What old school wrestlers have you met or had autographs from?

Recommended Posts

Well i'm basically from Toronto, and back when i was 10, i saw Wrestlemania VI. It was the greatest thing back then as i was a super wrestling fan. I didn't get no autographs or meet anyone then, but the wrestling tour came to my hometown time and time again after that.

My cousin got me Lex Lugers autograph because he showed up to the event in an American flag shirt and he stood out LOL, so they had him carry the flag down to the ring. YA, the american flag here in ontario. Quite funny. After the shawn michaels main event match, everyone jumped over the barrier and hopped in the ring, me included, except i didn't go in the ring, i tried to remove a turnbuckle cover. LOL

So i got lex lugers autograph, The Model Rick Martel cause he lives close by to here. Really, i wasnt' even a luger fan. Miss the old school wrestling.

I have an autograph from Ax from demolition. My brother has one from King Kong Bundy. I almost got to meet Randy Orton and Chris Benoit at a Walgreen's in my town when they were here for a house show a few years back. My friend got to meet them and "forgot" to call me when she saw them.

British Bulldog, first in a gym in 94 then at a big press gathering the day they did that UK show (the one HBK beat him for the European title)

HBK, first time at above press thing, second time signing his book in 2005

Bret Hart signing his book this past April

Scott Hall at a meet and greet promoting the WCW house shows coming to the UK the next year

The rest are all more modern guys (Goldberg, Regal, Torrie, Victoria, Hardcore Holly, Spike Dudley, RVD, Mickie James, Mark Henry, Gail Kim, Mick Foley and Batista I got to meet as part of a VIP party who knew him personally and took me for the ride day before WM24)

Rob Van Dam and Booker T came into where I work and bought some sodas and snacks (there's a hotel behind my work, which is a convenience store) and got a pic and their autographs. This was during the time ECW was not on the air and when they came in I was like "EC F'N W" and everyone in the store was going nuts. It was a definitely a classic moment in my life.

My buddy also got an autograph on a Bret Hart t-shirt by the late Owen Hart. He was a genuinely nice guy and definitely left us way too early.

Shawn Micheals wasnt in the main even for wrestlemania VI he was fighting the Orient Express, so how the hell was he in the main event match? And Lex Luger was working for WCW, so i doubt he would have been allowed to carry the american flag to the ring. However I Digress from the holes is your canadian story and would like to say I met the Warlord, Blast (Who was Ax partner on the Indy Circuit), and a few others at an Indy Show. I also walked right past Hulk Hogan as Hogan got off a plane my father was on, hes enormous in person by the way as is the warlord.

This was during the time ECW was not on the airQUOTE]

Not on the air as in what?

Just wondered cause it's kinda always been on the air (both the old ECW on TNN before it became Spike TV and the newer one on Sci Fi) unless you mean like a house show or something.

ECW on TNN went off the air in 2001 (i believe) when Paul Heyman sold the company to Vince McMahon. ECW didn't make a return until 2006 (One Night Stand) and then became a watered down bullshit version of it's original.

The Rob Van Dam/Booker T meeting happened in the 2002-2003 timeframe, hence being during when ECW was not on the air.

There was atleast a 4 year hiatus for ECW.

I've met Hogan ( Comes down to Key West and got his Autograph and had a chance to talk with him for a while ) I've met Hacksaw Jim Duggan ( Came to Key West for a fishing Tournament and met him ) and Finally I've met Undertaker or Mark Calaway got his autograph before.

These are the old School Wrestlers I've met a few more of the newer ones I'd guess you would call them.

You pretty much told me everything I knew already and everything I said in my post basically, my confusion was you said when ECW was off the air at the time I was all "why couldn't he have said the year?"

When I was younger (I think around 93-94) I was staying in a hotel in Birmingham (UK), that loads of WWF wrestlers were also staying at. I didn't see the wrestling, but did get to meet quite a few, but the only ones I can remember are The Undertaker (who was truly HUGE, and dressed head to toe in Air Jordan lol) and his manager Paul Bearer. I also got to meet Rowdy Roddy Piper, when he made some sort of exercise video in London (called Fighting Fit IIRC) with a bunch of kids, and I was one of them!
