  1. I don't know if this will work for you guys (due to cloud saves) but this is where Windows 8 stores saves: C/users/[Your Name]/Appdata/local/packages/Microsoft.Studios.Gunpowder/Local state (or roaming state). It depends on which game you're playing, as to where the save will be located. Also, I'm not entirely sure whether the package will be "Microsoft.Studios.Gunpowder" as I don't own the game yet, but looking at the other Microsoft published titles, it's a safe bet. Good luck. *Edit - I guess if the cloud saves come into play, you can just go offline, delete the save, then play.
  2. This is awesome. I saw the option to include AI in the matches, but I assumed it wouldn't count. Good to see that it does in fact! Thanks, I'll add it to the guide. *What about going on the same team as your partner? That would work too, yes? I don't know what would be quicker, doing it 2vs1 for each of you, or going 2v2 straight up.
  3. Sorry, I haven't been around much. I forgot to add, I'm on Windows 8, so "Epic Win" would probably take a bit longer than 10 minutes, as for some reason the turns take around 30 seconds to send. No real time multiplayer, sadly. Cheers, I'm glad it's helping. I will try to get the rest done soon, and get videos up for each of them.
  4. Sorry mate. How do you feel about roadmaps? lol.
  5. You're welcome! I actually already have Murderous Moats done and it displays the Oni skull being achieved, I just need to get it uploaded. I'll start it now, though my internet isn't amazing, so it will probably be a few hours. lol. *Edit- YouTube is estimating 2 hours. This is helpful information, thanks. I'll add it, for sure. No, I completed the game a few days ago. Though, you can feel free to add me if you want help with those.
  6. There are a couple of things I need to fix, in particular I'm not sure whether the multiplayer map name is correct. I'll check tomorrow, as it's very late. I will consider doing a road map -- I kind of hate making them though! We'll see. Let me know if you think anything needs to be added here.
  7. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1745/-IHibw==.jpgKurokawa Would Be Proud10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Break a Deadly Alliance in online multiplayer. In deathmatch games with 3 or more players, alliances are allowed to be formed in order to stop one player from dominating. They can be broken at any time, either by attacking, or entering the score menu and choosing "Break Deadly Alliance". To unlock this achievement, you need to be the person breaking the alliance. So, either grab a friend or a random who doesn't mind (well, it doesn't truly matter if they do mind) being betrayed and break the alliance. Visit this thread if you need to find a partner: http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=419605 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1745/-qDr2g==.jpgWeb Master10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Win an online multiplayer match. To win an online match, you will need to kill the enemy General. Either invite a friend or challenge a random. Visit this thread if you need a partner: http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=419605 Note: Quitting does not award the other player a win, or at least doesn't unlock this or any other online achievement. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1745/5-x+TrM=.jpgOnline Multi-Slayer10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.pngWin a 4-player online multiplayer match. Either chance your arm against randoms in a 4-player deathmatch online, or find boosting partners to help out in this thread: http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=419605 To win, kill the other three Generals. Note: Quitting doesn't count for this achievement. 2 PLAYER METHOD (courtesy of Sceneman) - If you are having a hard time finding three people to boost with, fear not, this achievement can be done with one other player. Create an online team deathmatch game, set the armies to 4, but the amount of humans to 2. When playing, have your opponent simply end their turn immediately, so that it is essentially you and your AI partner against one AI. It should be an easy win. Alternatively, you and your boosting partner can go on the same team and try to defeat the AI together. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1745/5-2etiA=.jpgTeam Player10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Win a team deathmatch game with your teammate still alive. This is most easily done in a local team deathmatch game, as you can control every army. Set up a match on a small map, denoted by a large "S" on the selection screen. Kill the opposing teams Generals (knocking them over a ledge is usually the quickest way) and you'll unlock the achievement. If doing it legitimately, simply make sure your teammates General doesn't die. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1745/5-+-v5U=.jpgSpeed Kills20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Win a multiplayer match with a 20-second-per-turn time limit. Again, it's best to do this in a local match. Set the options to 2 teams, deathmatch and most importantly, change the time limit from unlimited to 20 seconds. Try to pick a small map to speed things up. Kill the enemy General to unlock the achievement. Note: Quitting does not count for this achievement. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1745/5-5fRwY=.jpgEpic Win30 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Win an online match that lasts at least 30 rounds, defeating at least 30 enemies. Theoretically, you could do this against a random, by playing defense the whole game and hoping they pump out 30 enemies + don't attack with their General. If you would like to increase your chances of getting it done, however, visit this thread and find a partner: http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=419605 Make sure you set it to 1000 starting rice, and select the map "Chaos Canyon". The person losing needs to capture the rice paddies and the soldier shrine in the middle. They should begin pumping out soldiers each turn, as they are the cheapest unit. Wait until their overall unit count hits 30 (or above) then smite them. You can see the unit count by hitting the "score button/objective button". For the person winning, if they can, they should claim the salamander shrine and eat three skulls, turning the Salamander into a demon. The reason I suggest this, is that the Salamanders lightning spell can kill anyone (except the General, depending on his health) in two hits. So, that massive group of units in the middle will take one turn to kill instead of potentially 10 or more. When the 30th round is reached, feel free to kill the enemy General and end the game (assuming you have your 30 kills). The achievement will unlock at the win/loss screen. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1745/5-v9rP8=.jpgSpeed of the Shogun30 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Complete every level such that your best times for all of them add up to less than 3 hours. What this tends to boil down to, is rushing towards the enemy General without a care for anything else. Not all levels are like this, for example some don't even have an enemy General in play, however, most of the time it is the case. Make sure you put the difficult on "casual" before attempting this. For reference, here is a list of the levels and my times on each of them: 1) Line Limbo - 3:50 2) Bedlam Beach - 5:22 3) Archer Ambush - 4:59 4) Glorious Gates - 1:20 5) Sakura's Solace - 1:53 6) Pink Pursuit - 6:06 7) Potion Panic - 6:05 8) Guardian Gardens - 3:33 9) Raiden's Rampage - 0:52 10) Murderous Moats - 12:30 11) Hurricane Plain - 15:09 12) Forsaken Flights - 7:43 13) Fujin Falls - 12:45 14) Lion's Labyrinth - 16:36 15) Chaos Canyon - 7:31 16) Autumn Assault - 14:14 17) Glassy Glacier - 6:55 18) Avalanche Alley - 11:20 19) Frozen Finale - 16:37 20) End of the Line - 24:12 I am only a tiny bit under the 3 hour requirement, therefore, you'll need to get very similar times to those above.
