  1. Finally got Low Scorer on play 1485. I've made it to Olmec collecting 0 gold several times but i always get screwed over by either collecting a hidden gem on the way down, getting stunned on his final hit (not sure what causes this sometimes) or one of the many other many ways the game finds to kill you. This time I was very fortunate to get a Jetpack from a psychic presense level. I made it to Olmec with 12 bombs and i blew a safe path straight to the bottom while Olmec waited in the corner. Took me about 400 attempts after I finished my first hell run to get this done but I've honestly been having so much fun I'l probably still be playing this game for a long time to come.
  2. It'd be nice if anyone had any helpful tips on how to do this. I can't seem to get the input right whenever I try to replicate the ladder jump yet I jump off ladders all the time just pressing A to drop off the damn things.
  3. First speedrun I actually completed was 56:23. Then the day after I managed sub 50 barely with 49:59. I watched a couple WR runs and adapted some of their strategies. Four runs later I wound up with a time of 32:57 and I had several time costly errors. My splits were as follows. World 2 - 3:07 World 3 - 9:41 World 4 - 14:47 World 6 - 22:21 World 5 - 27:25 World 1 - 32:57 It seems I could save much more time if I could get that ladder jump to shorten a few puzzle solutions but I only seem to get them done when I DON'T want a ladder jump. This game is very fun to Speed Run so by those intimidated by the 45:00 mark just get your first run over with and then practise a few shortcut strategies. It's also good to practise the other Speed Run levels until you can get under the target time. With a few good strategies and a little persistence, sub 45 is completely possible.
  4. I've noticed this too during some of my Low Scorer/Speedlunky runs. If the passage you are using for the quick strat is too narrow sometimes Olmec will stun you on his last hit before he falls into the lava. There were no enemies to hit me and stun me im sure and I fired a rope on my last jump too so I really can't see any other cause. One time so far I got really lucky and managed to grab the side of Olmecs head, after being stunned, as he was sinking into the lava and made it out of the pit in time.
  5. It'd be nice if someone completed the secret areas thread. It would be immensely useful for those looking to complete insane solo mode or just to find the secret levels. I know you find them in the levels with the one eyed red birds but some levels i can't for the life of me locate the secret exits.
  6. Looking to trade with any player. Feel free to add me.
  7. You can land on the very very edge of a spike block without dying. It might take a few tries to get exactly on the edge but unless you're doing a finale or going for A+ this shouldn't matter as you're not being times anyways. I know this may be considered cheating by some but its helped me skip a few parts of some of the harder sections as well as grab a few more gems and yarn easier than normal. Just thought i'd share.
  8. It turns out my last melee attack for the achievement was a low kick. I had to land several in order for it to be deemed successful it seems. Try doing it again and again as the games definition of successfull seems to be a bit spotty.
  9. In the stats screen it shows how many times you've landed an attack/been attacked. I was browsing through it and it tracks all the melee attacks listed as well as Horse Kick. Not sure if that counts towards it or not but ty looking at your stats screen and see what you're missing. For some reason my low kick count is 0 even though i've landed several low kicks so the tracker might just be a bit buggy.
  10. Just found one of the secret achievements Secret Finder 10g in level 3-9. Theres a secret level portal to find somewhere
  11. The achievements don't seem too hard although you have to play through normal and insane mode in both single player and coop . Theres some online too like win 100 arena matches which are short but will still take time. The only other one i can see that could be time consuming would be freeing all the prisoners as there seems to be a lot of them.
  12. Its great! If you've played the PDA games from Alien Hominid this game is essentially built off that but with much more! The gameplay is simple and fun but theres also some pretty challenging levels and a hardcore mode. The humor in this game is great too the narrators very amusing. I would recommend to anyone who loved castle crashers. The animations are great too!
  13. This is for Fiona's campaign. In order to get to the grinding spot you must have beaten Golobolus and have access to the Wraith cave as well as the Spider Cloak artifact. This is suggested for after beating the campaign so Fiona is level 9 or 10 and your base units are level 5. Random encounters in the cave will pit you up against a level 6-10 enemy with level 5 units, a level 5 Vampire and a level 5 Ghost. Since you have the Spider Cloak equipped all of your units will outclass the enemies units and can even destroy charging Vampires and Ghosts. Summoning a level 2 or higher champion unit pretty much guarantees a win so just focus on building champion units and then build as many walls/attack units as you can. At level 6 the ai is a joke and will waste turns while level 10 you have to be on guard a little. Each battle will net you 460-560 xp and most battles you can win without trying. I managed to get all of my units to level 5 within a couple hours using this method. I hope this helps shorten the grind for some of you. Happy achievement hunting
  14. Still need the 2v2 online achievement. I've already got two others so just need one more person.
  15. That rage in the second video was hilarious. Looks awesome though thanks for posting this. I'l be picking this up for sure! Always been curious about the game after playing Super Meat Boy.
  16. Are these even obtainable anymore? I'd like to knock out a few of the online achievements in the game if I can.
  17. I don't understand how this works... if you have the patch installed and are only missing a few coins isn't it very likely you've already picked up this glitched coin? I have 140 coins left im wondering should I avoid those coins to perform the glitch? As of right now on trueachievements.org just over 300 out of 15,000 have recieved the achievement so is there anything I should maybe look for? If this works then thank you I'l be trying it regardless when I near the end of my coin hunting. Edit: This method worked! After collecting all 117 gold coins i was missing 20 ancient coins. There are two coins that respawn using this method the first one mentioned and another one on a boat just below the bridge. Took just under an hour to get my last 20 coins using this method.
