Introduction:

Dragon Age II is the sequel to the popular, 3rd person RPG Dragon Age: Origins. The game takes place in the same world as Dragon Age: Origins, but follows a completely different character and story. You take on the role of Hawke, once a poor refuge, fleeing from the destruction of Lotherining. You will follow him on him his quest to becoming the Champion of Kirkwall. How you choose to do this is entirely up to you, but your choices will affect the world of Dragon Age forever.

Breakdown:

This roadmap was intended to be followed by people looking to get 100% completion as quickly as possible. Dragon Age II has 50 achievements, none of which require that you play or beat the game on a specific difficulty setting. The number of full playthroughs that you will need to do will be determined by whether or not you still have a DA: Origins save on your HDD.

With DA: Origins Save

Playthrough #1: Full Playthrough using any class. Side with mages or templars 5 times

Playthrough #2: Partial Playthrough using one of two remaining classes. Side with opposite faction from Playthrough #1 5 times.

Playthrough #3: Partial Playthrough using the remaining class. Play through the Prologue and introduction to Act I

The breakdown for playing without a DA: Origins save is exactly the same, except you will have to beat the game during your 2nd playthrough.

Playthrough #1

Start a new game on casual, the easiest difficulty setting. Since this will hopefully be your only full playthrough (if you have a DA: Origins save), I recommend picking a class that you are going to enjoy playing. There are many missable achievements in this game, so I will discuss them here to make sure you get them on your first playthrough.

PROLOGUE

Nefarious & Mercenary: Upon arriving in the Gallows of Kirkwall, you will be given the option to ally with either the smugglers or the mercenaries, but can only pick one. Take note on where to save in the guide.

ACT I

Chantry Historian: Immediately upon entering Kirkwall, visit the Chantry to get Chapter 1 of the History of the Chantry.

Birthright: After completing the quest "A New Home", speak with your mother, then sibling to start and complete this quest.

Archaeologist: Collect three secret messages for the Band of Three. See guide for locations.

Mage Hunter & Arcane Defender: The quests in Act I that allow you to choose sides are The Wayward Son, Act of Mercy & Enemies Among Us. For two of the quests pick one faction and for the third quest pick the other faction.

Master Craftsman & Supplier Check the achievement guide on where to obtain these supplies and recipes at the start and end of each Act, before progressing the story in to the following act. Once you progress the story, you will be unable to buy or find the Act specific items.

Financer: If you come across the side quest Friends in Low Places, DO NOT accept the money from Dougal as doing so will cause you to miss the achievement.

Finish any other side quests, companion quests and any other order of business before giving Bartrand the money to fund the Deep Road Expedition quest, as after starting it there is no turning back.

ACT II

Chantry Historian: Once you return to Kirkwall from the Deep Roads Expedition, head straight to the Chantry to pick up Chapter 2 before you forget. NOTE: Chapter 3 can only be found during the quest Following the Qun, so make sure to keep that in mind. Upon arriving in the Chantry during this quest, make sure you pick up Chapter 3 immediately. It can be found on the podium in front of you after the cutscene ends, so use your targetting wheel to pause combat and get it with ease. Once in combat, it will be much more difficult to pick up. If you happen to miss it due to the cutscene starting up, reload the last autosave.

Exorcist: The next order of business is to do the Forbidden Knowledge quest. It can be found in your new estate at the writing desk if you saved Idunna during the 'Enemies Among Us' quest. If not, travel to the Chantry or Viscount Keep to pick up one of the evil tomes to begin the quest. See the guide for specifics.

Archaeologist: Collect three secret messages for the Band of Three. See guide for locations.

Master Craftsman & Supplier: Check the achievement guide on where to obtain these supplies and recipes at the start and end of each Act, before progressing the story in to the following act. Once you progress the story, you will be unable to buy or find some of these.

That Thing Has Legs: After completing the main story quest Blackpowder Courtesy from the writing desk in your estate, speak with Merrill in her home to start her companion quest Mirror Image.

Mage Hunter & Arcane Defender: The quest in Act II that allows you to choose sides is Night Terrors. NOTE: It is a side quest started from a letter on your writing desk. Pick the faction that you did in the Enemies Among Us quest. You will now have sided with each faction twice. IMPORTANT: Save your game after completing this quest so you can return to this point after unlocking the achievement for one side.

Finish any other side quests, companion quests and anything else you desire to do before starting the 'Demands of the Qun' quest as there is no turning back once you get further into it.

A Worthy Rival: Earn the respect of the Arishok by speaking highly of him at every opportunity.

King of the Hill: Kill the Arishok or defeat him in a duel, but do not pick the option of a civilized outcome.

ACT III

Chantry Historian: Immediately upon the start of this Act head to the Chantry to finish off this achievement.

Demon Slayer: Right after Chantry Historian, travel to the Wounded Coast and Sundermount to collect the three scrolls (1 in Wounded Coast & 2 in Sundermount) and complete the associated quests. Doing all 3 quests will unlock a new quest in your journal.

Dragon Slayer: After Demon Slayer it is time to kill the High Dragon. If you have completed The Bone Pit and Inside Job quests during the previous Acts, seek out Hubert in the Hightown market to start the Mine Massacre quest. If you skipped them, travel to the Bone Pit to automatically start the quest.

