  1. To unlock 'Hard' Difficulty for Worlds 2-4, you need to use 'Special Techniques' on the final bosses in Worlds 1-3. These are as follows: When fighting the Forest Shredder, reflect one of the sticks of dynamite it throws back at its face. When fighting the Wolf King, destroy one of the crumbling platforms when he’s standing on it, so that he falls to the floor below and gets damaged. When fighting Axel Gear, catch him in the blast of his glowing purple orb attack. Source: https://woodyplays.com/2021/10/09/rocket-knight-cheats/
  2. There isn't much in the way of guides available for this game. One thing that helps in your efforts is to know how to get extra lives. So, I'm taking note of where in this game I found the Extra Lives. Those are the round Collectibles with Rocket Knight's face on a black background. They will increase your current number of lives (visible as 'x?' below Rocket Knight's face on the top-left corner). You lose a life when you lose all your hearts, upon which your hearts are refilled and you respawn at the last checkpoint you hit. Gathering all gems of either color give you an extra life as well. If you collect all gems of both colors you get two extra lives. 1.1 - Countryside Straight up right at the beginning of the level. High up in the trees, shortly before the large wooden structure you enter. Late in the level, to the bottom-right of the huge crane. 1.2 - Tree Tops Around 2:45, on the top-right platform of a series of three platforms with rocket-shooting wolves. 1.3 - Zephyrus City In the second part of the level, you're in a large treehouse-like structure. In the bottom-right corner of that, just before stepping on the first rope-powered elevator. In the fourth part of the level, right after the Board in the background saying "B when rail hanging to Rail Spin", jump into a gap in the ceiling, and Rocket Burst diagonally to the top. 1.4 - Forest Shredder None. 2.1 - The Counter Attack Early on in the level, on top of the shipmast. After destroying the rocks to reactivate the machine to power a lift, ride the lifts to the top, then go left and drop down. 2.2 - Airship Armada Around 1:15, hidden behind a low-hanging cloud. 2.3 - Wolf Fortress At the start of the level, after clearing the first obstacle, Rocket Burst diagonally to the top. After climbing several rotating wheels, when you Rocket Burst diagonally against a moving wall. Turn back left, jump on the moving wall, and then Rocket Burst further left. 2.4 - The Wolf King None. 3.1 - Pig Bunker In the large area filled with hot orange pipes, after Rocket Bursting diagonally upward against a number moving platforms, and after sliding on a few rails, go right (instead of left). There is a dead end with a few gems and an Extra Life. In clear view, when going through one of the teleporters later in the level. Drop down from the lever, if you Rocket Burst upwards you can avoid damage from the orange. 3.2 - Syberswine Labs After clearing the section with a lot of moving platforms and laser barriers, Rocket Burst to the top left side of a large area, to reveal a small room. In clear view, in the sequence where you run right to stay ahead of moving laser barriers. 3.3 - Axel Gear None. 4.1 - The Pig Fleet Around 2:45, right after the large ship in the background, embedded in a minefield. 4.2 - Enslaved City When climing upwards in the first area, stick to the left side, and jump up high from the blue bar. 4.3 - Final Boss! None.
  3. Which accesories belong to which categories? This wasn't clear to me, at first. I figured the Symbol shapes might have something to do with it, which I confirmed by recording Cooldowns of abilities with and without the 'Quick Melee', 'Quick Magic' and 'Quick Enchantment' (using a built-in stopwatch on my phone). So it's: Melee Accessories: Diamond Symbols Magic Accesories: Round Symbols Enchantment Accesories: Hexagon Symbols Passive Accesories: Rectangle Symbols Fun Fact #1: Quick Draw (Level 5) seems to have a much stronger Cooldown Reduction than Quick Magic (Level 5). For instance, it reduces Fireball from +/- 21s to +/- 10s, whereas Quick Magic only reduced it to +/- 16s. However, the workings of Quick Draw are unclear to me. It's description says "any" but that's inaccurate. It found it reduced at least the Cooldowns of Fireball and Mirror Image, but didn't reduce the Cooldowns of other Accesories in those same categories. Fun Fact #2: The Quick Enchantment seems not to work on each of the abilities in the category. For instance, I found no effect on Mirror Image and Magic Protection. In short, 'Quick Melee' (and similar effects) is good with Diamond Symbols, 'Quick Magic' (and similar effects) is good with the Round Symbols, 'Quick Enchantment' (and similar effects) is good with the Hexagon Symbols. 'Quick Draw' might be amazing, but it depends on which skills you're using, so you should maybe test it before committing to it.

