For All of You Complaining About the Challenges...Read This!

I noticed a lot of people have been having issues completing some of the challenges. And by completing some of them, I mean the pain-in-the-ass "Be More Objective". Yes, they get harder as you progress through the tiers but I found out how to make them hassle-free.

From the main menu...follow this:

1. Campaign

2. Click on ANY mission

3. Set difficulty to EASY

4. Back out to the main menu

5. Play desired challenge...Voila!

This is a little bug in the game I found out after about and hour and a half of pure frustration and angst towards the developers. I was playing the second tier of the first challenge on hard because I was playing the campaign on hard. However, I was not aware that I was playing on hard because there is no difficulty selector for challenges. Very sneaky Splash Damage, very sneaky. It quickly led to me asking the question on how this "challenge" even got into the game. Let me tell you, if you beat this damned thing on hard then upload and post a video here because I had my shit down to a science and still couldn't get past the Operative part. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE! Hang on, let me rephrase that. "BE MORE OBJECTIVE" ON HARD IS COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY ABSURD. Period.

Anyways, I hope this helps for anyone who is struggling to get those pesky weapon attachments. Thanks for your time.

I am still having trouble due to the lack of AI help at times...its like they dont even help you kill anything even why you setup the challenges like this. Having the worst time getting through the hack step of Be More Objective ** (2 star mission). I found it a little easier to get to this point but struggle once I hit this part...cant even imagine what they make you do for the 3 star! Thanks again for the tip as well though! Great find! Seems like this made the enemy AI a little easier to get through but any other tips, like what kind of setup you used for your character on the objective level before running through this? :)

I didn't change any weapons from default, I don't think you can. My loadout for campaign is a medium with an assault rifle primary w/ the ACOG scope equivalent and the "Barrett" sniper with the long range scope as secondary. When I launch challenges it resets me to an assault rifle with iron sights and a Vector looking smg.

I went about it this way - start level, use one of your reload skill points to max your ammo out. Sprint out to the first corner and let your ai fodder get ahead. When enemies show up, you can sit in cover behind a tall box on the left and lean out to the right to pick off hostiles with headshots while they shoot your ai fodder. *make certain* that once you down a hostile, put some rounds into them until they stop moving, or they'll be back up and shooting you in a few seconds. Run up, plant while they're respawning, move back to the box for cover to defend the charge. Use your frags and molotovs as much as possible since you'll be switching to engineer in a moment anyway. Kill all the bots again after you switch, then bolt to the repair spot and work on it, it may take 2 lives but your progress stays, just wait for medic instead of respawning. Once complete, headshot the bots again (seeing a pattern yet? :) ), bolt back to the console and change to operative, hide behind your cannon fodder and continue your headshot kills, then head up the stairs ahead and to your left, crouch and defend until your guys get there, stick with headshots through this whole deal. Once you wipe out the bots, plant the hack. One key point is that you CAN move a fair distance away and still hack, it just slows down but still gets done. Simply sit in cover and pop heads while your AI dudes soak up fire. Again, I'm saying you have to focus on headshots, or the enemy bots will waste your bots since the enemies have superior ai. Once you finish the hack, grab the box and haul ass for the objective. Enjoy your new smg, it's quite nice!

If you continue to have problems, I'll see if I can do a video walkthrough later on. I just updated my laptop and server to windows 7 ultimate and haven't totally figured it out yet, and I need to find drivers for my capture cards...it's something I need to do anyway, so I'm planning to do it asap anyway. I'm going to subscribe to this thread so I see your post in my email if you need a video, or you can pm me here and it'll pop up as an email on my phone, either way I'll see your post and see what I can do. Good luck with it in the meantime!

Cheers!

I didn't find the 3-star challenges that hard the only one I had problem with was the last one and that's do to the fact that I was using the medium class, So I switched it over to heavy lay down mines and the turrent and I ran around the whole map instead of sitting in one spot where u get nades thrown at u like cod

is it at all possible to create a character for each challenge or do u have to complete all challenges with 1 character to get the achievement? Using the Op's easy method with a new character seems to help alot. It seems the lower your rank is the easier the enemy A.I. is to handle.

Ya I def. think it's based on your rank. I also wonder if you can use a new character for each challenge?

I don't see why they have made the AI more difficult dependent on player rank. I say rank and not skill simply because any joe can rank up.

Therefor it's getting harder but the player isn't any better at the game. Let's face it, the perks/abilities you get for ranking up are good, But most are useless.

I'm looking at you "silent running". This isn't cod.

Okay, another update to this thread because some people seem to be having a hard time beating these.

I don't have a capture card or anything, but "neverendr" above me seems like he/she will help you guys out with that. I will explain the way I do it the best I can without video. This applies to the "Be More Objective" challenge.

First off, for my build I used a medium character. I personally think the best guns in the game are the Gerund AR and the Carb-9 SMG, so I used those for my primary and secondary weapons, respectively. Attach any unlocks you can to your guns to make them better.