Archaeologist: Collect three secret messages for the Band of Three. See guide for locations. All of these in Act III will be found during quests.

Supplier: Check the achievement guide on where to obtain the supplies at the start and end of this Act, before doing The Last Straw quest. Once you start this quest, you will be unable to buy or find some of these.

Mage Hunter & Arcane Defender: The quests in Act III that allows you to choose sides are Showdown, On The Loose, and Best Served Cold. Pick onne faction for all three and then restart from your save before Night Terrors and do this again with the opposite faction.

Crowning Glory: You must side with the templars during The Last Straw quest at the end of Act III. Your decision in this quest doesn't count towards siding with the mages or templars. The achievement will be rewarded after finishing the quest. NOTE: Doing the Last Straw quest is the point of no return so do anything else you wish to complete before starting it.

Playthrough #2

You should finish your first playthrough with 48 or 49 out of 50 achievements. All that should be remaining are Mass Exodus and Epic if you don’t have a completed Dragon Age: Origins save. Go ahead and pick one of the two remaining classes you haven’t played as. Reach Kirkwall with this class and Mass Exodus will be two-thirds completed. If you have the DA: Origins save, you can go ahead and save and exit this playthrough. Otherwise, continue and beat the main storyline for Epic.

Playthrough #3

This last partial playthrough will be fairly quick and you should have 49/50 achievements, only missing Mass Exodus. Pick the final class you haven’t played and simply reach Kirkwall.

Conclusion: Congratulations on your 1,000 :gsicon:! If you haven’t gotten some of the achievements, although you should have them all by now, load up a save and follow the achievement guide for the specific ones you are missing.

There are seven quests throughout the course of the game that let you side with either the mages or the templars. You will need to choose a faction and pick to side with them in 5 of these 7 quests. These 2 achievements CAN be done in the same playthrough if you properly utilize your saves. * - Indicates secondary quest

ACT I: Side with one faction twice and the other faction once (ex. Mage - 2, Templars - 1)

1. Wayward Son: Mage - Send Feynriel to the Dalish Templar - Send Feynriel to the Circle

2. Act of Mercy: Mage - When speaking with Grace, agree to kill Thrask Templar - Refuse to help Grace AND turn the mages over.

3. Enemies Among Us: Mage - Let Keran stay in the Templars Templar - Get Keran expelled from the Templars

ACT II: Side with the faction that you only sided with once in the Act I quests. You should now have sided with each faction twice. NOTE: Do the 'Night Terrors' quest right before you do the 'Demands of the Qun' quest and IMPORTANT: Make sure you save after completing it.

* 4. Night Terrors: Mage - Encourage Feynriel to control his abilities Templar - Turn Feynriel Tranquil

ACT III: Side with the same faction for all three quests. This should unlock the achievement for one side. Then simply reload your save game after the Night Terrors quest and do the same for the other faction to get both of these achievements in one playthrough.

5. Showdown: Not exactly a quest, but during the opening cutscenese of Act III, after finishing defeating the Arishok for Demands of the Qun, select the following dialogue options: Mage - "Orsino is right". Templar - "Meredith is right".

6. On the Loose: When speaking to Emile in the Hanged Man Inn: Mage - "I could let you go" or Templar - "Turn yourself in"

7. Best Served Cold: Mage - Select "Kill them all" when speaking with Cullen Templar - Select "Give Samson another chance"

Become a partner in a Deep Roads expedition.

[MISSABLE] For this achievement, you must pay Bartrand 50 sovereigns to join the Deep Roads expedition. This may require additional exploring and doing side quests to obtain. The 'Friends in Low Places' sidequest becomes available through a letter in Gamlen's house if you have completed 50% of the quests in Act I. If you come across this quest DO NOT accept Dougal’s loan because you will NOT get this achievement.

Story-related and unmissable.

STRATEGY:The four pillars in this room are the key to success here. The biggest ability in the Rock Wraith's arsenal, Arcane Blast can be completely avoided by using these pillars to get out of the wraith's line of sight. You can tell when the boss is ready to use this ability because he begins to suck in all the air in the room. As it is resistant to mostly all attacks, the best time to attack it is when it's core is exposed (he appears to be broken into pieces and his red core is showing). He will also summon Profane, but they are fairly weak and can be easily handled with area of effect abilities.

ACT II

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1551/-q+VTw==.jpg Exorcist 25 :gsicon:

Found and killed the undying Xebenkeck

[MISSABLE] Do this immediately upon returning from the Deep Roads Expedition at the start of Act II because it will be unaccessible later on. If you you spared Idunna’s life during the ‘Enemies Among Us’ quest, you will find the letter at the Writing Desk in your estate. If Idunna died, you must interact with the evil tome at the Chantry or Viscount Keep to start the quest. You must find a total of 5 evil tomes (2 in Kirkwall and 3 in the Free Marches), unless you started the quest via the latter option, then you only need to find four.

NOTE: When you interact with each tome, you MUST choose the option to destroy it.

Evil Tome Locations

(1) The Chantry - Upon entering head up the left stairs and it will be on a table to the left.

(2) Viscount’s Keep - In the back of the Keep that was previously locked during Act I. Can be found on a bench to the left of the large square room.

(3) Bone Pits – On the far east side of the Bone Pits, you will find an entrance to the "Cave".