Return to Orphea Castle in 9 minutes. The Behemoth ... Twilight Wastelands Defeat the giant troops. Wipe out the Twilight Wasteland ghosts. Defeat 2,000 enemies. --- (Pops at end of the level.) Orphea Castle Interior Defeat the wizards. --- (In the North.) Defeat all wizards. --- (In the North.) Defeat all the giant troops. Dark Judgment ... Colosseum ... Sephia: Orphea Castle Dungeon Defeat all the defenders. Open all sealed doors. Open all sealed doors in the shortest amount of time. Holy Mountain Defeat the giant troops. --- (In the North.) Twilight Wasteland Defeat all the Twilight Wasteland wizards. Defeat the giant troops. Defeat 1,000 enemies. Escape from the Twilight Wastelands within 20 minutes. Sin ... Colosseum ... Zazi: Feydei Road Head to Tramont with Elf unit. Defeat enemy shield troops and rescue advance unit. --- (In the centre of the map, behind the gap you can't cross.) Defeat all enemies. Save all Elf soldiers. Reach Tramont in 10 minutes. Tramont Defeat the ambushers. --- (In the centre of the map.) Snipe enemies and back up allied troops. --- (From the upper level of the circular area, snipe enemies in the East.) Defeat enemies in vicinity and rescue the villagers. --- (In the North-East.) Rescue all villagers. Reach the clock tower in 15 minutes. Ensure all allied units survive. --- (I think the allies from the 'Snipe' Quest count too, and they're the hardest to keep alive. You should probably equip Heroic Might 5) Holy Mountain Defeat the giant troops. --- (In the North.) Defeat the cavalry captain in the ruins. --- (In the South-East.) Defeat 100 enemies with the statue. --- (There's 4 statues buried in the snow throughout this level. Snipe the head from behind, it will fall off and crush some enemies for you.) Defeat the summoners. --- (In the North-West.) Colunei Canyon Escort the allied reinforcements to the ruins. --- (In the South.) Defeat the wizards and stop the reinforcements. --- (In the West.) Rescue allies from the sandstorm approaching from the rear. --- (In the South.) Ensure all allied units survive. --- (Rush towards the big open plains, then escort your allies to the ruins, quickly kill the 5 wizards. Then back to the open plains, and rescue the allies from the sandstorm approaching from the rear. You'll need a few good spells to instantly kill the groups of enemies blocking your path.) Destroy the sandstorm generators and escape. --- (In the North. The trap is the dead end path which is close to the start of the mission, but unreachable at first. Go right at the first junction you come across to reach it.) Avoid being damaged by the sandstorms. Verdei Keep Defense Rescue allied troops. --- (In the North-East.) Snipe enemies and back up allied troops. --- (To complete this you need to snipe a group of birds that spawns around 9:30, in the South-East, a flies towards the North-West. You can easily spot and shoot them from the North-East Altar.) Defend all Altars of Protection. --- (Hardest Side Quest in the game, imo. Better have your Character, Weapon and Accessories maxed out before you try this. I think Heroic Might is essential for this, as Zazi's 'Sniping' Ability is the best way to kill the many bird thingies that chip down the altars. It allows allows you to destroy spawning towers from any distance in 1-3 hits. Also, Wind Walk, since you have to run back and forth between the Altars several times. I think Impaler with Ice Slash and Ice Storm is really strong in general. On this level, Lightning Bolt is probably worth (also good at killing birds). I also used Radiant Sphere, Magic Empower and Cold Chant, but I'm not too sure about those. With a good build, you simply need to learn the paths between the Altars, know the switch to hit to open an important set of gates, learn when to be where, and where all the spawning towers are planted. You'll eventually be succesfull.) Orphea Castle Interior Rescue allied troops. --- (In the South.) Rally the troops and head for the royal chamber. --- (In the South.) Rescue allied troops. --- (In the South-East.) Colosseum ... Levv: Fort Seratem Defeat the wizards and rescue the allied troops. --- (In the South-East.) Defeat all enemies and escape from the trap. --- (In the East.) Defeat all wizards. Avoid being damaged by the poison mist. --- (Pops at end of the level.) Crystal Cave Wipe out the enemy and back up allied troops. --- (In the South-West.) Defeat the wizards and stop the reinforcements. --- (In the North-West.) Defeat 3 giants. --- (In the South.) Avoid being damaged by the magic cannons. --- (Pops at end of the level.) Colunei Canyon Destroy all the summoning towers. Defeat the wizards in the ruins. Avoid being damaged by the sandstorms. Fort Seratem Defense Stop the wizards from invading the fort. --- (In the South. Defend the bridge, ground level.) Wipe out all airborne enemies. --- (In the South. Defend the bridge, the raised walkway.) Wipe out the giant troops. --- (In the South. Keep defending the bridge until a group of Giants spawns, and defeat them. The other Giants who attack the Altars later on are irrelevant for this Quest.) Defeat all enemies and escape from the trap --- (In the East.) Defend all Altars of Protection. --- (Pretty Hard. I got this by ignoring the North-West Altar completely. First, succesfully defend the bridge. Don't forget to take out the Wizard on the upper level on the front side of the bridge, or he'll keep spawning more birds iirc. Then stick at the South-Eastern Altar for a long time. For the last few minutes, stick on the North-Eastern Altar (which is taking too much damage at this point).) Orphea Castle Interior Rescue allied troops. --- (In the centre of the map.) Colosseum ... Maggni: Forest of the Lost Ambush the enemy from the hidden path. --- (Take the detour in the North-East.) Rescue all villagers. Tramont Defeat