I read the Divine Comedy. Prety interesting stuff. I haven't played this game though. Is it worth a buy?

I think so. It's really fun, but pretty much a God of War clone (which is fine with me). There's probably a demo still up on the marketplace if you want to check that out. As far as sticking to the Divine Comedy, I've read it's not accurate; I've not read it so I can't speak on it personally.

I just recently bought it, and I must say, I'm really enjoying it. I avoided it upon release because I didn't think I would find it to be all that interesting, but now I can enjoy it, and I got it cheaper than I would have at launch.

I voted 8/10 because there are a few annoying this, and I'm sure my rating will change as I progress through it, but as of right now, I'm really digging it.

I gave it a 10/10 for several reasons. This game basically lives in the shadow of God of War, and I think that's unfair. EA took a really intriguing idea and made what they could out of it. No one sat down and said "Hey, God of War is successful.... let's clone it!" They took the Divine Comedy and did something original with the plot line.

The gameplay is well done, the 60 fps looks gorgeous, the plot was direct, but each revelation drew me in deeper to the story. And although some people complain about the last few levels being more of the same, I'd argue that the creativity comes into play with the DLC. And as far as I know, God of War has no co-op. In my opinion, this game is usually under-rated, I'm hoping for a sequel.

I gave this game a 10/10. I don't think they could have made this game any better. It followed the book well (Had to read it in high school im only 20 lol) and i feel like this was the 360's god of war. It was an epic game and i had fun the whole time playing it although i rented it haha

I agree with the 7/10s.

I don't care that its a GoW clone (GoW was a clone too- a very, very good one). I just don't think it's necessarily a very good clone, if it was I'd definately say 8+. Sure, it's very similar - but the platforming elements are still much better in the original GoW (haven't played the sequels). The combat system in GoW is also much deeper since different enemies require different kill moves and combinations (much more difficult in the higher difficulties) and the different finishers you're allowed to do give you different drops. In Dante's Inferno spamming one attack through the whole game is easily doable (xx then yy has gotten me almost to the end all by itself) - it's simply not as deep. I'm not saying you can't spam in GoW, you can - but when you don't its rewarding, in DI it doesn't matter.

I like things to matter.

There are obvious elements taken from GoW - but the epic moments just don't feel nearly as epic either (there are a few good ones, like the platform turning out to be the giant demon's head) but the boss fights just don't have the same weight as the ones in GoW1.

Compare the walk on the titan in GoW 1 to the walk through Dis in DI - GoW is just way more epic in its scope. This has to do with the camera angles, larger environments, environment design, etc. Many times I felt cramped in DI - cramped can be good for feel, especially in Hell - but I never felt cramped in a good way. I wanted to feel the weight of Dante's journey through Hell - a seemingly tremendous and epic place.

Look at a Bosch, horrifyingly large and scary - DI didn't bring that feeling very often.

Again, not saying DI is bad. It's not.

I'm playing through it and having fun (hence the 7/10) - but if I was to pick wether to play this again or boot up my ps2 and replay GoW 1 I would play GoW 1 in a heartbeat, it's simply still better in every way.

Without that option DI is a fine second.

it was a good game 8/10 it was pretty underrated. only beef with the game was they kinda squished the main plot and everything at the last minute all together lol. things that could have and should have been explained early on just poof up at the last minute xD it did play a bit like God of War but i wouldnt say its a CLONE....for some reason everyone thinks that EVERY button masher is a God of War clone -___-