(4) Wounded Coast – The entrance to the Dank Cave can be found by taking the right (western) path upon entering Wounded Coast. You want to take your third Southern path (first two are dead ends) and you will see the entrance.

http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/8830/dankcavefordemonslayer.png

(5) Sundermount This tome can be found in the Abandoned Thaig, which can be accessed by travelling to Sundermount. Once there, head past the Dalish camp and take the left path and you will see the "Recently Opened Passage". Head inside and follow to quest marker.

After destroying all five evil tomes, travel to Darktown and enter the Evil Pit, which is located to the left immediately upon entering Darktown. Make sure you have a rogue with you as you will need one to unlock a door. You need to progress through the lair to find the Fell Grimoire. Finalize your party and prepare for battle. Interact with the Fell Grimoire and read it for two attribute points. You will now fight Xebenkeck and his minions. Emerge victorious for the achievement.

Found and killed a varterral

[MISSABLE] In order to get this quest, you MUST complete the main story quest 'Blackpowder Courtesy' which can be picked up from the writing desk in your estate at the start of Act II. After competing this quest, go to Merrill's home and speak to her to begin her companion quest Mirror Image. NOTE: She must be in your active party in order for you to start this quest. Next, travel to Sundermount and talk to Keeper Marrethari to start ‘Honoring the Fallen’. Take the path to the far left of the Keeper to enter the Varterral Hunting Grounds, where you will eventually encounter the Varterral.

Earned the Arishok’s respect

[MISSABLE] You will need to gain the respect of the Arishok before the end of the ‘Demands of the Qun’ main quest. In order to gain maximum respect from the Arishok, always tell him the truth and pick the top right option (green leaf). You should also make the following key choices (quest names are indicated in red):

1. After completing the 'Blackpowder Courtesy' you will speak to Viscount Dumar, followed by Seneschal Bran in Viscount Keep. He will give you 'Offered and Lost'. Instead of setting out to complete this quest right away, travel to the Qunari Compound on the Docks and speak to the Arishok. Pick the dialogue option "Your delegate is missing" to earn a great amount of respect.

2. Offered and Lost: At Ser Varnel's Refuge, after you kill Varnel you will engage in conversation with Viscount Dumar. During this conversation select the dialogue option “Do not hide it. He’ll know”.

3. Demands of the Qun: After completing 'To Catch A Thief' you will visit the Arishok at the docks. During this cutscene about the relic, select the dialogue options "Isabela has it" and "Yes it is" and the achievement should unlock

Defeated the Arishok

[MISSABLE] NOTE: Doing this quest is the point of no return for Act II so make sure you complete anything else you would like to do before proceeding. During the quest ‘Demands of the Qun’, you will encounter two separate scenarios based on whether or not you completed the companion quest for Isabella:

- Completed 50% Companion Quest: Isabella will return and you have the option to hand her over to the Qunari or defend her. You MUST defend her in order to fight the Arishok. Choosing to hand her over without violence will cause you to miss the achievement.

- Uncompleted 50 % Companion Quest: With Isabella out of the picture, the Arishok will ask you how you want to resolve the conflict. Select “On the battlefield” for a one-on-one duel (toughest option). You can also choose to battle him with your party by selecting "By returning the book" followed by "When you put it that way". DO NOT choose "We can work this out" because the achievement will not unlock.

ACT III

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1551/-09t3A==.jpg Demon Slayer 25 :gsicon:

Found and killed the ancient demon, Hybris

[MISSABLE] The scrolls for this quest can only be collected in Act III. You must collect the three scrolls and complete the respective aspect quests:

Wounded Coast: If entering the Wounded Coast from the main entrance, head down the dead end to the South of the entrance to find the scroll. Return to the main path and continue south. The path eventually turns and begins running east to west. Continue along and take your second right. As you head down this branch, you will be attacked by multiple groups of Corpses and finally Medan. After killing Medan, the quest will be completed.

Sundermount #1: Found on the path leading from the Sundermount’s entrance to the Dalish elf camp. After collecting the scroll, pass through the Dalish camp and take the right at the fork by Keeper Marethari. As you proceed up the hillside, you will come to a campfire and be attacked by a large group of shades and an Arcane Horror. Defeat them to complete the quest.

Sundermount #2: Directly behind (North) this campfire where you were attacked is a wall. You will find the finally scroll behind this wall. Continue up the mountain and enter the cavern. Exit the cavern through the Mountain Graveyard exit and take a right to continue up the mountain. Pass the lootable graves and altar and you will be attacked bythe demons Gifre, Bysmor and Beacon. Defeating them will complete this final scroll quest.

After finding the three scrolls and completing their associated quests, you will unlock the journal entry for ‘Awiergan Scrolls: Pride Unbound’. You must now head to the Hidden Dungeon in Darktown. If you toggle labels, it is marked on the map as Hidden Lair. It can be found in the northeast part of town, south of Ander's clinic. If you are looking at the change party station outside of Ander's clinic, turn around and the entrance is the tilted ladder by the lantern.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1551/-YiBQQ==.jpgDragon Slayer 25 :gsicon:

Found and killed a high dragon

[MISSABLE] The quest to slay the High Dragon, entitled ‘Mine Massacre’, can be started in Act III in two different locations depending on what quests you have completed. If you previously completed the ‘Bone Pit’ and ‘Inside Job’ quests, travel to the Hightown market and speak to Hubert. If you haven’t completed the above quests, travel to the Bone Pit to automatically start the quest.

