Thomas001122
I was just going to get the slot machine fragment(and save the rest until later) but I believe I'll wait and save that whole area until later. I accidentally spent all of my gil on coins(that part wasn't really an accident) and then exited to the historia crux. I'm broke gil wise but that's not really a problem. Mazrim
Fuck the slut machine, did the Chocobo race. Used this strategy found on ps3trophies.org "1. Get your Silver Chocobo...he is located in Academia 4xx in the room with Hope & Alyssa. Throw your mog towards the green cocoon projection to get it. (May take a few times.) 2. You want to level your silver chocobo up to his max, 45. So let's farm some materials to do so. You may already have some materials to do this, but if not, here's what you do: Go to Archlyte Steppe and make it rain. Go to the marshes to the west and run around the small island in the center. In total you need about 40 potent orbs, 50 potent essences, and 25-30 potent crystals. Buccaboo and Buccaboo Aces drop the potent orbs. Hedge Frogs, Mud Frongs, Swampmonks, and Caterchipillar drop the potent essences. Mirochu's drop the Potent Crystals. It may take a little while to farm, but it's better than playing slots for 10 hours and still possibly not getting it. 3. Level your silver chocobo to 45. 4. Catch the following two monsters: Pulse Gladiator (Archlyte Steppe-Cloudy-Spawns new the gate in the south) Cactuar (Archlyte Steppe-Sunny-Spawns in the plains right outside the settlement) After you catch these two do the following: 5. Infuse Level 1 Pulse Gladiator to your Silver Chocobo to get 'Second Wind'. Infuse your Level 1 Cactuar to your Silver Chocobo to get 'Sprinter'. 6. Go to the chocobo racing in Serendipity and start racing! I personally only do 600m races as its fast and always win. You will almost always win 1200m as well, though 1800m might be tougher. Put the strategy on the last one (stay in the back) and do not use your boost until Blue Streak procs (will do it every race). I've heard you can also level a Microchu to level 5 and infuse it to your chocobo to get marathoner. Another thing you can do to speed this up, if you have the fragment skill, is make time faster. You can get this done in a matter of like 30 minutes if you do that. Simply climb to Fal'cie class, do the races that pay 320 or 480 for 1st place, and bet 100 on your chocobo every time. You will get it in no time. If you run out of RP just retire him, then readd him and climb to Fal'cie class and repeat. If you win a 320 race, you will get a profit of 440 coins, and on the 480 races a profit of 600 coins. Once you total 10,000 coins profit you exit the chocobo race screen and you will get the trophy."
Grey Delta
I left my console on for around 11 hours last night, turned the TV off & went to bed, but my Xbox sometimes restarts when I change the channel to HDMI input, which is exactly what happened this morning. Broke my heart.

Grey Delta
Ok, I have a question. It's been said that you need to have earned 10000 coins, so if you buy 10k coins you need 20k. My question is if I bought, say, 30k coins and spent that 30k, would the amount of profit made need to be 10k or 40k? I'm assuming 10k but I'd like to be sure before i come back to this as I bought a LOT of coins.

If your converting gil to coins, and then spending the coins at the shop, then no, you only still need 10k. I bought all the fragments, and a few other things from the shop, and I got my achievement after 2 chocobo racing careers, have yet to touch the slot machine really, I've tried a couple times and just got bored. Entity
Playing the slot machines is not really profitable. An above user said something along the lines of, "[You can tell when an Ochu is going by, and you can stop it, and I mostly get them in the bottom or middle, but my timing is off sometimes]". See, that is not something you can really measure or research. That is like saying, "There might a God, sometimes he comes to my dreams, but there might not be one too". I would recommend the Chocobo races. In order to beat Yomi and Long Gui, you are going to need a powerful pet, that is grade 5 (if you want 5 stars and battles that last less than 2 minutes). In order to do that, you are going to need to grind the grade 4 and grade 5 potent drops. While you are grinding these, you can also work on the "Clock Stopper" achievement. And 100% guaranteed, you will have enough potent drops to level your Sab monster for Yomi, and have enough to build a Silver Chocobo, and all the monsters needed for the race to infuse into the Silver Chocobo. On a side note: Does anyone know where to get those Collector accessories that help in drop rate?
Cee Reno
On a side note: Does anyone know where to get those Collector accessories that help in drop rate? Collectors Catalog? Funnily enough in the Chocobo Races you mentioned. An extra to this is you can win it over and over and over again, selling each one to Chocolina for 11,000 Gil (with the 'Haggle ability on). She also sells a 'Durable Collectors Catalog' which you can easily afford after you've won/sold all the other Catalogs PS - They don't stack so you can't have multiple effects. Though having 'Item Finder' infused into one of your monster allies helps.
Elite Mouse
Why are all of you wasting your time with the slots? Spending hours and hours staring at a screen doing the same monotonous motion over and over, hoping for an elusive jackpot. Get a silver or gold chocobo, both are easy to get and easy to level up, follow a guide to infuse a couple of abilities into them, run two careers and get the achievement, and then just let the slots run into you have the coin. Much easier.

SugarDevil
I actually read a pretty funny op ed piece on these slot machines. He also makes note..when you use the "Autoplay" feature, or the left bumper, your chances of winning decrease. I don't know if it's true, and I don't suppose it would matter that much. I gave up on the slots a while ago. I liked what he said, "If you have to watch a five minute tutorial for a slot machine, it is too COMPLEX." Here's the link if anyone's interested! reaper527
all of these posts saying that this won't work in autoplay mode are flat out wrong. i bought 3000 coins, and had the fragments/achievements for casino winnings in about 2 hours (just put my tv on mute and let it run while i did computer stuff, and reloaded 3 or 4 times after it ran out of coints, before eventually it went into super victory mode and hit a big enough jackpot to pop the fragments and buy all the important stuff from the shop). AvengingCactus7
I've tried this about ten times doing autoplay. I've ran out of coins every single time. I've tried it twice manually. I ran out of coins, too. [email protected]@!*(*[email protected]$*&@(!*&[email protected]!(
MentallyTranced
Happy to say that with the new DLC with Sazh that I believe that it helped me get this achievement a wee bit quicker with the new card games they released it with. Play some poker and could win about 1000 coins from each person if play in the right way. Sazh DLC is only 400 MSP so it's not too costly.
hype
finally got this shit. after my last post i pretty much said fuck this method, but i did get it from the slots. i started out with about 18,000 coins, "a hot summer's day" & the rubberband on RB. i went & watched a show on Netflix for about an hour, came back, voila. (the pics are for encouragement lol) yeah, seems i had a bit of luck tonight given this was my 2nd attempt. http://i39.tinypic.com/igktb7.jpg http://i44.tinypic.com/ej5ri9.jpg http://i41.tinypic.com/a44oes.jpg Edited February 29, 2012 by hype
SolariStar
I got it to pop with a combination of Sahz DLC (card tables) and Chocobo Races (I infused a blue chocobo into my silver before I signed it up to race). *and no this is not my first set of races. AvengingCactus7
I finally got the Lucky Coin Fragment. I spent four days in a row getting nothing. I then logged on today, didn't even ask if it was Sunny, and I did about twenty auto spins and got two 500 coin jack pots and a 5,000. lol. I hate luck based stuff.