enemies in vicinity and rescue the villagers. --- (In the North-West.) Escort the villagers to the safe house. --- (In the North.) Rescue all villagers. --- (In the North.) Escape from the enemy trap. --- (In the North-West.) Defeat all enemies. --- (During the defense, run down the stairs and destroy all the spawning towers, then clean up everything. Just keep on the tower's health, and don't forget to kill the cavalry that spawned behind the tower.) Complete the mission with as little damage to the tower as possible. --- (Success confirmed at 76%+) Crystal Cave Wipe out the enemy and back up the allied troops. --- (In the centre of the map.) Ensure all allied units survive. --- (Not easy, you can't leave your allies for long to destroy the spawning towers. Especially the giants have to be kept away from them.) Colunei Canyon Rescue allied troops in trouble. Ensure all allied troops survive. --- (First, clean up every enemy in the large area near the South of the map. Your allies spawn when you're walking further South. Backtrack quickly when you get the message, and spam your skills to prevent any ally from dying.) Avoid being damaged by the sandstorms. Join up with Galen within 10 minutes. --- (Just skip the ruins.) Tramont Defense Protect allied troops until the gate closes. --- (At the South-East Altar.) Rescue the northern altar allied troops. --- (At the North Altar.) Defeat the wizards and stop the reinforcements. --- (There's 6 wizards around the tower, when you have some time, find and kill them.) Defeat all wizards. --- (Don't forget the wizards on the two rooftops in the centre of the map.) Defend all Altars of Protection. --- (Pretty hard. I got this by first clearing one of the rooftops, then defending the South-Eastern Altar until the gate closes. Clear the remaining enemies, then run North-West, clear the other rooftop, then defend the North Altar for a while. When you get a message about the North Altar being surrounded, rush over to the South-East (!), clear the enemies there, then more or less keep running between the two altars to induce enemies to chase you instead of damage them, occasionally clearing a group or two that get through and are dealing damage (keep an eye on the percentages!).) Orphea Castle Gates Rescue allied troops. --- (At the start of the level, keep killing enemies near the Gate until this pops.) Wipe out the wizard unit. --- (In the centre of the map.) Colosseum ... 5. I know the game is ancient, and maybe no one cares anymore, but I liked it enough to try and collect (almost) all the items. And it was surprising I couldn't find any decent list of the items and where to find them. I'll take a shot at making the best one yet, even though this too will be incomplete. I'll list all the items in the game, broken down in categories and providing some comments. Then I'll provide a list of items and known locations for each character, so you can easily check which easy finds you're missing and where to get them. I've marked points of uncertainty (?), if anyone knows more about those I'd love to know. I'm especially interested in finding out of others have run into the same problems I've marked as 'Possibly bugged'. Below the 'Item Sets' and 'Special Items' I'll list items under the tag 'Unknown Source', I have those in my inventories but I don't remember how I got them. It's to show which items are definitely possible to obtain on the character, even though I can't tell you how to. Weapons - Rare All Weapons are unique to their character. Nearly all are either found in Chests, as mission rewards, or dropped by specific enemies. Most are easy to collect, except perhaps for a few which require S Ranks. Characters start with a Default Weapon, but have a total of 5-8 different Weapons, except for Vigk Vagk, who doesn't use Weapons at all. Tiered Items - Common These items (seemingly) drop randomly for any possible enemy, and therefor can be collected with relative ease on all characters. The higher tiers can be quite rare, in fact the only ones I found the highest tier of are Fleet Boots, War Gloves and Ward Cloak (after having 100%'d the game). Your chances of finding these are probably improved by using Hourglass, Clover 1-3 and Divine Tiara but I don't have evidence. Some of these items are also found in Chests, as mission rewards, etc. The highest tiers of these are exceedingly rare. I have played this game a lot, and I've only found 1x Aegis Charm 3, 1x Clover 3, 1x Ward Cloak 3. Aegis Charm 1-4 --- Defense +X% Fleet Boots 1-3 --- Dash Range +X% Giant's Bracelet 1-3 --- Attack +X% Life Globe 1-5 --- Max HP +X War Gloves 1-2 --- Attack Range +X% Wind Cloak 1-3 --- Enemy Ranged Attack Accuracy -X% Clover 1-3 --- Item Drop Rate +X% Orb Charm 1-3 --- Orb Gauge Charge Rate +X% Wisdom Charm 1-3 --- Gain XP Boost +X% Valor Flag 1-3 --- Guard Attack Power +%. Guard Defense +%. Ward Cloak 1-3 --- Damage from catapult decreased. Physical damage -X% Player, -X% Guard. I found Orb Charms invaluable in getting S Rank on a lot of missions (faster kills with Orb Attacks, so faster times, and more Orb Spark kills). Used Fleet Boots to cut down on time too sometimes (especially good on Inphyy and Dwingvatt). Other than that I used Clovers a lot. Wisdom Charm only on a couple of characters where I was grinding my Level 9. Giant's Bracelet(s) against bosses, sometimes Life Globe as insurance against bosses that deal huge damage per hit. Items Sets - Rare These items are often found in chests, as mission rewards, or as guaranteed drops from specific enemies. Some of them can be obtained from several sources. At least some can drop randomly too, I've observed plenty of drops of the 'Rage' items, and I have more 'Dire' items that I can account for. The 'Royal Flag' and 'Royal Crown' are seemingly only dropped when equipping respectively