its because you can only do those special moves when your combat multiplier is YELLOW or red, if its just white, or you have just performed a special move, you will break the multiplier. so once you have done a special, do a couple of regular moves until it changes colour again.

 

I am going to try and get this one achievement pretty soon, i got it with Arkham Askylum fairly easily, but there are more moves this time to factor in.

no worries. once you've done it, you should be able to do it again pretty easily. I did it with Arkham Asylum and later bought the GOTY edition (separate achievement list), i breezed through all the challenges and everything.

 

I haven't really done any of the challenges etc on this one yet, going to get the robin / nightwing ones aswell hopefully.

damn, i have just been reading the achievement guide again, turns out i have been trying to include all the gadget moves in my combos thinking they were required for it. DOH, I might be able to get this achievement easier than i thought.

Yeah, you don't need to do the gadget moves. I think you do need the bat claw slam though. I did it just to make sure I got the achievement.

i remember asylum required it, but the post in the roadmap doesn't mention it. pretty confident of unlocking this one easily now.

Using any single quick-fire gadget move will do the trick.

 

Here's the required moves that I use for a 12x variation bonus:

 

1 - Strike (:xbut:)

2 - Counter (:ybut:)

3 - Quick-Fire Batarang (:ltbut:+:ltbut:)

4 - Ultra Stun (:bbut::bbut::bbut:)

5 - Aerial Attack (:bbut:+:abut:+:abut:)

6 - Beatdown (:bbut:, :xbut: repeatedly)

7 - Ground Takedown (:rtbut:+:ybut:)

8 - Special Combo Multi-Ground Takedown (:abut:+:bbut:)

9 - Special Combo Bat Swarm (:abut:+:xbut:)

10 - Special Combo Takedown (:bbut:+:ybut:)

11 - Special Combo Disarm and Destroy (:xbut:+:ybut:)

McGoogles, I don't think I ended up using any gadgets for it to work

 

There have been mixed responses from lots of people on whether or not gadgets are required for the achievement. It has also been said that the gadget criteria can be replaced with the evade move.

 

Are you sure you didn't use batclaw slam or accidentally fire a quick-fire batarang, though?

I know for sure that I didn't use the batclaw slam but I'm almost positive I didn't quick-fire a batarang either. I did however, evade a shitload. I was using evade to give me time to think about my next move and obviously to not get hit as well.

I didn't get the achievement until i used the batclaw slam. i'm sure the batarang would work as well but i found it easier to start the fight with the batclaw slam.

 

I didn't get the achievement either until I threw in a Batarang. It basically needs what McGoogles said earlier up the thread :)

3. Evade (press A to jump once to an open area of the map. Note: you can only do that once, the second consecutive open area jump will break the combo.)

4. Stun (B)

5. Disarm and Destroy (X+Y)

6a. Bat Swarm (A+X)

6b. Combo Batarang (LT+LT quickly)

7. Ground Pound (RT+Y)

8. Multi Ground Takedown (A+B)

9. Aerial Attack (B+A+A)

10. Special Combo Takedown (B+Y)

11. Ultra Stun (B+B+B)

12. Beat Down (B+X+X+X...)

 

 

This is the exact list i used, and it needed every one of them. Nothing else.

I kept getting a times 11 variation bonus until I used quick batarang and bat claw slam. I don't know which counted since I forgot to do an instant takedown before trying one of those.

 

I know times 12 doesn't count for the achievement since I needed the Y+B combo, so at least one of those gadget moves is needed.

 

I got this achievement on the final wave of survival of the fittest with a combo of 87 and a score of 60585 for that round. It'll probably be the best round score I get for these challenges, but I'm glad I got it out of the way.

I got this one on the Iceberg Lounge map, unlimited guys and if you do it close to when you start you won't have all the weapons like the shield and cattle prod.

 

Easiest way for me was to write down all 12 moves on a piece of paper and I made little strips of paper and every time I did a move i'd pause real quick and cover it up so I knew which ones I had left.

 

Evade evade evade is the key and try to do the batclaw slam, beatdown, and ground pound early because they'll leave you vulnerable. Save all the takedown, bat swarm for the end.

I just did this now, but without any gadgets at all. I did the as follows:

 

1. Get the four basic moves out of the way

X (strike), Y (counter), B (stun), AA (evade)

 

2. Then get the combos out of the way (striking and evading until I the counter was yellow)

X+Y (Disarm)

X+A (swarm)

A+B (Multi combo takedown)

Y+B (combo takedown)

 

3. Then get the following 2

BAA (Aerial takedown)

BX (beat down)

 

4. Finally, finish with the following (so you don't have to worry at all during the main fight)

BBB (ultra stun)

RT+Y (Ground Pound)

 

No gadgets required. The only one I would possibly use is LT+B (quickfire rec) to stun armoured guys.

YEAAAAAAAA BABY, just got this ach after attempting it for at least 5 hours. This is not/not one of the easier achs. I had to bust out a sheet of paper and log each move I did to ensure I got all 12 variations. This ach should be worth about 100 times more than the 5 pts its at now.