Preperation: Healing - Although you should always be carrying plenty of potions due to their abundance, I am going to stress the importance of healing on this fight. Make sure Anders (spirit healing mage) is in your party as well, unless you are playing as a healing mage. Party Make-Up – On top of the spirit healer, you will need a traditional tank to hold the High Dragon’s attention as he outputs serious melee damage. A mage with talents in Arcane or Elemental will provide much needed damage output. Equipment - cold weapon enchantments and fire resistance runes will be beneficial

Stage #1: Tank N’ Spank The dragon will remain on the ground in this stage and can easily be tanked by a warrior specialized for it. Spread the rest of your party out to avoid the tail and any frontal attacks.

Stage #2: Dragonlings – The dragon will take to the air and sit on a perch above the battlefield. Dragonlings will begin to attack as the High Dragon rains down fireballs at your party. Keep everyone spread out again as the fireballs do AoE damage when they hit the ground. Keep 2 of your party members (preferably the tank and rogue) on dragonling duty while your caster’s bombard the dragon.

Once the dragonlings are defeated, the High Dragon lands and the cycle begins again. Repeat the above strategy until you emerge victorious and the achievement is yours.

Became the Viscount of Kirkwall

NOTE: Do any secondary quests, companion quests or any other unfinished business in ACT III before starting The Last Straw as there is no turning back after getting into it. I would also recommend saving the game before doing this as well, so you can reload your save if you miss any achievements.

During The Last Straw quest at the end of Act III, you will find Orsino and Meredith in a heated debate. When given the option to choose sides while in Lowtown, you MUST side with the Templars. This achievement will unlock after completing this quest.

This will obviously take multiple playthroughs to complete and will be the very last achievement you should get. It won’t take very long to get to Kirkwall so it isn’t too much of an inconvenience. After your full playthrough, select one of the remaining two classes and reach Kirkwall (Play through to your arrival at the gates of the Gallows with all the refugees). Do this again with the remaining class to unlock the achievement.

Earned the friendship or rivalry of four party members

In order to get both the Rival and Friend achievements, make one companion a rival or friend, and then make four others the opposite. This achievement requires you to earn four friendships or 4 rivalries with your party members. NOTE: You can’t mix and match friendships and rivalries. You must have four of either or. General tips can be found below:

- Companion Quests: Doing companion quests will be the majority of what factors in to your relationship with your companions.

- Conversation: Take in to consideration their personalities when you speak with them. How you speak about party members not currently in your party still effects how they think of you.

- Actions: When taking your party members on missions with you, you must consider how they will react to the decisions you make.

Click HERE to see how your decisions in every companion quest affects your relationships.

Flirted with one of your party members to begin a romance.

This achievement isn't possible to obtain until after you do your companions first major companion quest in Act II. Whenever you are given the "Heart" dialogue option, make sure to select it. Do the party members companion quest, travel to your estate at night with them in your party, and then flirt with them and you should get this easily. See Romantic.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1551/5-3gjC0=.jpg Romantic 25 :gsicon:

Completed a romance with one of your party members

General Tips:

- ALL companions will romance with male or female Hawke, except Sebastian. Also unable to romance Varric as either male or female Hawke

- Visit your estate at night to increase your chances of flirting with them.

- Enquire about living together when given the option to do so

- Romance one party member at a time to increase your chances of success

- Romances can only be had at maximum rivalry or friendship AFTER doing the respective 100% companion quest.

- Give them their specific gifts & and get their armor upgrades to aid in this.

GENERAL PROCESS: While this process doesn't hold true for all companions, it is the basic outline for most of them. Achieve 50% friendship or rivalry, flirt with your companion before doing their mid-stage companion quest, visit your estate at night, flirt with them again and invite them to move in. Reach 100% rivalry or friendship. See Post #8 of my companion guide HERE for the specific steps for each character. Final step: Visit them in the Gallows Prison in Act III.

Upgraded the armor of one of your party members.

The easiest and earliest way to accomplish this is during the 'Birthright' companion quest that you are able to do with either Bethany or Carver. In order to start this quest, you must speak to your mother and then surviving sibling in Gamlen's Home after the 'A New Home' quest. When you arrive at your ancestral mansion, you will find the Fereldan Girded Painting (Carver) or the Heirloom Amell Protective Sigil (Bethany) and upon picking it up you will get this.

Completely upgraded the armor of one of your party members

This achievement requires you to get all of the armor upgrades for a single companion. Bethany or Carver DO NOT count towards this achievement because they only have one armor upgrade.

Armor upgrade locations can be found HERE under the appropriate section.

Gave a gift to one of your party members

Simply give a gift to one of your party members. The easiest and earliest way to accomplish this is during the 'Birthright' companion quest that you are able to do with either Bethany or Carver. In order to start this quest, you must speak to your mother and then surviving sibling in Gamlen's Home after the 'A New Home' quest. After entering the Vault, search all of the chests and you will find Tobrius's Documents (Carver) or a Portrait of Your Mother (Bethany), which can be given to them when you return to Gamlen's Home.