  8. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1745/+uqzEg==.jpgWere you using that?10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Defeat an enemy Monk by haunting its Shrine. To defeat an enemy monk by haunting its shrine, you first need the enemy to haunt the shrine. Once they do, you will notice a flame of their colour appears at the bottom of it and a monk pops out. Depending on how much health your units have, you may be able to sneak your way onto the shrine (you cannot be pushed except by a Crow Monk if you're haunting something) or you may need to kill the nearby unit. Just make sure you leave the monk alone. If you are able to haunt the shrine (which takes one turn) the enemy monk will die and be replaced by a monk of your own. You'll also receive a nice, shiny achievement for your efforts. Note: Shrines look similar to totem poles. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1745/+c2nHA==.jpgOutfoxing Death20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Bring back a fallen unit with a Demon Fox Monk's Revive spell. Fox Monks are spawned from certain shrines signified by a fox on top. You must send a unit of yours to haunt the shrine, then proceed to eat three skulls with your Fox Monk, whereupon he will turn into a Demon Fox Monk and thus gain access to the revive spell. In order to use the revive spell, you need have a friendly unit's skull somewhere within your vicinity. Select your Demon Fox Monk, choose "spells", then "revive". Hover over your allies skull, confirm the revive and you'll unlock the achievement. Note: Each cast of Revive will cost you 100 rice. For reference, this is a Fox Monk: http://www.trueachievements.com/customimages/014227.jpg and here is his shrine: http://i.imgur.com/2QhJTt6.png http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1745/+C1fjw==.jpgLightning Storm20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Defeat 5 foes at once with a Salamander Monk's Lightning Storm spell. To summon a Salamander Monk, you'll need to haunt his shrine (signified by a Salamander on top) with one of your units. Upon doing so, you should then proceed to eat three skulls with your Salamander Monk, thus turning him into a Demon Salamander Monk and gaining access to the Lightning Storm spell. This spell is quite vicious; it will do 3-4 damage to whoever it hits within its radius. That said, you're unlikely to encounter 5 enemy units sitting on top of each other in the campaign, so I recommend instead doing it in local multiplayer. Set up the game, giving each team 1000 starting rice. Capture the soldier shrine with the army not getting the achievement and start buying units. With your own army, capture the Monk Shrine and allow him to enter demon form. When he is near the opposing army's units, select "spells", then "Lightning Storm". You will need to use it twice. Upon using it the second time, you should kill five enemies and unlock the achievement. Note: Each cast of Lightning Storm will cost you 100 rice. Note#2: Not every map has a salamander shrine. Choose the "Chaos Canyon" map. For reference, here is a picture of the Salamander Monk: http://oi50.tinypic.com/r1klxv.jpg and here is his shrine: http://i.imgur.com/9rBANjk.png http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1745/+wIAIw==.jpgGone with the Wind20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Knock 3 foes off a ledge at once with a Demon Crow Monk's Typhoon spell. To summon a Crow Monk, you'll need to haunt his shrine (signified by a crow on top) with one of your units. Upon doing so, you should then proceed to eat three skulls with your Crow Monk, thus turning him into a Demon crow Monk and gaining access to the Typhoon spell. The Typhoon spell expands Crow Monk's Gust spell, allowing him to target multiple enemy units. You're unlikely to get this in the campaign, so I suggest local multiplayer instead. Set up a 2 player deathmatch (1000 starting rice) and have three units from the opposing army line up on a ledge. Whether or not they are in a spirit wall doesn't matter. Once they're set up, have your Crow Monk target the middle enemy with the Typhoon spell, which should send them all tumbling to their deaths and in the process unlock the achievement. Note: Each cast of Typhoon will cost you 100 rice. Note: Not every map has a crow shrine. Choose the "Chaos Canyon" map. For reference, here is a picture of the Crow Monk: http://cdn.inthegame.nl/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/char_Crow.png and here is his shrine: http://i.imgur.com/1E2WNQc.png http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1745/+SMJlg==.jpgThe Bone Collector20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Earn 15 gold skulls. In total, there are 55 gold skulls to be earned in Skulls of the Shogun. Each mission has from 1-3 gold skulls associated with it; each skull has an objective that must be fulfilled before it will unlocked. For example, in the first level, you must not lose any units. Some of them are quite difficult and force you to play in unexpected ways. For a full guide on all 55 gold skulls, see this thread: http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=421260