the 'Cursed' or 'Dire' item sets. The 'Royal Statue' appears in your inventory as soon as you find the last Statue piece (I've only managed this on Inphyy). Cursed Boots --- Can't Dash Cursed Choker --- Attack Power -50% Cursed Shield --- Defense Power -50% SET --- Weakens you considerably, so hard to use unless you're otherwise overpowered. Improves rare item drops rates, enables you to find the Royal Flag. Personally observed frequent drops of the Dragon Knuckle. Other sources report drops of the (normally quite rare) Higher Tier items, such as Life Globe 4, Fleet Boots 3, Giant's Bracelet 3, ... Dire Gloves --- Enemy Attack Frequency x2 Dire Helm --- 0% Critical Rate Dire Ring --- Can't Jump SET --- Weakens you considerably, so hard to use unless you're otherwise overpowered. Improves rare item drops rates, enables you to find the Royal Crown. I do not know if the item pools of the 'Cursed' and 'Dire' sets are equal (besides Royal Flag/Royal Crown). Divine Armband --- Critical Damage Evade. --- Decent defensive option. Divine Ring --- Critical Damage Evade. --- Decent defensive option. Divine Tiara --- HP Restored with Blue Potions --- Useful in combination with Deadly Ring. SET --- Increases item drop rates (+30%) (but doesn't specifically improve on rare item drops, like the Cursed and Dire sets). Reportedly makes Red Orbs turn blue (which could be amazing for achieving A/S Ranks). [I couldn't observe this when testing on Inphyy. Possibly bugged. (?)] Knight's Emblem --- Player Max HP +20%, Guard Max HP +20%. --- Decent defensive option. Knight's Flag --- Player Attack Power +20%, Guard Attack Power +20% --- Decent offensive option. Knight's Helm --- Invincible during Charge Attack --- (?) SET --- Reportedly 'Activates Auto Guard'. --- I'm not sure what that means, it sounds like you would automatically block attacks without having to do it manually (using LT). [I did not observe any different behavior when equipping the Set on Tyururu and Klarrann. Possibly bugged. (?)] Rage Charm --- Doubles Orb Gauge Charge Rate when low HP. --- I dislike these effects. Rage Choker --- Attack +50%. Orb Gauge Charge Rate -30%. --- Decent offensive option. Rage Dagger --- Start the Mission with Full Orb Attack Gauge --- Always a useful item. Equip this right before finishing a mission, to start with it equipped next mission, you'll start with a filled Red bar. You can unequip right away. SET --- Reportedly 'Activates Guard Break +50%'. --- After some testing I'm confident that 'Guard Break' means to be able to damage bosses, even when they're "Blocking". Equipping the set might be a decent option vs. bosses. Though Dragon Knuckle + Damage Items seems like a lot better choice. Royal Crown --- Attack +50% on Critical Hits --- Decent offensive option. Royal Flag --- Attack +20%, Attack Range +50% --- Amazing offensive item. Royal Statue --- Revives Fallen Allies, Automatic HP Restoration --- Amazing item. Keeps your HP up during difficult boss battles (such as in the Special Mission). Even better in combination with Divine Tiara. SET --- Increases both Guard and Player HP, decreases enemy critical rate. --- I don't think the Set Bonus is that good, but the items on their own are very good, so it might be worth to equip all three. Special Items - Rare These items are often found in chests, as mission rewards, or as guaranteed drops from specific enemies. Some of them can be obtained from several sources. At least some can drop randomly too (such as Dragon Knuckle, Sage's Glass, ...), it seems that some of these are frequently dropped by specific enemies (such as Deadly Armband, Giant Club, ...). Black Gauntlet --- Guard Attack Frequency +30%. Guard Archer Accuracy +40%. --- Not very useful. Dark Gloves --- Orb Attack Length +20%. Critical Rate +30%. --- Decent offensive option. Deadly Armband --- Can't Block. + Critical Chance. + Attack Range (?). Deadly attack don't consume Orbs. --- Especially useful for the last effect. For instance, Inphyy can use her 'Seraph Butterfly' (very high damage, great for bosses) continuously. Just take a look at 'Combo Attacks' in the Menu. Ones that are both high level and say 'Drains Orb Attack Gauge' are probably quite powerful. --- Observed to be dropped frequently by the 'Armies of the Night'. Deadly Ring --- Can't Block. Red Potions turn into Blue Potions. --- Useful in combination with Divine Tiara. Demon Gloves --- Orb Attack activates when HP drops to 1. --- Useful when fighting bosses while on lower levels. Dragon Knuckle --- Critical Rate Increased. Guard Break Rate +50%. --- Amazing offensive option. Giant Club --- Attack +100%. Defense drops to 0%. --- Amazing offensive option. --- Observed to be dropped frequently by Trolls. Hourglass --- Orb Attack Length +30%. Item Effect Time +50%. Item Drop Rate x3. --- Amazing allround item. Life Crystal --- Recovery Item Drop Rates Increased --- Potentially useful. Red Pendant --- Movement Speed +20%. Guard Movement Speed +20%. --- Nice Quality of Life improvement, for when you don't need all your item slots to power you up. Sage's Glass --- Item Drop Rate x3 when low HP. --- I dislike these effects. Wrath Choker --- Can't Block. +50% Attack. +Orb Gauge Charge Rate +150% when low HP. --- Amazing offensive option. Inphyy Weapons Temple Sword --- [Default Item] Bloody Rose --- Eaurvarria Mountains --- Chest. In a dead end path, in the West. Blaze Sword --- Eaurvarria Mountains --- Chest. Behind the troll in the last area. Klausorus --- Eaurvarria Mountains --- S Rank. Orb Sword --- Outside Wyandeek --- Chest. In the middle of the Goblin camp. Phoenix Blade --- Fort Wyandeek --- Chest. Eastern of the three paths at the end. All the way in the back, behind a tent. Prominence --- Pholya Flatlands --- A Rank. Amethyst Saber --- Ywa-Ue-Uar Forests --- Chest. Before the Pwucks spawn. In