All other gift locations can be found HERE under the appropriate section.

Crafting Achievements

Acquired your first crafting recipe

Story-related and unmissable. Lady Elegant gives you the recipe for the Elfroot Potion when you first enter the Lowtown, without the need to do anything else.

Crafted all of the items from a single crafting tree

[MISSABLE] Find all available recipes for one of the three crafting trees (Potions, Runes and Poisons & Bombs). You must then craft each item in that tree for the achievement to unlock. It is easiest to find the recipes for the Potions tree as there are only 6 required recipes. Conversely, there are 9 posion & bomb recipes and 20 rune recipes. I have listed the recipe locations for the Potion tree. This is missable as certain recipes are only available during certain Acts. NOTE: The recipe in the Black Emporium is not necessary for the achievement.

BLACK EMPORIUM DLC

Elixir of Purity: Not required for the achievement.

ACT I

Elfroot Potion: Given to you by Lady Elegant upon venturing into the Lowtown for the first time.

Restoration Potion: You must complete the Formari Herbalist Gift Shop Quest in Act I and buy this from the shop.

ACT II

Life Ward Potion: You must complete the second Formari Herbalist Gift Shop Quest in Act II and buy this from the shop.

Mighty Offense Potion: This recipe can be found in Sundermount. From the entrance, head past the Dalish camp and take the right path at the fork up the mountain. Go through the cave and take the Mountain Graveyard Exit. When you get back outside, go to the right and you will find the recipe in a bone pile.

Rock Armor Potion: Can be found in Lowtown during the night only. Go to Gamlen's House and this can be found in a rubble pile to the left.

Elixir of Heroism: During the Demanding the Qun quest, as you are fighting your way through Hightown, you will come to an area with a lady in a green dress standing over a body dressed in purpleish clothing. If you look to your right, you will see a lootable corpse. The recipe can be found on this body. NOTE: This recipe requires Ambrosia which can only be obtained in Isabela's Act III companion quest if you didn't turn her over to the Arishok.

Found every variety of crafting resources

There are a total of 12 crafting ingredients. For this achievement you will need to collect EVERY ingredient in the game world during each Act (total of 66 ingredients). NOTE: If you miss any ingredient in the game world, check the Black Emporium during the next Act to see if you can purchase it. Your current inventory of ingredients can be found at any potion, rune, or poison & bomb "store" or your estate (Gamlen's House in Act I and Hawke's Estate in Act II and III).

IMPORTANT: Before doing the Demands of the Qun quest, make sure Isabella is at least 50% friendship/rivalry, you have done her Act I and II companion quests & her 50% companion quest entitled Questioning Beliefs. DO NOT choose to hand her over to the Arishok or Ambrosia will be unobtainable.

ACT I: 3 Deathroot, 5 Deep Mushroom, 6 Elfroot, 1 Embrium, 1 Glitterdust, 5 Lyrium, 1 Orichalcum, 4 Silverite, 3 Spindleweed

ACT II: 2 Deathroot, 3 Deep Mushroom, 2 Elfroot, 4 Embrium, 4 Glitterdust, 3 Lyrium, 4 Orichalcum, 2 Silverite, 2 Spindleweed

ACT III: 1 Ambrosia, 1 Deathroot, 1 Deep Mushroom, 1 Dragon's Blood, 1 Elfroot, 1 Embrium, 1 Felandaris, 1 Glitterdust, 1 Lyrium, 1 Orichalcum, 1 Spindleweed

Enchanted an item

Runes are separated into two categories: weapon runes and armor runes. Your first opportunity to begin crafting runes comes when you meet a vendor upon your arrival to Kirkwall. These runes will require particular ingredients in order to be crafted. Once you have the rune in your possession, you must find an Enchanter! (See what I did there?) The enchanter can be found in Hightown during Act I, the Deep Roads during the Expedition and your estate from Act II onwards.

Although not needed to obtain this achievement, there is a glitch that can be used to obtain experience and money very quickly. This glitch can be performed using any side-quest that doesn’t involve a cutscene to turn in. Save your game before talking to the NPC required to complete the quest. Draw your weapon with :abut: and as you are putting your weapon away talk to the NPC. Continue spamming :abut: to earn continous amounts of XP and money. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1551/5-8UWaw=.jpg Specialized 25 :gsicon:

Learned two class specializations

Specializations grant you access to additional talent trees that you are able to spend your talent points. You will earn class specializations at levels 7 and 14. There are a total of 3 specializations for each class and they unlock their own special abilities. Unlike in Dragon Age: Origins, there are no specializations for your companion characters. Also, you DO NOT need to learn these specializations from specific sources as they are simply given to you. In order for the achievement to unlock, you will need to place at least one talent point in to two of these specializations. A detailed description of each talent tree and what each ability does can be found HERE.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1551/-6mI9A==.jpgTalented 5 :gsicon:

Upgraded a spell or talent

In your character’s talent window, where you will allocate your talent points, you will notice that the large diamonds represent new abilities that your class can learn. Next to some of these new talents and spells, you will find smaller diamonds which indicate certain upgrades to these abilities. These upgrades will have level requirements, but simply select one of the eligible upgrades and the achievement will unlock.

