I say give it a few more tries using different methods and if that doesn't work out, then start a new game and try again. And you have 70,000 kills with 1 hour and 40 minutes left and I'm presuming it's game time not real time. I think you have a shot at this, as I can easily get around 1300 kills per hour plus the extra 40 minutes trying to get the other 700 kills.

Give it patience, it will come.

how do you manage to get so many kills an hour i can only get the 1000 an hour if im lucky. Yes the 1 hour 40 is game time i started again from my 70000 kills but am now worse off than ever, im ending up 200-300 short this time

Edit: never mind got it now dunno how i managed it but i managed 72,088 soooo glad i didnt have to start that one again

Just in case anyone's interested in more feedback, I got it done with 4 in-game hours left. I made one pass with the SUV through the whole outside area, hitting the big groups. When I made it back to where the SUV was, I entered the Casino nearby and entered the Strip again to spawn more zombies. Its not going to work for everyone, I'm sure, but it worked for me.

72k with 9 hours to spare was easily accomplished by following the tips in the OP, I saved around every 20-25k in the Yucatan Casino. Here are a few additional tips.

The crowds in the later days are fat with zombies waiting to get run over so you should be able to make up some ground if you fell behind

The zombies come out at night in thicker packs so try to stay out there and minimize your running for saves if you can help it

Zombies die when you are using reverse too so always aim for crowds even when backing up (real helpful around the left and right sides of the arena steps)

I hope this helps and good luck

i waited a long time to attempt this achievement because it seemed annoying, but i just got it very easily. had hours and hours left to spare in 72 hour mode.

the key is to establish a good route where you spend most of your time in the highly populated areas (near the arena, in the center by the save point, and further on by the concert stage). i would also recommend that people not waste a lot of time by saving and reloading from the save point in the center... use it to save your game every 5,000 or so zombies, but don't reload there. instead, reload the zombies by entering and exiting yucatan briefly. this will end up spawning leon and the snipers eventually, but they take very little time to dispose of and the extra zombies you get this way will keep you on track to getting 1,000 zombies+ per in-game hour.

if you use an ideal route from the very beginning and follow these directions, you should end up finished with lots of time to spare.

10pm day 1 and I'm at 15k so all looks good. Thanks for the info.

Well ... Edit... I'm trending a little behind and getting nervous. I have a question since I've yet to do coop. Do both players kills count towards the same count? I.e. Let's say I'm 2k behind with two hours to go. Can somebody join grab the bike and help out?

Got this a while back, and thought I'd share my experience. I was having a real hard time getting 1k an hour with the SUV. I watched a dozen or so YouTube vids, read tips on the forums here, and still I failed to reach it.

This is the last achievement I needed. (and the 5k and 53k one at that point) I was level 50, so I had everything needed.

First try I ignored the storyline. Rushed to the driving mag, got on the bike near arena, into the SUV and started my runs. I was 2k ahead on 7 pm the first day, probably due to not wasting too much time and getting a decent headstart. Then I slowly started falling more and more behind on the 1k/hour schedule. When I was about to reach 22k zombies killed I was already 2k behind schedule, so I somehow got from 2k ahead to 2k behind within 10k kills. I decided not to risk it and go for the safe route: Play the storyline.

So I restarted, and went to do the story. Everytime there was some spare time I would go out and kill zombies in my usal laps, getting around 900 zombies/hour. I kept driving up until I was called to do some case, stretching my Zombie killing time as much as I could. I was able to keep a pretty steady pace, most cases didn't even cost me too much time to do.

I ignored all survivors and psycho's except 1: I killed Leon to get access to the chainsaw bike to try if that would allow me to kill faster. Having the bike with 1 bike magazine that I got during the completion of case 3 did allow me to net just over 1k / hour of zombies killed when I tried. However, shortly after I started that method the Snipers spawned. For some reason they are unable to hit me when I just walk around, but when driving a bike at ludicrous speed they will just plain snipe you off. Retarted game. So I gave up on the bike again and continued in my trusted SUV for the rest of the game.

When the military came and the extra unlocked time came into play I was on something like 61k kills. Not too far behind on schedule considering the amount of extra time I unlocked this way.

I kept doing cases to eventually unlock overtime should it be needed, but I managed to get the 72k zombies before I went to roof for the "final" battle at around 9:15 PM.

I had plenty of time to get that case done, complete the facts and unlock and complete overtime for the "S" ending after getting the 72k killed achievement.

For everyone that is not getting the 1k / hour or would like a safe way to get the achievement: Just do the storyline and kill zombies in between. It should give you plenty of added time to achieve it.

I wish I tried it right away the first time I attempted to get the achievement.

Hmmm well I'm directly on pace as it seems (24 1/2 hours with 24k kills to go). This leads me to my previous question that seems more important.

Can somebody join me on a coop game and add kills to my total? If so I think that will help push me over the edge...

Holy... Crap....

I pop 72k and the ending goes RIGHT after. I think I got 72 on the last minute....

To what the gent posted above me I would definately agree with doing the story.

But to reask my question in a different way.... Now that I have a save at 69k, can somebody join me on the last 3000 and get credit for it?

As far as I have read (I haven't played any co-op yet) the kill count is seperate for both players. So your counter will be on 69k, and his would be on 0. Any kill made by you only goes to your kill total, and any kill made by him only goes to his total.

So no, I don't think it will work.

Hi, I'll try this achievement next weekend and I would like know what would be the best, as a lot of people gave different ways of doing it :

Should I reload the zombies every 1k kills or more than 1k ? And how ? Yucatan casino or save point in Fortune Park ? Should I do story mode until the military arrives and from this point not caring about the end of the case files ? Or should I start from the beginning and never stop until Day 4 10 am ?

Poirot to answer ur questions, yes u should reload the zombies after every 1k kills and do it by using yucatan casino and going straight back to the silver/platinum strip u know the area i'm talking about :p

And no u should not do the story at all just focus on getting zombie kills if u follow the guide you'll have more than enough time don't worry. SO by Day 4 10 am you should have enough kills although tbh I just did it until I got the achievement then restarted the story. Hope I helped.

And yes as long as you get 1k kills per in game hour you'll be good to go for the achievement, there is a really helpful killcount guideline someone posted on the 1st page idk who it was cbb to check atm but whoever it was you should use it it was really helpful for me.

Also to answer ur question page, if u can somehow average 1k kills in under less than a hour like 58 minutes or something like that then you should be able to get it.

Thanks for your answer, I think I'll try this today. Also, one last question, after how much kills should I save ?

EDIT : Day 1 3:09 PM, 10048 kills, think it's good for the moment. I'll save now.

I'm a bit scared by Leon (just got his call) and the snipers, what should I do with them ? As someone said there's less zombies when they're there.

EDIT 2 : Killed Leon, he cost me less than an hour. I read that I should be at 10000 kills Day 7 pm, it's Day 5:36 pm and I have 12000 kills ! Am I blessed or something ?

EDIT 3 : Day 2 11:53 am, 30000 kills.

EDIT 4 : That's getting ridiculous, I can get 1050 kills in 50 minutes ... Day 2 9 PM 40000 kills.

EDIT 5 : Day 3 10 am 54000 kills

EDIT 6 ! Achievement unlocked ! Day 4, 2:28 am. 7 hours 32 minutes to spare hehe. Since Day 3 I was able to make 1200 kills per hour. One advice to everyone trying the achievement, don't think you're screwed if you need more kills than hours left/1000, because there are a lot more zombies on the map near the end. :)
