Well, at least easy 1000 G!

Anyway, this game is a little bit "rusty" and "obscure", it doesn't tell you what to do, but imho is really addictive and I've played w/ strangers, 0 friends... I think this game should be played with friends both in coop and versus mode.

The A.I. is broken, yeah, but the more you level up the more the A.I. is challenging (the friendly A.I.... well... become more and more "smart", i guess...)

Well, I'm glad I've bought this game, I think Splash Damage will listen to the community and work around the clock to make this game better and better.

I can not wait to play DLCs.

For me the only think to complain about is the absence of dedicated servers: what a pity!

Ok so I share many of the same complaints that everybody else has had about this game. However it feels like these problems only occurred for me in the Security campaign. I flew through the Resistance campaign with no problems on the normal difficulty and had no moment of frustration. Then when I played the Security campaign I threw my controller at the wall a few times, screamed obscenities, and almost broke the disc I rented. I really enjoyed the game up until this point. I couldn't even finish the what-if part of the Security campaign, because of how bad the AI was. Like I would be sitting there doing my part of the objective for the 9 minutes of the 10 minutes that I had to hold it and every damn time the last 30 seconds they would get passed it. Then I would wait another 9 minutes and it would happen again until I lost the match. EVERY time I replayed this it happened the same way. Its like my team gave up the last minute. Ugh...

Enjoyed the game up until that point.

I really want to rant about this game but I'll keep it short.

I bought it today after trading some old stuff in and gave up playing after 10 minutes. I usually have a high tolerance but this was as disappointing as Homefront and I really REALLY wish I hadn't wasted my time on it. The character customisation was a big thing for me and it was beyond lame. Gameplay is poor and the whole thing was NOT worth that bloody wait and hype!

To everyone complaining about Bethesda;

Bethesda only published the game, they did NOT develop it. You hate Splash Damage, not Bethesda.

My issues with the game are the in-game lag, even with just me and a friend playing, and the seemingly overpowered AI. Because these seem to me the only actual technical issues with the game.

Everyone complains about dying a lot, but this isn't Halo or COD, you're k/d ratio means NOTHING. If you run into this game thinking you won't die, or worry about dying, you're playing it wrong, and I recommend you just sell the game.

If you get into a game with a few people who know what they're doing, the game can easily become a LOT of fun. If your team consists mostly of AI, its a lot less fun, but not unplayable.

Brink is the worst game ive played in 2011

Ive played trough the game offline mostly, so the little i have played online wasnt much different except it was laggy and the teams were filled with bots anyway.

This game has fuck all for lasting appeal, its not addictive (MW2 is addictive) mainly its just a grind for 1k with stupid fucking bots.

Rushing the same objective only to get camped by bots over and over, if you fail retry the mission until it goes right.

This game is just so fucking awful its making me sad, 2 achievements left then i will never look back at this fucking pos

Worst game I have ever played. Single player is insanely hard even on easy, I can hardly finish the last couple of missions. I've been trying all day to do multiplayer but I have NOT ONCE even seen another player online; every time I try I just just get dumped in a match full of bots so it's just another single player match.

Glad i only rented it but I wish i never even put the disk in my Xbox.

I don't think I've ever seen such unanimous hatred of a game, I just don't get it. The game isnt great no, but as bad as people say it is? Surely not.

I don't know if people had high expectations of the game but for me I came in with none and found it a fresh and new experience. This is surely a marmite game, if you enjoy the game it can be a massively entertaining experience but if you hate it it'' be one frustrating ride.

Maybe Splash Damage went about generating hype for the game wrongly and gave many people the wrong impression but if anyone thinking of buying this game reads this thread they'll surely be put off and I think that's wrong. Rent it first to see if it's ur bag then think about a purchase. Damn this game needs a demo...

stupid stupid dumb dumb idiotic idiotic friendly AI ever. For once at least give us friendly AI that is as smart as the enemy AI, but no, every games like these tends to be stupid friendlies and excessively brainy enemies that shoots and kill you with a shotgun thats 20 feet away from you.

They will think it's a challenge, I think it's bull-fucking shit and blatantly lazy as that big fucking pokemon that blocks your shit up. I'd rather chew my face off rather than spending another hour of this game.