Used teamwork to perform a cross-class combo

These combo attacks only require two of the three classes. Certain abilities will set your target up for a combo from the other two classes. These become much easier to perform at higher levels due to a wider range of abilities being available. You will need to perform abilities that stagger, disorient or make the enemy brittle with one character, and then perform an ability on this target with another party member of a different class. The radial wheel is your friend here. Select the ability of the initiating class to stagger, disorient or make brittle. Then change party members and using the radial wheel again, perform the combo ability. It is easy to unlock this without even knowing the specific combos. For the full list of combos, click HERE.

Mastered a weapon style

Simply obtain all talents (with respective upgrades) in one of the weapon-specific talent trees. The talent trees that count towards this achievement are Weapon & Shield, Two-Handed Weapon, Dual-Weapon and Archery. If you are playing as a mage, no need to worry. Upgrading any of your companion's weapon talent trees fully will earn you this as well.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1551/-tCJqA==.jpgUnstoppable 50 :gsicon:

Completed a full year in Kirkwall without any party member being knocked unconscious.

Simply complete Act I or II of the story without any party member being knocked unconscious (they are knocked out when their HP bar is fully depeleted). If one of your party members is knocked out, simply reload your last save and you can still get this achievement. It doesn't matter how many times you get knocked out, reloading your last save will always work.

NOTE: This achievement appears to not work for some people attempting it during Act III so do it during Act I or II.

Misc. Achievements

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1551/5-tWSsY=.jpgMogul 25 :gsicon:

Had 100 or more sovereigns in your purse.

Sovereign is another name for gold. If you are doing all of the secondary quests and fully exploring you will be able to obtain this before giving the money to fund the Deep Roads Expedition. The money and experience glitch found under the Legendary description can also be done here. It can just as easily be saved until later in the game when you get better equipment to sell.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1551/5-5eYew=.jpgChantry Historian 25 :gsicon:

Found all four chapters of “The History of the Chantry,” by Brother Genitivi

[MISSABLE] Chapters 1, 2 & 4 can be found by visiting the Chantry during each Act. I recommend that you make visiting the Chantry your priority upon starting each Act so that you do not forget to do this.

NOTE: Chapter 3 is missable and is only available during the quest Following the Qun during Act II. After travelling to the Chantry at night, you will encounter a cutscene where you discover Saemus' fate. Immediately after the cutscene ends, use your targetting wheel by pressing :ltbut: to pause combat. The book will be on the podium overlooking the ground level of the Chantry. Select it with the targetting wheel to pick it up. You may also be able to grab it in between breaks in the combat if you missed it the first time, but it will be more difficult. If you are unable to pick it up before the cutscene begins, simply reload your last autosave and try again.

Opened 50 chests

This is another easily obtainable achievement that you should have no trouble getting. Rubble piles, containers and chests found throughout the game world contribute to this. The chests dropped from your slain enemies also counts towards this. It helps to always have a rogue in your party so that you can pick all the locked chests you come across, but it definately isn't necessary.

During each year in Kirkwall, discovered 3 secret message from the Band of Three

The achievement requires that you find three special codex in each Act for a total of 9. They will all appear in your journal, under the Enigma of Kirkwall entry in the Lore section. Check this to see how many you have discovered. Click HERE for a picture guide to the locations of these.

* - Indicates messages that are only available through secondary quests.

ACT I

1. Lowtown (Night) - You can find the Elven Alienage in the northeastern most point of the map. In it is in the back corner, behind the big tree, located directly behind the sewer grate.

2. The Gallows - When you return to the Gallows for ‘The Wayward Son’ quest, look to the very North, in a pile of bricks before a gate.

3. The Bone Pit * - In order to gain access to the Bone Pit during Act I, you must complete your 'Birthright'. After the main story quest 'A New Home' speak to your mother in Gamlen's Home, then speak to your sibling in order to get this quest. After completing it, you will find 'Bone Pit' as a letter on your desk. Once in the Bone Pit, travel to the Southeast dead end and you will see it before the broken train tracks.

4. Viscount's Keep - This Enigma will not physically appear in your game world, but it DOES exist. After entering Viscount's Keep, head up the left stairs and into the next room. You will see two Guards in front of one door and to the left of them stands Seneschal Bran. Enter through the open door to his left, and on the right wall you will see two pictures seperated by a red vase. The enigma will be in the bottom corner of the right picture. Simply go to the area and spam :abut: to pick it up.

http://img190.imageshack.us/img190/2527/activiscountkeeppic.png

ACT II

1. Chantry - Head up the right most stairs to the top level and the book will be to the right on top of the table in front of the fireplace. The same location where History of the Chantry was in Act I.

2. Darktown - Head up the first set of stairs and then take the next set of stairs on your right. Continue towards the "Leave Area" icon on your mini-map and you will see it straight ahead (Leave Area is on your right).

3. Docks - Upon entering the docks, head up the stairs to the left by the change party station to enter the Qunari Compound. After passing through the gates head up the left side of the stairs to find it.

4. Gallows Dungeon * - This dungeon can only be accessed during Anders' Dissent companion quest. Like all Act II companion quests, you must complete 'Blackpowder Courtesy'first. Then visit Anders' clinic with him in your party to start Dissent. Once in the Gallow's Dungeon, progress until you encounter a cutscene with a group of Templars harassing a mage. After it is over, continue up the stairs. The exit door back to Darktown will be in front of you. Instead of leaving, go to the right and down the northern dead end (the one that looks like a rabbit head on your mini-map) to get this.

