LordChicken88
Overview: - Estimated achievement difficulty:4/10 - Offline: 11 [1000:gsicon:] - Online: 0 [0:gsicon:] - Approximate amount of time to 1000:gsicon:: 8-10 Hours - Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 1 - Missable achievements: None - Does difficulty affect achievements: No - Unobtainable/glitched achievements: None - Extra equipment needed: None, but an extra player is advised Note: Only the host of the game will unlock progression based achievements, meaning extra players will not unlock ‘All the Trimmings’ or ‘Hero of Thyme’. Introduction: Welcome to Overcooked, a chaotic couch co-op cooking game for 1-4 players. You and your fellow chefs have been tasked with stopping The Ever Peckish Beast, an insatiable Italian favourite, by feeding it different meals to save the Onion Kingdom. You and your friends, along with the Onion King travel back in time to hone your skills until the Beast’s arrival. Be aware this game does contain a 1:gsicon: achievement which is easy to obtain, and a 199:gsicon: achievement which requires game completion. If you are bothered by this, make sure you’re ready for the long haul. You can play multiplayer with a second controller, or you can select Controller Split Settings from the Options menu and assign two player to both halves of one controller, allowing you to play multiplayer. Abbreviated Walkthrough: To obtain the 1000:gsicon: for this game you will need to get 3 stars in every level, play one level of multiplayer, and put out one kitchen fire. The game contains 30 levels in total, 28 score based and 2 story based. Story based missions give 3 stars upon completion, while score based levels require you to get a certain amount of points to meet the three star rating. Whilst there are no multiplayer achievements, having an extra player can help, as certain levels are easier to complete with others. Mop-Up: Once you have completed the single player campaign and got 3 stars, there will be 2 achievements left to obtain. The first is ‘Overcooked’ which you will most likely obtain anyway, and the second is ‘Does not play well with others’ which requires you to play a Versus match, and either play on one split controller, two different controllers, or with a friend. Conclusion: Overcooked is fun to play, fast paced and great with friends. You’ll definitely want to give this game a go if you and your friends enjoy blaming each other for unwashed dishes. Keep in mind that if you’re going for the full 1000:gsicon: then it is not an easy task, especially alone, as some levels require almost perfect runs. Because of this, having another player is advised as it halves your workload. Achievement Guide: http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/1534/119855-lo.jpg All the Trimmings 199:gsicon: Be awarded three stars in every kitchen To earn 3 stars in a kitchen you must gain a certain number of tips per level. The tips tend to vary on difficulty, so expect lower requirements to be on harder levels. The amount of stars needed is also affected by the amount of players in the game, with more players increasing the amount of points you need. If you are struggling on a level with co-op, it may be a good idea to try and complete the level single-player for reduced tips. Alternatively if a level is not working for you single-player, you could try using a split controller or with another player as sometimes the requirement may go up by as little as 10. A few tips: - Start the level and find out what the gimmick is. See if tables move, look for where items/appliances are and make a plan. Going in blind will almost always make things harder. - Make sure to alter your screen size so you can see the bars above recipes. These tell you how long until you will get a point reduction (when the bar empties) and how many tips you will get (how full the bar is). - If you know a meal is going to give you a reduction, move on to the next meal, as the failed meal will have its timer reset. It is much better to complete the next meal and come back to the failed meal, rather than getting another reduction. - If you are playing single-player, you can give one chef an action (chopping, cleaning etc.) and switch to your other chef, and the original chef will continue to perform the action. - Press to do a dash, this will make moving around much quicker. - Prioritise and hand out jobs, there shouldn’t be too much time where you are standing still. Make sure each chef has a job to do and don’t be afraid to help another chef if one is struggling and the other has nothing to do. Also remember what’s important to serve, a meal is useless without a clean plate. http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/1534/119856-lo.jpg Hero of Thyme 150:gsicon: Complete Overcooked and save the Onion Kingdom! Leaving the food after the bar is filled will cause a flashing warning sign to appear which if unattended, will cause a fire. Allow a fire to start, pick up the fire extinguisher which can be found on a counter on every level, hold facing the fire to extinguish it, and you will unlock this achievement. http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/1534/119854-lo.jpg Lettuce Begin 1:gsicon: Deliver a recipe to the Great and Terrifying Ever Peckish As you start the game, in the tutorial you will be asked to feed a salad to the Ever Peckish. Bare Bum Cheeks
Not sure how easy co-op is, but getting 3 stars solo is much more difficult than 4/10. I'm nearly done, but I just spent two hours trying to 3 star level 6-1 before finally getting it. 4/10 is like... breezy. this is about a 7/10 I'd say so far. Just warning people who don't have a couch co-op partner. UPDATE: Completed the game solo, I give it 6/10 difficulty solo.