  9. Skulls of the Shogun: Achievement Guide http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1745/-qigeA==.jpgOut of Line20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Complete the Shores of the Dead on Normal difficulty. "Shores of the Dead" refers to levels 1-4 in Skulls of the Shogun. In order to unlock this achievement, you must complete the fourth level "Glorious Gates" on normal difficulty. The "Glorious Gates" level is a close, tightly fought affair. What you want to do is attack the enemy unit directly in front of their General, then, when your next turn comes around attack the General with everything you've got. Note: In the bamboo directly to the right of where your units spawn, there is a potion. It can either be red (bonus attack strength) or green (bonus health and regeneration). In either case, you should pick it up, however, red is much, much more useful for this particular level. With the increased attack strength, you will take down the enemy General in no time. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1745/-ImpzQ==.jpgVictor of Victorious...Victory20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Complete the Land of Eternal Blossoms on Normal difficulty. "Land of Eternal Blossoms" refers to levels 5-8 in Skulls of the Shogun. In order to unlock this achievement, you must complete the eighth level "Guardian Gardens" on normal difficulty. "Guardian Gardens" is a medium sized map. It features the first appearance of Demon Monks -- healing monks who are allowed two turns -- which means in terms of strategy, you need to be aggressive with your attacks. If you're going to attack, make sure you are able to kill that particular unit in the same turn. Otherwise, the monks will simply heal it back to full health, essentially resulting in a wasted turn for you. On the flip side, you can potentially force the enemy to waste a turn (or two) by forcing them to use their healers, however, you are likely better off going in for the killing blow. Upon defeating the enemy General and advancing to the "Winner" screen, you will receive the achievement. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1745/-WlRXg==.jpgGum-Splattered Lock-Plucker20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Complete the Land of Monsoon Meadows on Normal difficulty. "Land of Monsoon Meadows" refers to levels 9-12 in Skulls of the Shogun. In order to unlock this achievement, you must complete the twelfth level "Forsaken Flights" on normal difficulty. "Forsaken Flights" throws another curveball in the form Oni. Oni are similar in appearance to trolls, or ogres. Their disposition is not exactly friendly... in fact, they hate everybody! They will attack you or the enemy if either of you get close to them, with great power. So, what you should do, is goad the enemy into walking by the Oni, thus letting the Oni do your work for you. With the skulls scattered near the entrances of the Oni's caves, this is quite easy to do. Leave them and the enemy will try to grab them instead. Catching the eye of the Oni in the process. When the enemy numbers have dwindled, avoid the Oni as best as you can on your ascent, and take out their General. Whether by traditional means (attacking him until he has no hit points left) or by forcing him off a ledge by hitting him when he is close to it. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1745/+Mu6pw==.jpgSound of One Hand Applauding20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Complete the Land of Golden Harvest on Normal difficulty. "Land of Golden Harvest" refers to levels 13-16 in Skulls of the Shogun. In order to unlock this achievement, you must complete the sixteenth level "Autumn Assault" on normal difficulty. "Autumn Assault" is a large map, home to many cleansing shrines, as well as crow monk shrines. It can be quite difficult if you decide to go on the offensive, so I suggest you camp at the first pair of cleansing shrines. Claim them, then kill the enemies as they come to you. Be careful of the archers to your left. I also suggest awakening your General early in proceedings and transforming him into a demon (by eating 3 skulls with him). He will be paramount to your defense, just remember to pull him out of the action after each turn. Once you've dealt with the enemies spawning in your immediate area, advance up the steps on the top right of the map. Claim the two cleansing shrines there, then make another defensive stand. When you feel comfortable, attack the General. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1745/+StCNA==.jpgA Shogun Is You!40 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Complete the Land of Frozen Fortunes on Normal difficulty. "Land of Frozen Fortunes" refers to levels 17-20 in Skulls of the Shogun. In order to unlock this achievement, you must complete the twentieth level "End of the Line" on normal difficulty. "End of the Line" is the last level and one of the most difficult. From the outset, each enemy unit is in demon form, so they can move two times (or ten times compared to your five). To balance the odds, you're going to want to eat the skulls surrounding your spawn, as well as claiming the monk shrines just in front of you. Spawn two Salamander Monks, or a Salamander Monk and a Crow Monk. Try to form a defensive link at the top of the stairs, near the ice. Prioritise enemy archers, as they will do an absurd amount of damage to you with each shot. It's unlikely that you'll be able to advance much -- in fact I recommend you don't. Stay where you are and wait until they run out of rice, all the while upgrading your units to demons. The reason I suggest a Salamander Monk is due to his lightning shield. The enemy General can only be harmed by your General and in an out and out fight, you're likely to lose. Be aware that if you are attacked by the enemy General (counter attacks are fine) you will be frozen, which will likely result in your death. Attack only when you have a lightning shield on, as the extra damage will be needed to kill him in one turn. You should save before facing him, in case things go awry. Note: The enemy General's personal guard (denoted by blue swords) also have freezing attacks. Keep your distance! http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1745/+wpLgQ==.jpgDevil Inside10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Power up your General to a Demon. To power up your General to a demon, he needs to eat three enemy skulls. To do this, kill three enemies (with any units) then position your General next to/near a skull, select it and then eat it. Do this three times and he will transform into a demon, granting you the achievement. Here is a picture of your General: http://www.trueachievements.com/customimages/014223.jpg He is larger than the other units and often starts the level asleep...I mean meditating.
