DR2: Off the Record Official Bitching Thread

Recommended Posts

Yea . . .

I hate the looters who spray you, take your weapons and money. It's good that you can kill them to get it back but still, they are such [a pain].

I hate Snowflake. For some reason, he is much harder to tame. Plus, Ted won't leave me alone when I was trying to tame him then have him attack Ted. I ended up having Snowflake attack Chuck rofl.

I hate surprise zombies. I already have to deal with them seeing me and grabbing me all the time, I don't need any surprise buttsecks in the bathrooms.

That's about all that I hate.

I think I like everything you mentioned, except maybe that Snowflake's harder to tame but you can easily just leave and come back and she'll be automatically tamed.

The only thing I really hate is the way they have checkpoints set up. They should have either gone for the full-on hard save system or had the game create an autosave every time you enter a new area. The way it is now people who have a power outage or their game freeze up are just screwed over for no good reason.

- Looters. They're annoyingly persisent this time around.

- Surprise zombies, toilet or otherwise.

- How unbelievably finicky the Purewal Memorial Cup achievement is.

- Case 5-2, the case where you bring $1 million to the Shoal Nightclub. Not so much raising the money, but delivering it. If I have the money already, why do I need to wait until 7PM to finish the case?

Yeah SNOWFLAKE was a piece of cake, way easier to tame as in DR2.

My two cents:

- new implemented zombies lying on the ground and snatching after you as soon as you walk around the corner with the terrifying sound...fucks me up every time...

- infinite respawn of the efffn same PSYCHOPATHS in sandbox mode, you have to kill them over and over again (most annoying stupid CHUCK & the FOUR SNIPERS). I mean what's the point, so that I don't get bored!? I already have enough to do with the 100,000 kills...

That's been my only gripe with the game so far... I used the Slicecycle (plus Bikes magazine) while grinding for the 100,000 Kills Achievement. I was getting kills fast but to stop a few times to get rid of the snipers again because they kept shooting me off.

Those redneck bastards yeah thats right those Snipers i've had them spawn atleast 10 times in sandbox now, Earl especially cos everytime i try and jump up to his platform he shoots me and i fall back losing about half my health, thank god for the benches around there cos now i just lob them upto him and anything else i can find until he is dead.

Also Looters goddamn spraypaint and molotovs piss me off

As much as i like the new scare tactic zombie lying dormant then BOOM grabs you its starting to get old and yes i still jump whenever it happens, thankgod for diverolling :p

Doing exactly the same thing.

100,000 kills. I just don't have the patience for this right now.

Definitely needs to be 1K, can't leave it like that. :)

I just wish they'd have stayed true to the achievement title like ULTIMATE ZOMBIE GENOCIDE KILLER and so on.

Haha for sure, even the two grenades on the scaffolding to the left of him doesn't do anything. What I do is, standing in front of him so that he can almost see me, jump, he takes his shot, misses, he reloads & I climb up & kick his ass to kingdom come.

I've only played about an hour, but I have a few problems;

Frank's character model. He just doesn't look right anymore and he runs weird.

Having to press Back to check the time, meaning that I can't keep an eye on it while it is passing.

Combat. For some reason, it just seems clumsy. It may be because I'm a very low level, but I don't remember DR2 being this bad.

I'm pretty sure you have to get scratch cards in order to use strong attacks for certain combos. franks supposed to be fat which is why he runs funny. The only gripe really is the looters and clunky map with watch too ruins the experience for vets

True, I remember Frank being very fat as a character model in both Case West and OTR. Never got over it really. :/

Nah scratch cards are when you make a combo without having the Combo Card.

Combo Cards are what you need for the alternate attack of certain weapons.

Personally, I haven't found anything to bitch at with this game so far. The Looters haven't been as bad as DR2, they don't seem to use Paint as often as they did.

This game just seems tighter than DR2 to me, which is great because I've loved both previous games, and this is like the best bits of both put together

I think the game is perfect as it is, no problems at all here. Only thing bothering me is the 100,000 kills. I am at around 65,000 now, so might hit it today if I get a good few hours in.

I am using the method we all used from DR2 with the SUV, 2 laps of the whole exterior, then reload at Yutican and repeat. I know people are finding new method due to it being a new game, but having tried them all, none come close to the old school SUV method.

Frank looking obese in everything but the form fitting stuff, I get that he's husky but the clothes shouldnt make him look like hes smuggling an inner tube around his middle..

It also seems like the zombies all aggro you no matter how far you are away, like looking down royal flush plaza and seeing zombies way in the back turn and start heading for you... though its very handy for the collect zombies challenges.

Not really a complaint but I noticed someone already glitched the leaderboards...

I actually don't have too much to gripe about. I kind of like the surprise zombies, though sometimes they seem to come up at inopportune times and I'm like DAMMIT. Most things are improved over the first DR2.

One thing I find inexcusable, though, is the general all-around glitchiness. I've heard of people running into relatively consistent glitches in sandbox mode, though I haven't really yet.

Where it DID glitch up for me was right at the end of Overtime. Right after I dealt the final blow, for some reason I felt like taking a photo. The screen went dark, I got the achievement for beating Overtime, and Frank said "Eh..." like he wasn't impressed with my photo. But then, instead of playing the cutscene, I got the loading screen of TK falling (which you should see after the cutscene plays) and then straight to end credits, with no music. But I could still see and control Frank, right where he was after beating the boss. For some reason, I thought I'd try taking a picture AGAIN, but this time it stuck on the picture I took and I really couldn't do anything except press Y to make Frank talk. The credits kept rolling, and actually looped back around, so I was stuck and all I could do was quit to dashboard.

That was the most glaring glitch for me. There seem to be a lot of other smaller ones, like... when you jump up on a mid-height ledge, and Frank appears to "jump" vertically in the air for a bit. I can't recall any others off the top of my head right now, but this game seems riddled with tiny glitches here and there (and the occasional big one). Seems to lack testing and polish.

Lately this game has decided that it doesn't like for me to join someone else's game as a guest. Taking survivors back to the safe room results in a "lovely" vent glitch, forcing me to have to exit back to the dashboard without saving, and occasionally loading screens have also caused the game to freeze. I've lost out on some hefty PP bonuses because of all of this. (Escorting 8 survivors, etc...) I never encountered these problems with the previous game. Ever. Thanks to all of the experience I was unable to save, I still have to continue to work towards level 50. I would've hit 50 before starting Sandbox if the game had worked properly.

Here's one. What about this weird glitch when you're running around and sometimes you hit invisible stuff that acts and sounds like tables, chairs and other debris that's blocking your way? I get it pretty much every boss fight. never saw that in DR2.
