Akir388
I feel more connected to the plot and storyline when playing as a Mage in Dragon Age 2. Funny thing, in Origins I didn't like playing as a Mage and greatly enjoyed being a Rogue. When I first started playing Dragon Age 2 I was a rogue, but it just feels like hack and slash now. So I restarted and went with being a Mage. Much more enjoyable in this game!
someguyhere
Warrior. AT my first playthrough, and it's easy to handle
Sorve
I've played through a few times with each class, but Rogue is my favorite. I can never quite make up my mind whether I prefer dual-wielding (the combat moves are wicked cool) or archer (Hood's Message to the King is a very pretty bow...), though. My gf's fave class is mage, and I gotta say, Horror is worth it. Force class doesn't deal as much damage as I need it to for my play style. Death Metal Jim
I always choose the 'Tank' character in every RPG so I played as a Warrior. I do have to admit though, that playing as the Rogue was also very enjoyable, which is why I always brought Isabela with me in my party.
PyreBall
I always go Mage first. I've currently got the Spirit Healer spec, not sure what my second one will be, though.
Sertoria
Rogue, all the way. There's just something infuriating about not being able to pick the lock of the chest in the tutorial stage.
TheJadedDragon
I tried warrior and didn't like it much. Mage was good, but halfway through the game I just wanted to change it. Once I chose rogue, it was just the misadventures of Hawke and Isabella, searching Kirkwall for riches.
Loki511041
I played as all three classes and tried all the weapon subclasses, Rogue Archer was definitely the character type i enjoyed the most. The only bad part was no bows ever really surpassed the dlc ones so i just used the same bow through the entire game.
Spiral 462
I enjoyed all but my favorite was the Mage. I love the AoE spells, it's so great when you enter an area and a ton of enemies spawn and you can target all of them at once and just destroy them. RobTenken
I honestly think the story is more compelling when you're playing as a mage. Sadly, there's a price to pay: Carver. Whiney, useless Carver.

Whiney, useless Carver. True about carver, he's a pain. I like the rouge the best. Its way to op in this game.
McGoogles
My main playthrough I was an offensive mage that specialized in the Elemental/Blood Mage skill trees. I would cast powerful AoE spells such as Firestorm and Hemorrhage on groups of enemies and freeze the tougher opponents to slow them down and take them out easier. I would also use the Blood Slave/Summon Mabari spells so there would be more allies on the battlefield. Quite an effective class, though I did want to switch to a Rogue/Warrior after a few dozen hours of gameplay.
queenofgotham
For DA:O I started as a mage because it sounded the most interesting to me at the time. I love all of the classes for different strengths and, especially in DA:O, all the different openings are fun to play though. However, because my first experience in the series was with a mage, I have kind of a bias towards that class now. So my first playthrough of two is with a mage. ecto69
When I originally started playing on PS3 on release date I picked 2H Warrior iirc. I however picked Rouge for my first Xbox play , recently got game for $4-5 , and since playing as Mage has one drawback I usually leave that for 2nd play or 3rd. I specifically like to have one companion in my party hence rouge. And duel wield is so much fun.
Floyd.
Rogue* Dual* But hell yeah, I always main a DW Rogue if possible.
MissElysium
I tend to go mage and set myself up as a healer with some offensive spells. That way I don't need to take Anders with me plus I like being in control of the healing aspects. I do very much enjoy the combat in the game though I'm not very tactical in my approach