1. As soon as you start, RUN to the HE charge plant and PLANT it. As soon as it has attached to the door RUN to the right for cover and help your teammates shoot at the oncoming enemies.

2. As soon as it explodes, RUN to the command post and change to an engineer. Buff your weapon damage IMMEDIATELY. You can do this while RUNNING. Make your way upstairs to the repair objective. You can go either way, left or right, because honestly, neither way is any easier than the other. When you reach the top you may have to kill a few enemies, just gun them down and then THROW DOWN A TURRET to the right of the objective FACING THE ENEMY SPAWN STAIRS. In case you were wondering, I'm pretty sure you need to be Level 5/Rank 2 to be able to use turrets. Anyways, once you've done that you shouldn't have too much trouble completing the repair objective.

3. As soon as you've completed that, jump down and switch to Operative. This is where it gets tricky because the enemy spawn is almost directly where the objective is. So try and switch quickly and GET YOUR ASS to that objective. If you don't get it the first time, just stay calm and kill some enemies before you go back in there, because running in like a mad man won't get you anywhere. Once you set up the hack and your character takes the PDA thing out GO BACK TO THE COMMAND POST AROUND THE CORNER, because you can still hack from there without taking enemy fire.

4. The next part really isn't that hard so the only tip I have is that once you've retrieved the next objective and you have to go upstairs, just take the stairs by YOUR SPAWN because you'll deal with less enemies.

I hope this helps and if there are any other questions or if you just want to play, just message me.

Yes, the challenges do seem to get more difficult as you rank up, which I find annoying.

Obviously, as you rank up, you buy upgrades for each class. However, I tend to prefer playing as a medic, and I've invest all my upgrades in the medic class. Yet for the challenges, you're forced onto other classes (mostly engineer). And I've got no upgrades as a engineer (namely, turrets).

The thing that annoys me is HOW easy it is to rank up. You can honestly do challenge 3 and just STAND next to it without doing a thing and level at some point. The thing that annoyed me in campaign is that as I kept losing due to close calls it just got harder... though I couldn't do it to begin with...

@ TC:

If I can beat campaign with limited issues (only 2 problematic levels) on hard with only the AI... its possible to do these missions if you make a new character or something.

Its def. true that challenges get harder as you rank. I couldnt understand why people were having such trouble. I breezed through them.

Than I figured out why..

The challenges were the almost the first thing I did. I played 1 resistance mission, and then the challenges, no problem.

Tried them again now that in a level 13.. Holy $hit!! Way harder!

Yea, as I said, I wouldn't mind the challenges getting harder as you ranked if you could complete the challenges with any class. But you can't. If I were an engineer and putting all my upgrade points in to the engineer class, I'd have the upgraded turret and could place two mines, etc. and I might better be able to handle Tower Defense and Escort, for example. But that's not the case.

I'm a medic. And the challenges get tougher, but I don't have any upgrades for the classes used for the challenges, so it's pretty dumb.

Honestly, I though it was all pretty easy, a couple of hiccups here and there, but simple overall. The only time I had real trouble was the final wave(s) on 3 Stars for Defense Tower, and it was because I stayed in the middle by the command post instead of running around, and putting myself in a better position. Once I did that I passed it on the first try. Either way, just keep working at it, you'll get it in no time!

EDIT: And I didn't start until I was around lvl 7... Just FYI

Just did this and beat all challenges in about an hour. Ended up level 5 when it was all done. Only abilities I added were ones given to you from the start, even when hitting rank 2 I didn't add any. Kept my guy on medium build. Didn't fail one mission.

Gun 1 was a carb 9

Gun 2 was the Tampa smg

If you already have a character that did some of the challenges the weapon unlocks DO Carry over to your new character.

For engineer missions I felt it was more of a hassle to use the turret because they would eventually get hacked and become one more thing to destroy or attack you. Just use mines.

Also on the Objectives challenge watch out, your objectives can move from the last time you played it. Mine were going all over the place.

I agree that setting the difficulty down to easy helped a bit, but I was already level 18 when I was trying these and a couple of the 3 stars were pretty difficult still.

I then made a new level 1 character, and beat all the missions in about 1.5 hours. It was so much easier as level 1, I think I died 3-4 times total over all missions and finished at level 6.

I didn't see it posted, but all of the missions need to be completed 3 star on the same character for the achievement to pop.

Same here. I also created a new character and set the diffulculty to easy n i beat BMO n TD on the 1st try. I had to replay the 3 star challenge for ED once but i beat it the next go round. definately easier with a new character.

switching to a lower difficulty absolutely does work. i was a level 10 and spent over 3 hours getting owned on the 2 star objective challenge. i was getting downed with like 2 shots. switched it to easy, beat both 2 and 3 star on the first try each with plenty of time to spare. i could immediately tell that i was able to take much more damage.