ACT III

All of these are found during the quests listed in red,

1. Justice - You must complete Anders' Act I and II companion quests in order to get this. After starting the quest travel through Darktown to the Sewers. Once you enter, travel to the southern most room, where one of the waypoint markers is located. Before going up the stairs to collect one of the Sela Petrae deposits, look in the small alcove to the left to find this.

2.On The Loose - After entering the Templar Hall, go into the hallway where the waypoint marker is (it will be the only door you can go through from the main area). Continue down the hallway and enter the second door on your right (the one after the waypoint marker). If you turn around and face the door you came through, the enigma is in the torch to the right of the door.

3. Gamlen’s Greatest Treasure - Travel to Lowtown and then to Gamlen's House and pick up the crumpled note on the table in front of him. Then speak to Gamlen to get this quest. During the quest you will be asked to head to Smetty's Fish Guttery at the Docks (Night). Once you are inside the Fish Guttery, head to the left and down the ramp to find this in a pile of rubble between the two boats.

4. The Last Straw - Located on the docks during this quest. NOTE: Do everything you want to do in Act III before this quest as there is no turning back once you get into it. After your decision to side with the mages or templars in Lowtown, you will enter the docks. Go down the stairs and you will see corpses on the ground and a giant statue holding a torch. After fighting a bunch of shades and a Pride demon, look by the red boxes to the right of the statue to find this.

- Estimated achievement difficulty: 4/10

- Offline: 5 (130 :gsicon:)

- Online: 0 (0 :gsicon:)

Introduction:

Dragon Age II: The Exiled Prince adds a new companion character, the archer Sebastian Vael, and his own series of side quests. Follow him as he seeks revenge for the brutal murder of his family. This DLC pack comes free with the Signature Edition of the game. Otherwise, it will cost you 560 Microsoft Points ($7). This first DLC adds 5 achievements with 130:gsicon:

Breakdown:

‘The Exiled Prince’ DLC is added to the main game and must be started during Act I or II. There are 3 achievements for completing each of his major companion quests, 1 for gaining 100% rivalry or friendship, and 1 for finding Sebastian's gift and doing the associated quest. You must start his first companion quest during Act I or II.

Retribution: Complete the 'Duty' companion quest during Act I or II.

Avenged: Complete the 'Repentance' companion quest during Act II.

Momento: Find the gift for Sebastian during the 'Repentance' quest. See guide for location.

Cloak and Dagger: Complete the 'Faith' companion quest during Act III.

Conclusion:

This DLC is a nice addition to the game and if you want to enjoy it fully I recommend picking it up. At the price of $7, you really can't go wrong. It adds three good sized quests and gives you a new companion that has great utility in your party with his devastating ranged abilities. It is also an easy 130 :gsicon: when Bioware actually gets the achievements working.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1551/5-ppaNQ=.jpg Retribution 25 :gsicon:

Dealt with the mercenaries that killed the Vael family

This achievement unlocks for completing the first companion quest for Sebastian entitled 'Duty'. Upon first venturing near the Chantry, a cutscene will begin introducing you to Sebastian. After it ends approach the Chanter's Board to pick up this quest. After completing the quest objective, return to the Chantry and speak with Sebastian to unlock this achievement.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1551/5-4re74=.jpg Avenged 25 :gsicon:

Confronted the culprit behind the Vael family’s murder

You must complete Sebastian's first companion quest to gain access to his second companion quest, 'Repentance'. It will be available from the start of Act II. Handing this quest in will net you this achievement. NOTE: Sebastian's gift for Memento can be found during this quest in the Harimann Estate and a glitch to gain 100% rivalry quickly for Loyalty of the Prince can be done at the end of the quest. See the specific achievements for details.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1551/5-momfI=.jpg Memento 25 :gsicon:

Gave Sebastian a family heirloom

Sebastian's gift can be found during his 'Repentance' companion quest. You will travel to Harimann Estate. Progress through the mansion until the cutscene. When the cutscene ends, a waypoint marker will appear on your map. The gift can be found on a corpse in the wine cellar in the room with the exit into the dungeon. Speaking to Sebastian and doing the gift dialogue will unlock this achievement.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1551/5-hIYWE=.jpg Loyalty of the Prince 30 :gsicon:

Earned either a friendship or rivalry with Sebastian

A glitch exists where you can gain 100% rivalry and this achievement very quickly at the end of the 'Repentance' quest. At the end of the quest, return to the Chantry, but DO NOT speak with Sebastian to end the quest. Instead, speak to High Cleric Elthina standing next to him. Pick the dialogue option "You're useless." to gain +5 rivalry points with Sebastian and Aveline. You can speak to her again and get +5 rivalry points as many times as you would like. Keep doing this until the achievement pops.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1551/5-uJkEc=.jpg Cloak and Dagger 25 :gsicon:

Met secretly with the agent of the Divine

You must complete his final companion quest 'Faith' during Act III, after completing his Act I and II companion quests, in order to unlock this.