a dead end, slightly east of the map centre. Tiered Items Life Globe 2 --- Ywa-Ue-Uar Forests --- A Rank. War Gloves 1 --- Ywa-Ue-Uar Forests --- Dropped by Ppakk the Third. War Gloves 2 --- Fort Wyandeek --- A Rank. Ward Cloak 2 --- Divine Varrfarrinn --- A Rank. Wind Cloak 1 --- Fort Wyandeek --- Dropped by the first Orc Commander. Wind Cloak 2 --- Outside Wynadeek --- A Rank. Statue Parts Statue Head --- Fort Wyandeek --- Chest. At the end of the level, on the right path. Behind a tent. Statue Body --- Outside Wyandeek --- S Rank. Statue Arm --- Eaurvarria Mountains --- Chest. In the last area with the troll, along the western rock wall. Statue Leg --- Outside Wyandeek --- Chest. Outside the Goblin camp, in the North-East. Item Sets Cursed Boots --- Eaurvarria Mountains --- Dropped by the Troll. Cursed Choker --- Eaurvarria Mountains --- Chest. In a dead end path, in the South-West. Knight's Emblem --- Pholya Flatlands --- Chest. Straight ahead of the where the mission starts, on the Beach. Knight's Flag --- Divine Varrfarrinn --- S Rank. [This does not work for me. Possibly bugged. (?)] Knight's Helmet --- Outside Wyandeek --- Chest. Reward for killing all fleeing Goblins before they escape. Unknown Source: Dire Helm, Rage Charm Special Items Deadly Ring --- Outside Wyandeek --- Dropped by Goblin Commander. Demon Gloves --- Divine Varrfarrinn --- Any Rank. Life Crystal --- Ywa-Ue-Uar Forests --- S Rank. Sage's Glass --- Outside Wyandeek --- Chest. Outside the Goblin camp, in the South. Wrath Choker --- Pholya Flatlands --- Chest. In the South-West, between soms ruins. Unknown Source: Deadly Armband, Dragon Knuckle, Giant Club Aspharr Weapons Temple Spear --- [Default Item] Earth Pike --- Eaurvarria Mountains --- Chest. In a dead end path, in the North-East. Knight Lance --- Eaurvarria Mountains --- Dropped by the groups of Goblins you fight when you reunite with Inphyy. Water Pike --- Castle of Varrvazzarr --- Chest. On the far East, there's a thick fog. Move all the way through it, takes a while. Bryunak --- Castle of Varrvazzarr --- S Rank. 6. I got my A Rank after a few tries. I insisted on getting S Rank though, and that took me many more. Just made it now, my results: Time 00:10:05 Kills - Standard Attack 966 - Orb Spark 187 Orbs Obtained 12067 Max Combo 1341 Guard Survival Rate (%) 69 Successful Missions 9 Bonuses 1000 I have higher Kills than before, and higher Guard Survival Rate (but still below 70%), neither of those should've impacted my score. I've had lower times and higher Max Combo's before, and also had runs with Orb Spark 200+... So why did I get S Rank here? My theory is, I killed all enemies on this run. That gives a lot more points than killing 50%+ of enemies, so that's how I got S Rank even with lower combo and slower time than usual. Let me outline the enemies in this level. Several groups of enemies running eastward after spawning in the North-West. They engage your troops and coalesce into three major battles, which are your first objective. The northernmost of these groups is problematic, as some of the knights will run off the map, and stay there forever, just staring down your troops. So I started with Rage Dagger (you start with full Red bar, if you end previous map with it in your inventory), equipped my Fleet Boots 2, rushed towards the northernmost group, and cut them down a.s.a.p. with my Orb Attack. Also equipped my Dark Gloves to get more out of my Orb Attack. The remaining enemies in these groups battles I usually ignore, because your allies will kill them on their own soon enough. After first cutscene: One wave of enemies spawns in the North-East, and runs westward. They would engage your troops, but you can engage them before they do, and kill them all on your own. I kill a few to refill my Red bar, then use Orb Attack to kill the rest. After second cutscene: One wave of enemies, led by Myifee, spawns in the East, and runs westward. These too would engage your troops (after running for a good while, but you can intercept them (especially easy because Myifee is shown on the Mini-Map). I usually kill these using an Orb Spark, then bash Myifee for a good while until he dies. I equip +Damage/+Crit items, and just spam X. I try to bash him towards the Centre/South of the map, because that's where I have to go anyway. After Myifee dies, one wave of enemies spawns in the South, and runs northward. I usually intercept them in the centre of the map, around a bunch of ruins (where two Chests lie), usually finishing them off with an Orb Attack right when they're being engaged by my allies. Meanwhile, Dwykfarrio and the Troll have spawned and are engaged in the South. Run there, kill the troops, kill the Troll. After another cutscene, Aspharr & Inphyy spawn in the West, and run towards the place you found Dwykfarrio. In this last run, I killed their troops using an Orb Attack, because I didn't have Orb Spark (using Orb Spark on them is very good, it's a very high concentration of enemies, I think I got 200+ kills on them alone on earlier runs). After that, I ignored the bosses for now. During the Aspharr & Inphyy fight, two more groups of enemies spawn, or perhaps they possibly spawn, depending on certain conditions (you walking towards their spawn point --- which is the Western edge of the map). I have only seen these once or twice, so I'm not too sure about their origin & behavior. Just ignore Aspharr & Inphyy (they'll be kept busy by your allies), and walk along the Centre-West edge of the map. If you're not sure you killed all knights in the first group (the ones that can get stuck on the edge of the map), you can visit there again just in case. Sometimes you can kill one or more by using your Orb Attack, and pressing Y during it (that's a pretty large AOE attack, so you can kill them even when they're off map).