  10. Level Name: Glassy Glacier Gold Skull 1: Beat level owning all shrines. Gold Skull 2: Knockback at least 5 enemies over ledges. Gold Skull 3: Didn't attack with any unit but your General. Guide: There are a total of four shrines on the map, two on your side, two on the enemy's side. Haunt the two shrines on your side early, then push towards the others. You may need to leave a unit near the shrine after haunting it, in order to protect it. Leave one or two enemies alive at the end if need be, to make it easier to haunt the shrines without being disturbed. Knockback is very dangerous on this level, as the ice is very slippery. Anyone who is hit while standing on it (who isn't in a spirit wall) will go flying backwards a long, long way. What you want to do, is get at least two units together, relatively close to the edge (standing on the ice) and form a spirit wall. This should draw the enemy to you, but you won't go flying off the edge because of the spirit wall. When it's your turn, line up your attack so the enemy will go in the direction of the cliff and hit them. Keep doing this until you've knocked 5 enemy units over the ledges. This is a little tricky, but if you follow the advice above, it's manageable. Do not ever initiate an attack with a unit other than your General - counter attacks are obviously fine (they're totally out of your control). Awaken your General immediately. Group your General with a couple of your units on the ice, making sure to form a spirit wall. Kill any units who come near and eat their skulls. Since your General is doing all the work, he will take priority when it comes to eating skulls. Also, capture the Monk shrine and summon a Fox Monk to heal your units. Whilst your General is the most important unit, he does need support, so keep those around him healed too. Take control of as many shrines as you can and protect them, to prevent the enemy numbers from getting out of control. Here is a video showing "Gold Skull 1" & "Gold Skull 3" being achieved: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ndL5GZU9BNk]Skulls of the Shogun | Glassy Glacier - YouTube[/ame]
  11. Level Name: Fujin Falls Gold Skull 1: Beat level with at least 4 allies still alive. Gold Skull 2: Beat level in 14 rounds or less. Gold Skull 3: Beat level with at least 2 Crow Monk allies still alive. Guide: This level introduces you to the Crow Monk -- a unit with the ability to gust the enemy, gust haunted shrines/paddies, skulls etc. You will want to use him quite often, however, first you need to actually bring him to life. Your opening turn should consist of you haunting the Crow Monk shrine at the top of the map with your soldier, and also moving the archer up the very back into the bamboo (to his right). Move your General and cavalry units towards the tiny Crow Monk island and form a spirit wall. You may also wish to grab the green potion here, so that the enemy doesn't get it. When your Crow Monk spawns, use him to push the cavalry unit (the one that ate the skull) into the water. Then, kill the other cavalry unit with your archers. Allow one of your archers to eat all of the available skulls up top, as his demon form will be very useful. As you move down to the stone "bridge", enemy reinforcements will arrive. Deal with them and the game will tell you to advance to an arrow. Before doing so, be sure to eat all of the skulls. Reserve 6 for your Crow Monks, seeing how their demon form is required for a skull. Upon proceeding to the arrow, the enemy General and his army will appear. If you have fewer than 4 allies alive at this point, haunt the nearby shrines to spawn some more. Since you ate all of the skulls previously, you should be pretty strong, thus, you can ignore most of the enemy units and head straight for the General. Hit him in the direction of the thorns (or the edge). Hopefully, this will see you beat the level before round 15 arrives. Level Name: Lion's Labyrinth Gold Skull 1: Beat level owning all cleansing shrines. Gold Skull 2: Beat level with at least 4 demon allies alive. Gold Skull 3: No allies damaged by cleansing shrines. Guide: There are eight cleansing shrines scattered about the level. If owned by the enemy, at the start of their turn, the shrines will inflict one damage upon any of your units in its radius (you can see the radius of the shrines attack by selecting it). If owned by you, it will do the same except to your enemy, instead of you. From the beginning of the level, head right towards the two shrines. Don't try to capture them immediately, as your units will likely die. Instead, have your units stay within reach of the shrines and allow the enemy to come to you. If they try to capture a shrine, it is the perfect time to attack (they can't counter and you also don't want them to have the shrine). As soon as their numbers have dwindled on the right side, capture the two shrines, eat the skulls and head towards the middle. Leave one unit on the right, in case there are any stragglers who will attempt to haunt the shrines. Haunt the middle shrines and head left, again, leaving a unit (or two) to defend them. You may also want to haunt the Crow Monk shrine at this point (it's just ahead of the middle cleansing shrines), as the Crow Monk can gust out the enemy's haunted structures, so that they're no longer under their control. Which means, when attempting to haunt the cleansing shrines, you won't get damaged. Deal with anyone on the left, haunt the shrines, then head towards the top. There is no General in this level, instead, the goal is to kill all of the enemy units. Keep one alive while you go and haunt the last two shrines, also, eat any skulls around to work towards the "4 demon allies alive" skull. End the level once you have fulfilled both of these. The last skull is the hardest. You cannot take a single point of damage from cleansing shrines, which means you need to be extremely careful. Check the shrines attack distance if you think you're even close to it. Only attempt to haunt them if the enemy doesn't own them (or the one besides them) as it takes a whole turn and you will take damage in that time. It's a case of avoiding them for the majority of the level and pulling the enemies towards you. Here is a video showing "Gold Skull 3" being achieved: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKbxEMJfyd0]Skulls of the Shogun | Lion's Labyrinth - YouTube[/ame] Level Name: Chaos Canyon Gold Skull 1: Knockback enemy General over ledge. Gold Skull 2: Beat level owning all Monk shrines. Gold Skull 3: Defeated at least 5 foes using the Crow Monk. Guide: There are ledges on either side of the map and also in the middle (hit/gust them off the bridges). You'll want to draw the enemy General towards one of these, by positioning your units near them (in a spirit wall). Once he is near the edge, either hit him or use gust to push him over. There are three Monk shrines in this level. One up the top, one in the middle and one down the bottom. To begin with, send a cavalry unit to haunt the top shrine, as well as an archer to protect him. Push a few units through the middle to take control of the area surrounding the Crow