  18. Wow worst death yet! Got to 5-4 with 8 health,3 bombs, a shotgun, $488,100 and everything else I could possibly need. As it starts I bomb Ox and Horse and both of their bombs fall into the lava. I climbed up both sides and managed to take out his fists then start to try to shoot his face with my shotgun (I had no bombs left at this point). I got in one hit but got struck by debree right before I was about to get under cover. I watched myself bounce to the bottom of the screen then get juggled back between a couple Magma men until my health reached zero. Second time I've been to hell. My other death in Hell 5-3 wasn't that much fun either.
  19. Any death where the shopkeeper randomly goes berserk and kills you when you've done nothing! I got to the Black Market with a considerable amount of gold and 5 seconds after entering they're bouncing off the walls calling me a terrorist because one got hit offscreen by an enemy or something. The shopkeeper is a prick! You make one wrong move like lay a bomb that destroys a block slightly too close to his shop or safe or he gets hit by a random projectile (even off screen) and you might as well end your run there. Why does the shopkeeper have to be so crazy??
  20. (WIP) Would appreciate any assistance/feedback to guiding this roadmap. No other roadmap has been written or submitted so I will answer the call. Overview - Estimated achievement difficulty: 7.5/10 - Offline: 13/15 (220:gsicon:) - Online: 2/15 (30) - Approximate amount of time to 1000:gsicon:: 10-20 hours - Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 1 - Number of missable achievements: None - Do cheat codes disable achievements?: No Cheats - Does difficulty affect achievements?: Ring Master requires medal runs on all 3 difficulties - Glitchy achievements: None - Unobtainable achievements: None - Extra equipment needed?: 4 controllers required + DLC Introduction: Hydro Thunder: Hurricane is a great sequel to the classic arcade cabinet/N64 title Hydro Thunder. The game features fearsome competitive boat racing on dangerous over the top tracks. Each boat is equipped with a boost power-up that can both launch your boat forward and skyward to obtain optimal speed and access shortcuts/hidden areas. To obtain the full gamerscore will require some patience and dedication to learning all of the tracks optimal routes and shortcuts. Difficulty: The game has three difficulties to choose from (Novice, Pro, Expert) each offering its own class of racing machines and ai difficulty. The individual Races and Guantlets can be played on any difficulty to obtain a Gold medal in each of the 8 courses. The ring master tracks however, have unique routes for each class of boat and medals must be earned on each corresponding difficulty. The tournaments have class restrictions and offer a mixed bunch of events. Getting a gold medal on a novice track will prove much easier than obtaining one on expert level so practicing with each class of boat will be a must if you even hope to obtain bronze medals on the expert tournaments. Extra Achievement Notes: Simply playing through the events you will be able to net most of the single player achievements by following the posted guide. There are a few extra tips I would like to add that aren't included in the guide that should aid your achievement endeavors. Special Delivery: I would recommend just doing these in single player races following the guide linked under the description. In single player races you must finish the event before the hidden packages will save. You can use restart and the packages will still be collected but if you quit to menu the packages will not count. Other than that you can freely explore the race without any worry of the ai finishing before you. The race doesn't end until you cross the finish line so no need to rush things. Golden Delicious: A helpful tip for this would be the use of restart. You can use restart on individual events if you are having a rough attempt and you won't have to restart the entire tournament. DLC Art Critic: If you are having a difficult time using the Thresher for this event I would recommend using the Razorback. The Thresher boat requires quite a precise run whereas the Razorback has enough speed to get to the final statue without needing a near flawless lap. Conclusion: Most of the achievements will come easily enough but to get "Medal Master" and "Golden Delicious" will require a lot of patience and practice to obtain particularly on the Expert Ring Master and Tournament events. Happy racing!
  21. I would say yes finish Book 2: Earth before playing the game. The game will have considerable spoilers and im sure you'll enjoy the game more if you've finished the series and know whats happening because the games story is a little sparse of character and story development unlike the show. Enjoy the rest of Avatar its a great series!
  22. Thanks for the tips but i tried that. This part is rather broken on the ranger difficulties as Miller dies quite quick. Its useless shooting the pods because it took a full assault rifle clip to take out one (there are more enemies too on ranger difficulties and much much less ammo). The first part i eventually managed to pass but the basement level afterwards kicked my ass as i had nearly no ammunition after the last part. Running ahead to collect the ammo staches was a death trap. I regrettably had to switch it to easy for this one part.
  23. I just played through the game on Ranger Easy, well most of it anyways i got frustrated at the amoeba part in D6 and switched it to easy to get through and then changed it back to ranger easy after. No achievement! Dang. Oh well i have to do another playthrough for enlightened anyways.
  24. I cant for the life of me pass this part! When the trolley takes you to the bottom floor there will be rubble blocking you from the elevator. You partner tells you that we need to go around but to move carefully and to watch each others back. He is so fucking stupid. He waddles in a straight line and gets himself killed because he marches straight into them. As far as covering goes im lucky if he can hit one or two every 15 seconds as they're mobbing us. He dies every time and when i try to cover him theres just too many even going all out he just goes too slow and eventually 5 or 6 will just hit him at once and he drops dead. Can someone offer any advice how to get past this part? Im playing on ranger easy and i bought the heavy armor in polis but they do alot of damage when they explode so i take one or maybe two hits max before im down.