  7. I know this topic is very old (like everything in this forum), but if I was still looking for tips on this level, of this game, in 2021, perhaps others will too. =] I just achieved an S rank! --- I set myself the arbitrary goal of not only getting A Rank on every level, but S Rank. I knew it'd be possible since this level is considered hardest, and there was at least 2-3 people saying online they achieved S Rank in this (many years ago). I was constantly changing routes/choices, writing down results and looking in this topic (1) to try and improve. I took maybe 20-25 tries, and before the end screen popped, I told myself this was my final attempt, because I was convinced I couldn't do much better than this. Even though I'm still no expert, I thought I'd share my results and method. My Stats Time 00:22:52 Kills 844 - Standard Attack 723 - Orb Spark 121 Orbs Obtained 10835 Max Combo 5665 Guard Survival Rate (%) 45 Succesful Missions 16 Bonuses 2200 Highlighted in green are the values I think you should be looking at. Partially basing this on my own experience, partially on, again, this topic (1). --- Any kills (other than using Orb Spark), Orbs Obtained, and Succesfull Missions don't impact your score. Although you'll have to make plenty of kills to speed up your completion of the level. And you'll have to obtain tons of Orbs in order to use your Orb Spark (and even regular Orb Attacks help, because they enable to kill faster, i.e. finish the level faster). Guard Survival Rate matters, but according to the other topic, the score for anything from 1%-70% Guard Survival is the same, and it seems completely impossible to get either 0% or 70%+ on this level. Scoring System I do have to say, I am confused about the scoring system. If this topic (2) is correct, the score required for S Rank here is 104. And you get bonus points for keeping the allied commanders at high HP (how high exactly isn't clear, but I'm assuming if they're 90%+ you're probably doing your job, i.e. getting the bonus points). However, if I'm using the scoring system from the first topic, I should have been scoring over 104 in many of my tries, something has to be off here. I can't be sure, but I do not believe the score required for S Rank is simply (A Rank +1), there has to be a gap. Otherwise, only the exact score of 103 would give you an A Rank, and I've gotten maybe 14 A Ranks, with widely varying resulsts. There is no way. The first topic mentions you get 40 points for killing a 100% of enemies. I'm confident I know all spawns of groups of enemies, but I can't be sure I'm getting the 40 points. Do the Dragons count (you can let archers kill them all, but it slows you down)? Does Dwingvatt count (who's still alive, and presents a 'red dot' on the map as the game ends)? I worked under the assumption I had to kill everything on the map to have a chance of S Rank, so that's what I did. It'd be very interesting to hear someone get S without doing so. There's at least one group that takes a while to find and kill, not having to do so could save maybe a minute or more. It's hard to get high Orb Spark in this level. And according to the topic, it doesn't net a lot of points. Based on my own experience, I thought Orb Spark kills helped a lot actually, so this surprised me. The only huge group of enemies you can have in this level, largely dies in the process of getting your combo. And some enemies will survive Aspharr's Orb Spark (even being level 9) sometimes, especially Orcs. --- That being said, it doesn't cost you much (if any) extra time to get either 100+ or 200+ Orb Spark kills (for 2 or 4 bonus points). On my last few runs, I was consistently using my Orb Spark twice, netting over a 100, but never over 200 kills. The way to go about this is to equip Nereids Spear whenever you're killing enemies (Orb Gauge Rate +30%), as well as Orb Charm 1 (+10%) and Orb Charm 2 (+20%). You can use Dark Gloves when using your regular Orb Attack (to lengthen it), but in my experience it doesn't add anything, as I'm killing anything in sight in the regular duration already. Highest Combo is, in my experience, crucial. And it's rather easy on this level (as long as you have the right items) to get 5.500+ Combo (for maximum score of 20). I restarted several times after I messed up my combo, being convinced I would never get S Rank even with Combo's like 3.000+. People recommend your starting weapon (Temple Spear) because it does least damage. But I've preferred to use either the Water Spike, or the Blue Lancer. They deal more damage so the horde of enemies starts dying faster, but you can amass a big enough horde easily. The longer attack range these weapons have (30%-40%) ensures you build the combo much faster (so, it saves time), and I'm convinced it decreases chances of being interrupted (mostly by Orcs), by keeping them at a distance more effectively. In addition to the 'Cursed Choker' (-50% Damage), you should definitely use War Gloves 1 and War Gloves 2. If you are missing any of those, play other missions using item drop rate increasing items, until you have them. Number of items obtained is hard to gauge. Do all items count? I wouldn't know. For a while, I was trying hard to maximize this, by using Hourglass, Life Crystal, Divine Tiara, Clover 1, and Clover 2. This should ensure "Item drop rates triples", as well as adding a total of 100% to your item drop rate, and of top of that "Recovery item drop rate increases". --- But I suspect this doesn't work. I am not experience the huge difference in item drop rates I should be, when comparing using all of these items, vs. using none of these items. On my successful run, I was only using Hourglass, and occasionally Clover 2. There's 16 chests alone on this level, as well as a few guaranteed drops when killing certain groups/bosses. I think I was hitting 31+ items on my runs (for the maximum 5 bonus points). You could grab pen and paper and keep track just to be sure (be sure to pause the game though). I assume the 'Bonuses' score is based on the Bonus Objective (Allied Commander HP's, in this case) + Items Obtained, but not sure. I couldn't really explain the fluctuations in my 'Bonuses' score. I got scores between 1800 and 2300 generally. So 2200 is quite good it seems. Time. There's some math behind that, it runs from 36 points at 0 minutes, to 0 points at 120 minutes. This means you should get 30 points for times between 16:40 - 20:00, 29 points for 20:00 - 23:20, 28 points for 23:20 - 26:40. I did a few runs ignoring the top part of the map (where you can amass a large group and easily get 5500+ combo), and got much faster times. My best run with that strategy was 10:58, with a 1884 Combo and low Orb Spark kills. It netted me an A Rank every time, and eventually I gave up on it. It might be viable but it's very hard to get a much higher combo, and you're probably not getting maximum points for 'Items Obtained'. My Route Throughout the mission I'm constantly equipping Bryunak when running around, switching to Nereids Spear when engaging the enemy (or picking up Blue Potions). At the start, I run to the east to kill two groups or archers, and grab 1 chest (Blue Potion). This is enough to fill the Red bar. I ignore the weapon in the