Monk shrine (a spirit wall at the start of the "enemy bridge" is a good idea) and then haunt the shrine. At the bottom, use any remaining units (including your General) to wipe out any resistance there. Also, if you see an enemy trying to haunt the bottom shrine, use your Crow Monk -- who should remain in the middle, near his shrine -- to gust the unit away from it. After a few turns, enemy units will arrive behind you, so be prepared to defend the shrines -- especially the top one. Capture the soldier shrine up there if need be. If you kill the enemy General whilst owning all of the Monk shrines, you will be awarded the skull. The Crow Monk cannot attack, well, not in the traditional sense. He can only gust enemy units. Thus, in order to defeat 5 units, you'll need to gust them off ledges. The best way to do this is to stick around the middle of the level, so that the enemy comes across the bridge for you. When they're on it, select gust and line up the white line that appears behind the unit, with the ledge. The white line shows the direction the gust will push the unit(s) in. If the unit falls off the edge, that is one defeated, four to go. Be sure to place an infantry unit directly in front of your Crow Monk when waiting for the enemy to come for you. It will keep him safe. Also, eat any skulls you come across, as the two turns demon form provides will be useful. Level Name: Autumn Assault Gold Skull 1: Enemy General defeated by a cleansing shrine. Gold Skull 2: Beat level with at least 800 rice. Gold Skull 3: Defeated enemy General with your General. Guide: Before we go further, let me make it clear, you should save before attempting "Gold Skull 1", as it is likely to take several attempts. Each cleansing shrine does 1 damage - to whom depends on who is controlling the shrine, and whose turn it is. The most damage you're able to inflict with the cleansing shrines is two (due to two shrines overlapping). That's what makes it difficult to kill the enemy General with the shrine. He will often heal if you get him to low health, or he will attack, basically amounting to him suiciding (the counter attack kills him). Take note of what units you're using to hit him with. The difference between your attack strength and his defense strength is what determines the damage he will receive. Use this knowledge to get him to low health, then draw him into the range of the shrines. If going for the 800 rice, you should rush immediately to the Fox shrine (it is to the left and across the water from your spawn) and haunt it. Don't worry too much about haunting the rice paddies at this stage, as the archers above will hurt you, a lot. Bring the Fox Monk back to where you spawn, and make a stand with your other units at the two cleansing shrines above. Kill everyone in the immediate area, eat at least one skull with your Fox Monk then begin purifying skulls. Try to strike a balance between the amount you purify and the amount your units eat. You'll want your General to gain demon form, as well as at least one other unit. If purifying the skulls doesn't get you over 800, begin to haunt the rice paddies. Don't spend any rice unnecessarily (such as level 3 spells) and you should be fine. As suggested in the paragraph above, make a stand just above your spawn, at the two cleansing shrines. When the enemies stop coming for you, move up to the stairs on your right. Quickly haunt the two shrines there (make sure to protect the units haunting them), and make another stand there. Once the enemy numbers have dwindled to a reasonable amount, attack the enemy General. Get the killing blow with your own General (who, if he has attained demon form should have 3 attacks per turn) and the final skull is yours.
  12. Level Name: Guardian Gardens Gold Skull 1: Beat level with no enemy monks alive. Gold Skull 2: Defeated enemy General with your General. Gold Skull 3: Defeated at least 1 monk by haunting its shrine. Guide: This level has Demon Fox Monks from the get-go, so they're quite powerful and resilient. If attacking them, you're going to need to gang up, as it will take 3-4 units to take one down (depending on if your General is involved). I would suggest upgrading your General to demon form, then hunting one of the Monks down. Leave the other. Kill a lot of the enemies until the shrines near the enemy General are somewhat clear. Allow one of your units (preferably one with plenty of health, in case of an enemy attack) to haunt it. If you've killed one of the monks, check the shrine to see whether it has a purple fire below it. If it does, that's the one you should haunt. Upon doing so, the enemy Monk will die, granting you the skull. Defeating the General with your General is a case of upgrading him then throwing him in there. If you get there early enough, the enemy General will still be low health and meditating, allowing you to attack without any counter-attacks coming your way. Here is a video of all 3 gold skulls being achieved: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dyXgQpEDT30]Skulls of the Shogun | Guardian Gardens - YouTube[/ame] Level Name: Raiden's Rampage Gold Skull 1: Beat level without losing any units. Gold Skull 2: Enemy General defeated by an Oni. Gold Skull 3: Beat level in under 4 minutes. Guide: Gold skull 1 & 3 are ridiculously easy. First thing, send your cavalry unit down to the salamander shrine and haunt it. Send some of your other units in that direction. When you begin the next turn, use your Salamander to target the enemy General; he should take 3-4 health off him. Follow up that attack with an archer, or cavalry (whatever is in range) and he will die a quick death. From those easy skulls, we move to a rather difficult one. In order to summon an Oni, your salamander must eat one skull, he also needs to be within range of an enemy unit (or another Oni). Try to back all of your units into a corner, after casting an Oni (you can cast 3 in total), to force the enemy General to run into them. Be careful though, you don't want the Oni to hit you, so try to steer clear of it. Save often! Here is a video of "Gold Skull 1" and "Gold Skull 3" being achieved: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=peFvDgiP67c]Skulls of the Shogun | Raiden's Rampage - YouTube[/ame] Level Name: Murderous Moats Gold Skull 1: Damaged Kurokawa. Gold Skull 2: Knockback at least 8 enemies over ledges. Gold Skull 3: All enemies at campfire section of the level defeated by an Oni. Guide: Kurokawa is the blue General at the end of the level, who sits behind 3 archers. In order to damage him, you'll need to defeat an archer in front of him, then target him with your own archer or salamander. This is within one turn -- if you end the turn without hitting him, another archer will spawn, protecting him. Another option at your disposal, is to upgrade your Salamander Monk to demon form and use his lightning spell to hit Kurokawa. Target one of the archers in front of him and he'll be hit too. The lightning spell requires 100 rice to cast, but is an easy (and guaranteed) way of getting this skull. (Thanks Sceneman) At the beginning of the level, you should be able to get 3 knockback's