Oh by all means people should rent it and form their opinion, but it seems like odds are good that they will not like this game. I wouldn't say this is the worst game of 2011 for me, but I would say its the worse major release thus far.

Oh and talk about artificial length for the campaign. I'm cool with not having checkpoints, but if your bots decide to stop defending an objective as soon as they see the countdown timer hit 1 - 2 minutes you can eff right off.

will someone please explain to me what I'm doing wrong? I can't figure out what to do. The yellow case I'm supposed to protect while enemies keep spawning and killing my team. What do you do just run around it for 15 minutes???

If the objective is to stop the case from being delivered somewhere, then yes, you just kill enemies until the timer runs out. If the objective is to deliver it, then you have to look for another yellow outline of the delivery point (as long as you have that as your active objective in the wheel).

I bought this game last night as it was priced up wrongly (pretty much half price), and started on it this morning...

Your AI partners for the Challenges are frigging stupid - I got downed on some stairs and instead of giving me the syringe the 2 medics just kept free-running across the stairs back and forth, both of them just jumping around!

I've got 3 stars on all 3 challenges, and the hardest is definitely Be More Objective, especially since your team do almost nothing, and the enemy AI doesn't miss, not to mention being a MUCH higher level so they can throw all sorts of stuff at you

If the Campaign AI team-mates are as dumb as the Challenge ones, then it looks like it's almost going to be "you do the work and your partners are cannon fodder", which will probably put me off of the game...

If I can't get on with it by the end of today, it'll be traded in over the weekend - I won't put up with a game that is shockingly bad, and this one clearly went through very little testing - there are FAR too many glitches that I've found in a couple of hours that employed testers should have found REALLY quickly.

I was looking forward to this game when I first saw it's videos, but the reality is that it's a shoddy piece of rushed work that had more potential than the company could provide.

EDIT: I've played through the complete campaign now (including the What-If ones), and I have to say that by far the WORST thing about this game is the respawn timer - because it works in "waves" you can be sitting there for nearly 20-30 seconds waiting for your respawn, and if you're "lucky" enough to have human medics in your party, they'll completely ignore you and carry on shooting the enemy, only being a medic so they can heal themselves. :-P

After playing through all of the Challenges and the Campaign, it's not a horrible game, just an OK game with quite a few flaws... a good idea averagely executed.

So I did all 1 star an 2 star challenges and thought I'd give 3 stars a go. After numerous deaths I did my first 3 star challenge an no achievement. Did TD next 3 stars no achievement so I moved onto escort. Halfway through achievement unlocked.

Then I thought I'd finish my resistance campaign. Did it an got all the related achievements PLUS the achievement to complete both campaigns. Bearing in mind I haven't actually done a single security mission.

Pretty disappointing game so far.

The main problem is that the ally AI is totally unhelpful, making even the easier settings surprisingly tough in solo mode when your teammates just refuse to tackle the primary objectives with you. (Even this wouldn't be such a pain if you were able to restart missions from save points in the levels, rather than having to redo the entire thing.)

Online, the lag problems are supposed to have been fixed, but I'm still getting them, as are other people on this forum. The number of players online is dropping pretty quickly, too, and the game's only a few months old.

Just a tough game to recommend at this point, unless you've got several nearby friends playing reliably.

If I hear your team's taking a command post one more time, I might be forced to strangle a small animal.

I've been playing this game for 2 days now and here are a few things I notice. For one, no one plays online anymore. It was the weekend and I think the maximum number of human users was 4 total in one game, which includes both teams. Second, the AI are so unhelpful and when you can't find anyone online to play, the game is just a frustrating headache.

However, it does have potential. Eliminate the need for AI to take on secondary objectives and boom! The game gets a hell of a lot better. Also, only 8 objective games (of which you can choose either side) is a little low.

Here's to hoping the DLC brings more players back to the online community.

i guess that means then that if people like us are still gonna play, ten we might aswell team up as im finding it hard to find human players in a team, i only bought it yesterday and ivv played with like 4 humans in about 10 hours. so if anyone wants to team up for campaign and challenges im all for it! :)