fog, it takes too long. Use your Orb Attack to kill the entire group of Gewgs (your current objective). -Cutscene- They usually dropped items, grab those and another chest in the east (Blue Potion). Then more enemies will try to engage you behind the Castle. Kill just enough of them to refill your Red Bar, leave the rest and run towards the Pwucks. Ignore the Pwucks too, run past them and get the attention of another group of enemies, dragging them towards the Pwucks. Once the remaining enemies in the original groups, the Pwucks, and the new group are all close together, use your Orb Attack to kill all of them. Then I usually equip +Damage items (in my case 'Wrath Choker', 'Dark Gloves', 'Giant Bracelet 2', 'Knights Flag'), and use XY attacks, to kill the boss Frog. Because both the Orb Charms and + Item Drop Rate items have almost no effect when you're only killing 1 boss. -Cutscene- Another group runs at you from the West, two other groups are on top of the cliffs, waiting to run down. I walk up to the cliffs below them, until both come down, then I drag them towards the Arrphan, and use my Orb Spark. Some of the Arrphan will survive, leave them, and run towards the west. First grab a chest at some ruins (Red Potion), then run all the way to the west, and kill a few Goblins fighting your archers. I usually grab 2 chests (Blue Potions) to refill my Red bar (switch it up if you need 3, or only 1, you'll be back here later). Walk back towards the Castle, grabbing another chest (Move Speed) in the forest on the way. The archers will start shooting the Dragons (which I don't know makes a difference). I usually walk up to the 'main battle' and kill whatever remains there using my Orb Attack (even if it's only a few kills, there's no point saving your Orb Attack for later), only then finish the last of the Arrphan. By that time, the dragons will all be dead, although you'll still get a "The dragon have fled" message. -Cutscene- Ignore the Orcs and run all the way to the north of the map. I equip Bryunak for this and don't slow down. I ignore the chests unless I am low HP. Run all the way to the end, grab the three chests (Useless items). Run back and forth a bit, dragging the enemies furthest away from you to the centre of the mass of enemies, until all are close together. Don't take too long, as not only should you worry about time, your two companions will kill the enemies eventually... Here I equip my low damage combo, keep spamming YYYY until I reach 5500. Then, switch your items again, kill whatever remains with your Orb Attack, and pick up any dropped items. Run all the way back, picking up the chests on the way if you haven't already (Blue Potions, Red Potion), which will almost or entirely fill up your Red bar again. When you get back to the 'main battle', use your Orb Attack again, then clean up the rest with normal attacks. Be careful here, as the Orcs can do surprising amounts of damage, you might want to equip something like Aegis Charm or Divine Armband here. I killed all other Orcs here before killing the chieftain (again using XY attacks). I'm not sure if they despawn if you kill him first (since you get a cutscene). It would be interesting to find out if they do (and if it matters for score), as it takes a while to kill them all. -Cutscene- Dwingvatt appears. I run to the east, kill a group of archers using my Orb Attack. I run to the west, and drag another group of Goblins towards the 'main battle', where I use my Orb Spark again. During this sequence, two notable things occur. First, three chests have appeared around the 'main battle', one West, one East, one at the entrance of the castle. It' short distance, so I always pick them up. Secondly, another battle occurs in the western part of the map (where you saved the group of Archers earlier). Run there, save another group of allies from a bunch of goblins, and pick up the remaining chests, if any (Blue Potions). Get back to the main battle, clean up goblins if needed (usually not), then kill Dwingvatt. I hope someone, somewhere finds this useful. If you do, I'd be glad to hear it. And I'd be especially interested to hear if anyone else manages to reach S Rank (and how you did so). =]
  8. These are the only tips on SWOS gameplay I can find anywhere... Thanks. Not sure it's 100% correct, the 'Aftertouch' works in both directions (up/down & left/right), according to the ingame menu. Big issue I have with this game: About 90% of shots I take diagonally flies too high. Often not even close. My straight shots are almost never too high. I've tried different things; Aftertouch up, aftertouch down, let go of thumbstick altogether... It's still happening. While the one 'guide' online (not much of a guide either): --- actually encourages taking diagonal shots. Best bet so far seems to be straight shots from just outside the penalty area. Aftertouch sideways seems to work ok sometimes, but I score goals without it as well. Edit: Got the achievement. Never figured out how to fix those diagonal kicks, but it wasn't necessary. Just got good enough at the game to get 50 attempts at the goal per game. Ended up getting 15-0. Strategy: Never play on the flanks. Get possession, if you're on a slow player, pass to another. First move sideways/diagonally to get (close) to the center of the field, then run in a straight line forward. This is necessary because adjusting course later is very likely to make your player lose the ball. When you get close to the penalty area, shoot (Hold A), then pull thumbstick either left or right, I usually aim at the far corner. It's possible to overdo it and miss, especially if you're shooting from a little further away. If you're on a fast player, no one will catch up, and the enemy defenders will be waiting for you in penalty area, so you can almost always just run like this and take the shot. Most shots will be caught by the goalkeeper, but since you can make dozens of attempts, it doesn't matter in the end. On free kicks, I always pass to the side and try to set up another shot like I just described. On corner kicks, I'm not sure what to do. I've mostly tried to just lob it into the penalty area and hit A at the right time (= attempt to score with a header). It's only worked once in dozens of attempts though. Perhaps passing backwards and then trying to setup a shot as normal is better. When your goalkeeper has to bring the ball back into play, first wait for your players to be in position. Then, I prefer a short pass (tap A), then dodge 1 or 2 players, and either run all the way forward, or pass once and do the same on whoever gets it. Btw: I used Milan (2x 5 star attackers) vs. 'VB' (Faroer Islands), that team has all players 0.5 stars. Especially the rating for their keeper probably matters. On Milan, the number 8 midfielder is really fast, great to take posession, run all the way and shoot. I also adjusted tactics, especially to move the defenders forward for every possible scenario. They're normally annoyingly defensive, running backwards towards the goal, instead of trying to intercept the ball or attackers. I think I managed to fix this, but I'm not sure how much effect it really had. Think the 10-0 can definitely be done without this, with some practice.