immediately. Your next opportunity will be at the very end (when you encounter Kurokawa and the green General). Keep your units in the fray, near the bridges (preferably the bottom one, so you don't get hit by archers). Create a spirit wall and wait for enemies to come to you. When they do, hit them off the edge. Check the objective screen to see whether you've reached the target, or maintain a manual count. When you begin the level, there is a salamander shrine just ahead. Use this, but leave one skull for him. When he arrives, eat the skull so you unlock the "Summon Oni" spell and head onward. You'll see the fire as soon as you reached the next area. Move down a bit and target those around it with your Oni spell. He will spawn on the next turn. Move all of your units back, in case they would accidentally kill the enemy instead of the Oni. You can continue to cast a couple more Oni's, to be certain that they will get the job done. Here is a video of "Gold Skull 3" being achieved: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oj-CXwb1IvU]Skulls of the Shogun | Murderous Moats - YouTube[/ame] Level Name: Hurricane Plain Gold Skull 1: Defeated enemy General with your General. Gold Skull 2: Defeated 3+ enemies via lightning shield counter-attack. Gold Skull 3: Beat level with at least 2 monks as demons. Guide: This map is essentially split in half by a river. What you want to do, is move your Archers and Salamanders to the edge of the river on your side and shoot any enemies that get close. They will try to haunt the rice paddies and the Salamander shrine, which gives you the perfect opportunity to take them out. While you're covering the middle with your ranged units, advance to the top left corner of the map with your General and another unit. Try to push to the bridge, so that you can pick up the skulls of the enemies your ranged units have taken out. Keep eating the skulls until you have a couple of demon units, then attack the enemy General. You can hit him and then run back towards the river, so that your ranged units can shoot him next turn. At random intervals throughout the level, units will be awarded a lightning shield -- the lightning shield appears as a white circle around your unit and will damage any enemy units that attack it. You can't really rely on the random shield, so what you should do is eat two skulls with a Salamander Monk in order to unlock the lightning shield spell. Once you have it unlocked, you can cast it on any of your units (it costs 25 rice though) which makes it a lot easier to get the kills required. It will require some sacrifice on your behalf though. Cast the lightning shield on your unit then send him to the enemy with the lowest health. You may die on the following turn, but as long as you killed one of the enemy with your shield, it can be considered a success. The lightning shield does 2 damage to your opponent. There are four monk shrines in this map: two Salamander Monk shrines and two Fox Monk shrines. I would suggest going for the Salamander shrine on your side of the map and the Fox shrine on the left. You'll need to protect them, so it's a good idea to haunt the ones on your side, as opposed to near the enemy's spawn. Eat three skulls with each of your Monks to turn them into demons and then send them to the back, or protect them with other units. Level Name: Forsaken Flights Gold Skull 1: Defeated at least 5 Oni. Gold Skull 2: No allies damaged by Oni. Gold Skull 3: Defeated enemy General with your General. Guide: You'll notice upon starting this level that there are a lot of skulls scattered around the map, mostly outside of the caves. You might think "Hey, free skulls, great!", but unfortunately it isn't the case. If you get close to the cave, an Oni will pop out next turn. You will see eyes appear in the cave, which is when you know you have got their attention. Oni hit hard, but have limited movement. Use this to your advantage. Use your cavalry to provoke them; run in, grab a skull, run out. On the following turn, hit the Oni with your archers and if its still not dead, hit it with your melee units. The Oni respawn after a few turns, so you can either "camp" outside one cave or make your way to the others. Kill 5 of them and you'll get the gold skull. The next skull requires you to take no damage from the Oni, so you will want to avoid the caves as best you can. If you do accidentally provoke the Oni (or the enemy does), maintain your distance from it and either sneak past it (remember the limited movement range) or kill it with your ranged units. The enemy General is well protected to start with, thus you should try to thin the enemy's ranks first, before bringing your own General up. As always, eat three skulls with him, so you can take advantage of his demon form. Take the enemy General with your own and you'll receive the third gold skull. 13. This is a guide for each of the 55 gold skulls in Skulls of the Shogun. I would recommend playing on easy and saving often, as things don't always go to plan... Anyway, onto the guide. Level Name: Line Limbo Gold Skull 1: Beat level without losing any units. Guide: This is the first level in the game and thus it's very simple. Play smart, keep your infantry out in front to take the brunt of attacks (they have the best defense) and eat skulls to maintain their health. Here is a video of this particular skull being achieved. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FX4f5IxiYR8]Skulls of the Shogun | Line Limbo - YouTube[/ame] Level Name: Bedlam Beach Gold Skull 1: Beat level without losing any units. Guide: Another fairly simple one, with the exception of the last encounter. When you reach the end of each encounter, make sure to eat the skulls before continuing to the arrow. I recommend upgrading an archer and a cavalry unit to demon form, to face the final group. Here is a video of this skull being achieved. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yaZ2g6mLGCo]Skulls of the Shogun | Bedlam Beach - YouTube[/ame] Level Name: Archer Ambush Gold Skull 1: Beat level without losing any units. Gold Skull 2: Beat level with at least 500 rice. Guide: In this map, there are many archers hidden in the bamboo (which grants a 20% evasion bonus). Once you kill them, be sure to make use of the bamboo yourself -- it may cause the enemy to miss. Below your spawn in the bamboo, there is a green potion (it will appear when you walk near it), pick this up to increase your health regeneration and total health. With regards to staying alive, be prepared for the ambush once you kill all of the initial enemies on screen. They come from the far left of screen, so try not to have any low health units there. For the 500 rice, try to keep one unit alive in the first part of the level, whilst you haunt the rice paddies. Once you have your 500, proceed to finish the level. Don't buy units. Here is a video showing both skulls being achieved: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9p2g4yNcIJE]Skulls of the Shogun | Archer Ambush - YouTube[/ame] Level Name: Glorious Gates Gold Skull 1: Beat level without awakening your General. Gold Skull 2: Defeated enemy