LEGACY DLC

Cost: 800 MSP ($10) Achievements: 5

http://www.geeky-gadgets.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Dragon-Age-2-Legacy-DLC.jpg

Overview/Roadmap:

- Estimated achievement difficulty: 2/10

- Offline: 5 (120 :gsicon:)

- Online: 0 (0 :gsicon: )

- Approximate time: 3-4 Hours

- Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 1

- Missable achievements: 2 (Tower Sweeper, Family Outing)

- Does difficulty affect Achievements? No

- Unobtainable/glitched achievements: None

Introduction:

In Dragon Age II: The Legacy DLC Hawke finds himself fighting a new evil in the Vimmark mountains. This DLC promises new locations and dungeons (not the same one retextured!), different and more powerful enemies and many new items and quests.

Breakdown:

The ‘Legacy’ DLC can be started at any point during the regular game, including after you have completed the main story. However, if you want to get all of the achievements, you MUST use a save file that has Bethany or Carver alive. There are five achievements, two of which are missable and 3 which you will get just by playing. They are listed in the guide in the order they are obtained.

Conclusion:

Although this DLC costs more than ‘The Exiled Prince’ at $10, it does offer a great deal of content. There are no gameplay improvements and it is more of the same game, so if you didn't enjoy the retail game you should stay clear. It is however an easy 120 :gsicon: bringing the game to an even 1250 :gsicon: Who wants to stare at 1130?

Deep Roads Safari 15 :gsicon:

Kill a genlock, genlock alpha, hurlock alpha, bronto, and deepstalker in the Vimmark Mountains.

Tower Sweeper 30 :gsicon:

Complete every side quest in the Vimmark Mountains prison tower.

This achievement is missable. However, there are only three side quests that you will need to complete inside the prison. If you are fully exploring, you will have no problem finding these quests.

(1) Malcolm’s Will: Started on the Sashamiri Floor (starting level), this quest involves killing three demons that are located behind barriers. In order to open the barriers, activate the two glowing red dots on wall in the surrounding area, followed by interacting with the barrier itself.

(2) Altar of Dumat: Started on Farele’s Floor, you must pick up a book located on an altar to start the quest. After finding, other various ritual items, you must make your way to the altar. I only found two of the four items and destroyed the altar, but still got credit for completing the quest.

(3) The Paragon’s Heir: Started in the Tower Base upon picking up the first Legionnaire page. You must find the other two pages and Themar’s corpse to complete this quest and the achievement will pop.

Family Legacy 30 :gsicon:

Apply three effects to Hawke's Key.

This achievement is story-related and not missable. You should receive it at the end of the Tower Base portion of the prison.

This achievement is story-related and not missable. You will receive it upon defeating the final boss.

Family Outing 15 :gsicon:

Complete the main quest in the Vimmark Mountains with Bethany or Carver in the party.

Load up a save that has Carver or Bethany still alive. This can be a post-game save in which one of the siblings survived or a pre Deep Roads expedition save if both siblings are dead. After defeating the final boss, talk to Larius to finish the quest and watch the cut scenes for the achievement.

Been looking forward to this. Very nice. Now I have to get around to figuring out rogue or mage for my 2nd playthrough/collectables playthrough. Never realize Fenris was so useful, was the ally I never used in my 1st playthrough. The elf girl though gets best controller of the year award though.

EDIT TIPS

You mentioned something about Hawke fighting the blight in the intro paragraph. ...I dont it kind of leaves a weird taste in your mouth because from my 1st completion of the game Hawke really didnt deal with the blight so much.

Also with Crowning Glory does that unlock at the end of the story? From the way you have it mentioned it unlocks just after you make the templar decision.

For Romantic you mention "ALL companions", but far as I've seen you can't romance the dwarf, Varric.

During each year in Kirkwall, discovered 3 secret message from the Band of Three

The achievement requires that you find three special codex in each Act for a total of 9. There are four in each Act, so you can only miss one. NOTE: At the time of writing this guide, I am pretty sure the location of these in each area is random (other than ones appearing during quests). If I discover otherwise, I will add specific locations.

ACT I

1. The Bone Pit

2. The Gallows

3. Viscount’s Keep

4. Lowtown (Only at night)

ACT 2

1. Chantry

2. Darktown

3. Gallows Dungeon during ‘Dissent’ quest

4. Docks of the Qunari Compound

ACT 3 (all found during quests)

1. ‘Justice’

2. ‘Justice’

3. ‘Gamlen’s Greatest Treasure’

4. ‘Last Straw’ on the docks

Little confused about these how do I see what ones I have what are they called you could add that in the post also where is the one in viscounts keep and lowtown in the night?

What are the names though I just found my first one in lowtown nighttime called "The enigma of Kirkwall" what are the other ones called?
I've found 3 of them so far and they all were called "The Enigma of Kirkwall" Be sure to check the entry in your journal as they stack up. You might have picked one up without noticing.

Mine says

--A tattered letter found under a cobblestone. It has curious markings and is signed, "The Band of Three"

--Underneath a pile of small boulders carved with curious markings and signed, "The Band of Three"

--Underneath a cobblestone with curious markings, faintly glowing. It is signed, "The Band of Three"

I don't remember where I got them :/

How do I know that I found one?
If youre talking about the messages from The Band of Three then it would be in your journal. I can only speak for Act I because that's all I've gotten so far but its under Lore --> The Enigma of Kirkwall. And then just scroll through the entry and you'll see it signed "The Band of Three"