  9. In case anyone wants to boost Multiplayer achievements for this game, please contact me. Me and one other trying to get 6 people/accounts together to boost this in August, evenings/late night for EU, late afternoon/evenings for NA.
  10. Edit: Done. I recommend every to go with double or triple box 'AFK boosting' if possible. It's much faster, more relaxed, less issues. Don't worry about the "1 round game" paranoia, or about using different Xboxes. And according to developers, the only person who loses their kills if someone disconnects, is the person disconnecting. Others should continue playing, especially if they're near the end of the game. Ending the game will cause everyone to lose their kills.
  11. I realise that this is a very old thread, but if I'm still interested in completing this game (as far as possible), someone else be might too! I explored Constantinople a lot, checked off Wells on this map as I found them, and checked if all Wells I found were on the map. Turns out, there seem to be 31 Well Hiding Spots in Constantinople, all of the same shape and size. But I suspect that 4 are already opened (no way to be sure, other than starting a new game), and don't count towards your progress. So you can only ever reach 27/31, as people had more or less concluded already. I'll attach the map here again, with 4 red dots with the Well hiding spots I found that weren't on the map. Note that the two in the North-West are in the Janissary camp. I'm 99% sure those are already open. The other 2 I'm not so sure. I'm not sure the maker of this map was aware of the 4 additional Well hiding spots. PS: Map is quite small, due to attachment limitations. Hope the red dot locations are clear at least.
  12. I got it. Five years of on and off practice. Whoooo. If anyone else is still looking to get this, don't give up. =] Some more comments on strategy; It probably does. But I chose to ignore it altogether. Even early in the game, Gravity Wells are a risk. They pull enemies into unpredictable patterns, and a Proton Swarm + any surround spawn is very dangerous. Protons are also just annoying in general, as they're the fastest enemies. They tend to force you to shoot backwards, which increases risk of flying into enemies. I still did activate Gravity Wells occasionally to slow down a swarm behind me, but it's pretty rare. Most of the time I'll try to kill any Gravity Wells on screen ASAP (by flying straight towards them, it's way faster than killing from a distance). When I can't, I generally try to avoid activating them. I was almost never dying like this anymore. Once you get a surround spawn, have some patience, stay in the middle while you kill approaching enemies and shoot your way through. If there's too many enemies approaching, just bomb. The same goes for that death. It became a rarity. Just avoid the edges, especially when spawns are to be expected (few enemies on screen -or- not much has spawned recently). To survive a select few spawns, I still sometimes touch the edges, but it's rare, so the chances of dying for it became pretty small. As I was able to reach scores of 1.500.000-2.000.000 every game I tried really hard, I decided I was good enough at dealing with any situation, and it would just take that extra focus, and a bit of luck. So today, I started restarting at my first death, instead of continuing to practice. I still think the Quote is good advice, but there is a point where the value of more practice will become quite low. Continuing each game beyond that point might just cost you extra time and energy (there's a limit to how many hours you can tryhard for Achievements like this). The Golden Tip: Focus on your spaceship. I mean, visually. Your eyes should be on it 99%+ of the time. It helped me massively, as so many deaths to enemies I didn't expect to be in my path, could be avoided by focusing more on the spaceship and it's immediate vicinity. Not looking around has a minor cost, as you're less aware of Gravity Wells and Pulsars, which is bad. But it's not as important as focusing on your ship. About my last run: I used two bombs very early on this time, while it's unusual to use them before 200.000. But no need to panic, you have enough bombs to reach 1,000,000! You won't run out unless you panic too much, or you haven't learned to deal with each spawn yet. I kept telling myself 'Focus' when my mind drifted off for a milisecond, and I literally shouted 'LOOK AT YOUR SHIP' like 5 times during that run (whenever I caught myself looking around the screen). This type of hardcore focus was the last thing I needed to finally get the Achievement. I was getting 300.000 without deaths pretty much every game, and I hit three scores between 700.000 and 950.000 shortly before getting it. I checked a few moments how many bombs I had left, and noticed at 800.000-900.000 that I had more than enough. So I used them a little more liberally during the last moments of the run. Hope my contributions help someone out there! =] I will stay subscribed to the thread, so you can ask questions here if you like. Or you can PM, of course.
  13. So, Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition is now back to 100% Obtainable? I guess that enables completionist to play Darksiders, Darksiders II (DE) & Darksiders III? [Chambalaja, keep in mind that the original version of Darksiders II still has unobtainable achievements! See here.]
  14. Just to put it out there: The Bioware Social Network has been shut down. The promotional items can no longer be obtained (as far as I'm aware). Or at least, not by legitimate means. The items are listed on the new Dragon Age website [https://dragonagekeep.com/en_US/career/, under 'Rewards'], but it seems like the only purpose is for players to keep track of what they have earned/unlocked (by various means) throughout their 'canon' playthroughs...?