General with your General. Gold Skull 3: Beat level with at least 2 demon allies alive. Guide: Straight off, you'll notice that two of these conflict with one another, which means it will take two playthroughs. To beat it without awakening your General, simply leave him meditating and take out the General with your other units. Do this by killing the unit directly in front of their General, then attacking him with every unit in range. He will have low health with it being so early in the match and will go down. Also, be aware there is a potion in the bamboo to the right of your spawn that will help. To defeat the enemy General with your General, do the same as above except wake up your General as soon as the mission begins. Try to drink the potion with him, so he can output more damage. Get the final blow with him to receive the gold skull. Beating the level with 2 demon allies alive is the hardest skull for this level. You will essentially need to kill the majority of units surrounding their General, and try to duck in and out of the action with your units eating the enemy skulls. Focus on only two units, as the quicker you get them to demon level, the better. Awaken your General to help out -- you can make him a demon if you want. Here is a video showing the "2 demon allies" skull being achieved: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0dW4ZmbglN4]Skulls of the Shogun | Glorious Gates - YouTube[/ame] Level Name: Sakura's Solace Gold Skull 1: Beat level with at least 2 monk allies alive. Gold Skull 2: Beat level with at least 1000 rice. Gold Skull 3: Beat level without losing any units. Guide: This can be a little tricky. In order to have 2 monks alive at the end, you need to first haunt their shrines to bring them into existence. Then, you need to protect their shrines from potential capture. If the shrine is captured, your monk will die and you'll need to recapture it. Once you have both your monks, keep the back from the action and you should be ok. 1000 rice is a lot and it will likely require you to take advantage of the monks "purifying" spell. What this spell does, is it converts any skull (yours or the enemy's) into 75 rice. If you find that you haven't got enough rice from the paddies, use this spell to get the rest. Of note, your Fox Monk is required to eat one skull before he can access this spell. Beating the level without losing any units is all about defense. Try to hang back and wait until their units try to capture the rice paddies. When they do, they won't counter-attack, so it's the perfect time to damage them. Keep your infantry out front and get your General to demon level as soon as possible. Snipe with your archers (get behind your infantry, connected in a spirit wall) and you should be ok. Avoid the enemy General like the plague, until you're confident that you will be able to take him down without a unit getting killed. Here is a video of both "Gold Skull 1" and "Gold Skull 2" being achieved: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvgVBccD6KA]Skulls of the Shogun | Sakura's Solace - YouTube[/ame] Level Name: Pink Pursuit Gold Skull 1: Beat level without losing any units. Gold Skull 2: Beat level with your General as a Demon. Gold Skull 3: Defeated at least 25 enemies. Guide: Within a couple of turns, you will find enemies spawning behind you (where you began). You must get to the bridge. Immediately, send a cavalry unit to knock the archer off the ledge, then send all of your units in that direction. Allow your General to eat the skull, and those of any other enemies (assuming your other units aren't too damaged) in order to become a demon. He will be a great help in demon form. Archers are your greatest enemy, so keep moving forward and target them above all else when you get in range. At the very end, when you get near the bridge, a few reinforcements (an archer and a soldier) will arrive. Be prepared for that. Save very often in this one, as there are a couple of chokepoints where things can end very badly. As for defeating 25 enemies, remember where you killed that first archer? Stay in that area and let the enemy come to you. It will be an absolute slaughter and eventually they will stop spawning. You can manually count or check the objective menu, though it only tells you whether you have reached 25 kills or you haven't. No actual numbers. If the gold skull is coloured but not exactly solid, you have fulfilled the requirement but need to end the level. Level Name: Potion Panic Gold Skull 1: Beat level with at least 4 enemies alive. Gold Skull 2: Knockback at least 3 enemies into thorns. Gold Skull 3: Beat level with at least 2 demon allies alive. Guide: To beat the level with 4 enemies remaining, you are going to need to ignore the majority of their units and go straight for the General. There are several potions hidden in the bamboo, as always, make sure you grab them for the extra damage/health. Once you get to the General, try to hit him towards the ledge, to end it a bit sooner. The thorns are scattered around the level, they are brown and spiky looking -- as you would expect. To knockback an enemy, you must use either your General, an infantry unit or a cavalry unit. Archers don't work. When you go to target an enemy, a line will appear behind them, showing the direction they will be pushed. Use this to line the hit up with the thorns. If you do it right, you will notice the unit receives and extra "-1" below the normal damage displayed. 2 demon allies is a simple one. Eat 3 skulls with two separate units, to turn them into demon's. Keep them alive, whether by retreating them or healing them after they take damage, in order to receive the skull. Here is a video showing "Gold Skull 1" and "Gold Skull 3" being achieved: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2obf6zLYBE]Skulls of the Shogun | Potion Panic - YouTube[/ame]
  14. Demon's ignore the spirit wall, as do crow monks. So, if either of them is in your vicinity, get away from the edges. Despite this, spirit walls are essential to your success, especially with regard to archers. If you have another unit in front of you (in a spirit wall) whilst shooting with an archer, you cannot be counter-attacked. Same with a salamander. Archers are one of the most dangerous units on the field, thus the reason why this is important. Smack them with a ranged unit to weaken them then kill them with melee, or another archer. I have videos up for many of the levels; they usually display the above in action, as well as other things. 15. I know this is extremely belated, but I stumbled upon this, which absolutely works. http://winsupersite.com/windows-8/windows-8-tip-share-apps-between-multiple-accounts
  16. Fuck this game. I have finished arcade mode 10 times now; it never sticks. I tried offline mode once, but for some reason it removed all of my achievements and then when I went online pretended that I never unlocked any offline. I like my achievements to be time stamped, thus the persistence with the online. However, I'm resigned to the fact that they just won't work, so hopefully offline will work on the second try. If not, something will be destroyed! lol.
