Fanatical (ex-BundleStars... I hate their new name, lol) was running a bundle sale all week. Featuring one to two new game bundles every day along with daily Flash sales. I scored quite a few things, with some duplicates to hand out to some buddies.
I picked up the Lucius bundle for the sole purpose of adding the Lucius Demake to my collection. I figured I'd buy the whole thing since it was only a dollar, which allowed me to complete my collection and hand out the first two games to a buddy.
Lucius (PC, Digital)
Lucius II (PC, Digital)
If you haven't previously heard of these games, I recommend looking into them immediately. It's pretty much a video game version of The Omen. You can find them very cheap and they'll provide you with hours of entertainment. I've only heard amazing things, but I've yet to start either one even though I've owned them both forever. Hopefully this finally pushes me.
Lucius Demake (PC, Digital) - The demake is just that. It's pretty much the original game but top-down and pixelated to give it the feel that it's an 80's video game. I'm in no hurry for this one, but eventually I'll get around to it.
Outside of that, I only purchased one other bundle during the sale and I mainly did it for a second copy of Barony and a copy of Bad Dream: Coma.
Deadlight (PC, Digital) - This is a game I've had interest in for years. I'm sure by now everyone has played it and formed their opinions, but I have yet to do so. Unfortunately it won't be getting played for quite some time and it sounds like the PC version isn't the greatest so I may skip it entirely.
Kingdom Rush Frontiers (PC, Digital) - A mobile-esque tower defense game. I've always been interested in the title as I love TD games, but again, too much on my plate currently to devote to a mobile TD game. It's got spectacular reviews on Steam though, so I'm not opposed, but I'd rather get some of my bigger games finished.
GoNNER (PC, Digital) - Rouge-like platformer that looks to be not only hard as hell, but very entertaining. I'll likely load this guy up sometime soon just to get a feel for it. I've always hear phenomenal things and I need a platformer in my life right now.
Replica (PC, Digital) - Interesting concept in that the entire game takes place on a cell phone. It's somewhat of a visual novel/interactive novel and it looks to have garnered wonderful reviews. Admittedly, I'm much more interested in Orwell, which has a similar feel to it but looks to be much deeper. However, this looks to be a quick run-through so I may give it a shot before Orwell.
The Count Lucanor + Soundtrack (PC, Digital) - Horror themed RPG in the vein of early classics such as Zelda. I haven't gotten around to playing this yet, though I've owned a copy forever. I gave this copy to a friend who just got a PC but mainly collects retro, so he should enjoy it.
Bad Dream: Coma (PC, Digital) - This is the main reason I purchased the bundle. This game looks awesome! It's a horror themed point and click adventure with a very interesting and dark art style. I'll be getting to this immediately! It looks very similar in aesthetic to Neverending Nightmares.
Mad Games Tycoon (PC, Digital) - I love simulation games in this vein, and the game looks very similar to Game Dev Tycoon, which I loved! I'd like to do some more work on Game Dev and make it through some of the other achievements before moving onto Mad Games, but it's definitely something I'm looking forward to.
Barony (PC, Digital) - Phenomenal game! I was happy to get another key to this and pass it out to a friend. This is a 3D first-person rogue-like dungeon crawler for up to 4 players via internet or LAN. It's very unforgiving but with a handful of friends it's a great time. Highly recommended.
I'll have to take a break from buying games for a while, though I fully intend on purchasing Vermintide II soon. However, this trip back home to Chicago is going to cost a pretty penny and I should be saving some shekels for that.
