Achievement Guide and Roadmap

Recommended Posts

theres no way its 40-80 hours if theres someone that already has the 1000

Yeah I'd say 30h + is more likely. Due to all the COOP-Challenges.

There should be a "Estimated Achievement Difficulty Poll" as on the ps3trophies.org site. They have it in every forum for every game. Not here though.

Me being one of them. Definitely not 40-80 hours. Heck, the 100,000 kills took 5 hours (though I had a 20000 kill lead before dedicating time to it) and the challenges, depending on skill, take only 4-8 hours. Story mode's a quick one as well.

how did you get that many kills in 5 hours. I havent played the game yet but the achievement for 72 was long on dr2. so only 4-8 for the whole game though? not bad, may have to pick up

@ TC, you're welcome to use the "cramped quarters" guide that i posted on trueachievements, if you wish.

I'm sure there are multiple ways to accomplish this achievement. This is just the method I used, which I'm posting for anyone who wishes to replicate it. I did not originally plan to do the achievement this way, but it ended up working out.

IMPORTANT NOTES

- If you use a different method for this, be aware that Snowflake the tiger can not enter a vehicle.

- Like the other Dead Rising games a combination of 8 psychopaths / survivors can only be spawned at a time. Therefore, you must deal with all side missions before beginning this method.

PSYCOPATHS / SURVIVORS THAT MUST BE DEALT WITH FIRST

- Denyce

- Lashawnda / Gordon

- Bill

- Ted / Snowflake / Lenny

LEADERSHIP MAGAZINE

Before you begin gathering your survivors you'll want to grab the leadership magazine. Keeping this in your inventory will make the survivors in your group much more efficient. It is found in the Ragazine store on the second floor of Royal Flush Plaza.

GATHERING YOUR 8 SURVIVORS

Survivor #1= Chad

Spawn Time= DAY 1; 9:10 A.M.

Once you've dealt with the aforementioned psychos and survivors, take a walk down the Platinum Strip, he's probably already spawned. You'll find him in front of one of the stores shooting zombies with his shotgun. Help him deal with zombies and he'll ask you to help find his wife, who will become your second survivor.

Survivor #2= Doris

Spawn Time= Day 1; 9:10 A.M.

Doris is Chad's wife. Take Chad further down the Platinum Strip and you will find her on the roof of a small concession stand shooting zombies. Kill all the zombies crowding around the concession stand and she will reunite with Chad. Afterwards, you must talk to her again and she will join you.

Survivors #3, #4, #5, #6= Brian, Curtis, John, Kevin

Spawn Time= Day 1; 3:30 P.M. (Brains Over Brawn mission)

Brian, Curtis, John, and Kevin are four "geeks" who have barricaded themselves in an unfinished Ultimate Playhouse store in South Plaza to play a board game. Talk to one of them and they'll tell you all about their trouble with girls, etc. After the conversation you will have to fight off a swarm of zombies that breaks through the glass of the unfinished store. Once that's finished, talk to the survivors again and they will join you.

Survivor #7= Kristin

Spawn Time= Day 1; 2 P.M. (Lush-ious Lady mission)

After the group of geeks has joined you, head up through the Arena and into Americana Casino. In the back security room you'll find Kristin, an extremely intoxicated showgirl, puking on the floor. Since she is so drunk, you'll have the option to carry her, which can help prevent zombies from grabbing your neck.

NOTE: I would recommend taking the survivors into Royal Flush Plaza and saving in the bathroom now. Depending on how quickly you've gathered these survivors you might fail Case 2-1 while getting the last survivor and finishing this achievement. Saving here will allow you to either finish this achievement while ignoring the case (and reloading after), or leave the survivors in the bathroom while you go to the saferoom and get your next case.

Survivor #8= Randolph

Spawn Time= Day 1; ?? (Art Appreciation mission)

Sometime recently Stacey probably called you with the Art Appreciation side mission. You need to take your survivors to the Palisades Mall for this. In "The Cleroux Collection" art store, on the second floor, you will find Randolph inside, crying, because the zombies can't appreciate good art. You'll have to pay him $3,000 for his painting before he will accompany you.

GETTING TO THE CAR

With all 8 survivors in tow you need to find the clown car. The clown car is the only vehicle capable of holding all 8 survivors, as far as I know. I don't believe the SUV works for this achievement. The clown car is blue, purple, white and pink, and the front grill is a smiling clown face with an ice cream cone hat! You'll know it when you see it. It's also featured in the achievement tile for this achievement.

At this point in the game, the clown car spawns in one of two locations. Either in Uranus Zone next to the swinging rocketship ride, or on the Silver Strip outside the Swept Away wedding chapel.

Assuming it spawned in Uranus Zone, since that was the most common spawn point for me, begin heading out of the Palisades Mall towards the Atlantica Casino. If any of your survivors are below 50% health you should make a quick detour at Chris' Fine Foods which has an endless supply of steaks, as well as other foods, to heal your survivors.

If you get to the rocketship ride and the clown car isn't parked next to it, just exit out the Uranus Zone tunnel and up the Silver Strip a bit. When you find the clown car, enter it, and then you can either wait for your survivors to catch up and get in, or drive close to them and pick them up. The survivors automatically warp into the vehicle when they're close enough. You don't have to do anything.

Good luck with this achievement. It's not as long or hard as I probably made it sound.

You should definitely put this in the guide, it works great but there are two things I'd add. First, Chad was a little glitchy for me and wouldn't show up except if I left and came back in to the area a lot, and this was well after the time he's supposed to show up. Even then, he would still appear and disappear until I got a chance to make him join my party. Secondly, if one of your guys dies, you'll get the "Once Bitten" mission at around 8 pm on the Silver Strip, so there's a quick replacement survivor. You do need to give this guy a Zombrex though.