  17. The guide for F1 2010 was up within a week or so of release. The guide for F1 2011 was up on the official release date (Daenius & I both had the game before then). I gave up on the series after 2011 (the demo for F1 2012 was a disaster), but no one stepped up to the plate to create a guide. Well, until now. It looks like Maka has it in the works. So, your perception of "time of release" until "guide creation" is off, except for 2012.
  18. True, but as I mentioned it was a placeholder. The guide went up within hours of the games release, some of the information was thrown in haphazardly or not at all, in the case of the roadmap. I only had the outline initially -- I was tired and needed to sleep. Games release on our marketplace betweem 8-10pm. Anyway, I stand by the change.
  19. I have the rest of the videos done, just got to upload them to YouTube. I feel I came into my own on the last few. lol. *Edit - They're all up now, I hope they help. In this genre, it's a very easy game. I get shot in the face 50 times and I'm still fine, whereas if I were to play another Shmup such as Deathsmiles, Triggerheart, etc one shot and I'm dead. I haven't had any other complaints about the 3/10 difficulty, so I think it's fine. Personally, I am completely terrible at any fighting game so I'd give them all close to 10, but it's not the general consensus. I feel that's the case here. The problem with these roadmaps is that the author needs to go on their own beliefs and how hard they found the game. I wouldn't mind doing polls like our sister site, to get a clearer picture. Looking on Trueachievements can usually give a good indication of a games difficulty -- infact the site was originally created for that exact purpose.
  20. Wow, I was busting my ass trying to beat all their times and it turns out you only need to beat one. lol. I too beat it with Vyse and unlocked the achievement.
  21. Is it possible to do the Time Trials offline? A lot of that guys leaderboard times are below the expert cut-off, seems a little strange. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt though. There must be some glitches for many of the tracks, as a couple of people have impossible times to get normally. I'm currently "stuck" on Sanctuary Falls, I need to find a couple of hudredths. Looking at the leaderboard, the guy in first is 30 seconds ahead of me, lol.
  22. Expert in World Tour is ok, imo, the traffic challenges are crazy but everything else is manageable. The expert time trials on the other hand... Wow. I tried the Chilly Christmas track (or whatever it's called) for a few hours, got 53.3, need 53.0. It's insane. I think only 2-3 people have beat it. I will get it done though, if it's the last thing I do. I would love to see the person at Sumo who is setting this time, he/she is some sort of kart racing god. I doubt more than a handful of people will unlock the Yokozuna achievement. *Edit - finally beat it.
  23. I'm at 152 stars IIRC, still only got the A license. There is a character that is unlocked by reaching 160 stars. The only way you can reach 160 is by playing on expert, so there is certainly a lot of motivation to continue playing. Apparently you can unlock expert by winning the 5 grand prix on hard, I didn't know until a few hours ago so I kind of wasted time going through the world tour on hard. Still, no biggie, that unlocked it too and I guess I'm well prepared for expert... except for the traffic challenges which are fucked. It took me over an hour to beat the JSR traffic challenge on expert, you need to have a near perfect run.
  24. This may be my mistake. When I did the game, I went Perfect Agent solo -> Dark Agent solo -> Perfect Agent co-op -> Dark Agent co-op. I can't remember whether Dark Agent was available to me in co-op after doing it solo. It probably was, but I went through with my partner on Perfect Agent so that he would be awarded for Dark Agent. If he joined off my game, he wouldn't get it if he didn't have Dark Agent available to him. I may need to amend the guide. If someone can confirm that you can go solo or co-op perfect/dark/dark, I'll do it.
  25. So, I know it's been a long time since I've done anything with this guide... however, I have recently built a gaming PC and bought Zeit, thus I'm able to record videos. I will tackle the bosses over the next couple of nights, you can hold me to that! lol. I'll also amend the time achievement. Cheers. Here is level 1-2. I haven't really done videos before or commentary, so it may be a little rough around the edges. I did what I could though.
