has not realised this... (ps. Where's Waldo was AWESOME....)
  5. Yeah the lack of LIVE functionality is rubbish... it might have taken 2-3 days of work to get achievements and such in the games... Besides, ALL of these games (with the possible exceptions of PoP 1 & 2 Games) can be bought at retail for much less... How about adding finally adding the full Gears of War and Halo 2 games to the Marketplace, instead of putting up games that don't even use the platform? Cheers for milking the money cow again MS
  6. Never mind... i feel like an idiot now... but still.... right at the bottom of the screen.... sigh....
  7. Although the GFWL system isn't nearly as popular as the Xbox360 for achievements and such, maybe a new forum could be opened for those who want to trade achievements, talk tactics , meet fellow PC GFWL users, etc... Although each PC Game in most cases has an achievement trading thread or something similar, there isn't a central location. This is understandable as Games For Windows Live is still a developing service, but it is hard to ignore the increase in it's popularity amoungst the X360a users. So yeah, a new forum be opened for us PC Gamers... we like achievements too...
  8. The new games on the service are; Age Of Empires III - Complete Collection Assassin's Creed 2 Max Payne 2 Borderlands Splinter Cell Conviction Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas S.T.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of Chernobyl Prince of Persia: Sands of Time - 75% off (300msp) Prince of Persia: Warrior Within - 75% off (300msp) Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands These games can be purchased and downloaded through the Games for Windows client which can be downloaded HERE EDIT: Although these games are sold in the Games for Windows LIVE marketplace, they have no LIVE functionality (achievements, parties, and friends etc...) Thanks to R43LM4D21D for confirming

This will unlock once "Two intro levels", "Force Reception", "Artificial Life" and "Ambient Welcome" have been finished. These levels are intentionally easy, and serve as an introduction to all of the different styles of play in Osmos. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/1291/-hFjEQ==.jpgVoyager (20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg) Unlock all zones. This unlocks once all of the blacked-out zones are displayed. More specifically, once you finish "Force Ascension", "Ambient Tour" and "Survival of the Fittest". http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/1291/-DBqpA==.jpgBlack Hole Sun (20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg) Collapse the system in level F2-3 by feeding the Attractor. This is the only non-progress related achievement in the game, and is quite a challenge to obtain. You have to launch parts of yourself INTO the attractor. Once the attractor reaches a certain size, the rest of the system will start to spiral and collapse into the Attractor. However, you have to stay well out of the way of the gravitational pull. The achievement will unlock when most of the system (apart from you) has been sucked into the attractor. You can restart the level once the achievement has unlocked. You cannot win after a system collapse. If you miss out on this achievement, just select the F2O-3 level at the menu and try again. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/1291/+ypxJw==.jpgPurity (20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg) Complete all Ambient zones. You have to complete all fifteen levels in the Ambient Zone; -Ambient Welcome (2) -Ambient Tour (4) -Deep Ambient (3) -Ambient Impasse (3) -Antimatter (3) Once you have completed all 15 of these levels, the achievement will unlock. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/1291/+sqJtA==.jpgGravitronics (20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg) Complete all Force zones. You have to complete all fourteen levels in the Force Zone; -Force Reception (2) -Force Ascension (3) -Zen Attractors (3) -Warped Chaos (3) -Epicycles (3) Once you have completed all 14 of these levels, the achievement will unlock. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/1291/-m5-9g==.jpgFittest (20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg) Complete all Sentient zones. You unlock the Forever levels by completing the game. (Finishing all tier 3 zones) You should take your time, plan ahead, and be sure to manage your mass very effectively. The rest will come down to luck. You must complete three levels in all three of the zones to unlock the last four achievements. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/1291/s1.jpg<String text> (0 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg ) <String text> This achievement is unattainable. This is the official announcement "There isn’t actually a 12th achievement; Osmos only has 11. Sorry, but for some reason GFWL is showing a 12th, 0-point, secret “dummy” achievement. The full 200 points are spread across the existing 11 acheivement though, and we may add a few more in a title update down the line." There has been no more news on a possible fix or update.
  10. Hey everyone! This is my first guide, and i hope it helps a lot of you out. I've noticed a distinct lack of Osmos achievement guides on the internet, so i thought i'd try it out. Please provide feeback, I am interested in making guides for other GFWL PC games that haven't got them, and any comments complaints will be addressed in these future guides. Thankyou, and i hope this helps! Happy Gaming Sgt Skellboy -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Osmos Achievement Guide by sgt skellboy Roadmap Overview Difficulty: 5/10 Offline Achievements: 11 (200G) Online Achievements: 0 Estimated time for 200: 5-10 Hours Number of playthroughs Needed: 1 Number of missable achievements: 0 Glitched Achievements: 1 Do cheat codes affect achievements? No Cheats Does Difficulty affect Achievements? No NOTE: You must have an active internet connection at all times to Save your game , and earn Achievements. Glitched Achievements: There is one achievement which has NO criteria for unlocking. It is shown as a secret achievements in the list, but it is unattainable. The developers have commented as seen on threads in the forum, but have no plans to change it. So for anybody looking to get 100% in Osmos, bad luck. (The unattainable achievement is worth 0g, so you can still get the full 200G.) Time: This is hard to gauge. The 200G takes monumental skill and/or luck. However, it IS possible with a little time and effort. A lot of persistence is required. A LOT. It will only take 1 or 2 hours to unlock all the levels, but it will take a whole lot longer to finish them. Conclusion: This game will get annoying. But if you see past the difficulty mountain, and the long levels, you will learn to love it.
  11. Needs more information and a little polish. 1. 2. 3. Hey everyone! This is my first guide, and i hope it helps a lot of you out. 12. This has to be the only GFWL game that doesn't have glitched achievements. Some may confused the achievements as glitched or not unlocking, but you do need an internet connection while saving and earning achievements. As for Black hole sun: You have to collapse the system in F2O-3. This means that you have to launch parts of yourself INTO the attractor. I'm writing up the achievement guide for Osmos, which should be up soon. Cheers. If you have any questions, just post em below and ill help as best i can.
