Introduction

Gerbil Physics is a physics-based puzzle game in which you must use an arsenal of explosives to bring destruction to a collection of cute gerbils. The challenge lies in getting all gerbils to land below a specific line within then level, using as few explosives as possible.This was originally an Xbox Live Indie Game (XBLIG) and it has now found its way onto Windows Phone with three times as many levels. Step 1: Get 72 total gold chests and 16 total wipeouts

Play through all the levels starting from the beginning, getting a gold chest rating on each level. Along the way you will probably get the 16 wipeouts you need for those specific achievements.

 

Step 2: Mop-up

Complete whatever miscellaneous achievements you may have remaining.

 

Conclusion

Some of the levels in this game will require repeated attempts to get gold. This game would be a cake walk if solutions existed for every level. However, at this time, only a fraction of the levels have solution guides. Fortunately, a recent patch added 12 new levels to the game, meaning you no longer have to earn gold chest on ALL the levels, just 72 out of 84. The levels are by no means extremely difficult, but some will require more thought and precision than others. All-in-all, you should quickly, and fairly easily be able to earn all 200 gamerscore in this game in less than 5 hours.

These two achievements are awarded just for demolishing all 72 levels in the game. Demolishing a level simply means completing it by getting all gerbils on screen below the line. Your score, time, or amount of explosives used does not matter.

Unlocking a gold chest on a level requires that you get a certain score. Score is earned by racking up combos of knocking gerbils below the line and from unused explosives. Also, earning a wipeout almost always guarantees gold, as you are awarded a significant amount of points for them.

A recent patch in early October 2012 added 12 additional levels to the game. These new levels also count towards these gold medal achievements, meaning you do not need to earn a gold chest on ALL the levels, just 72 out of the 84 levels.

To unlock these three achievements, you only need to get 16 total Wipeouts out of the possible 25. To get a Wipeout, you basically need to have a ton of bombs explode within a second or two and all the gerbils fall below the line. It is easiest just to spam bombs fast and sit back and watch the results and adjust on your next attempt as necessary. You can also earn a Wipeout by using only a single bomb (I think maybe two).

These point related achievements will unlock along your trek towards getting gold chests on all sites. The totals are cumulative and are a sum of your high scores on all sites combined. You cannot just keep replaying the same level over and over again to work towards this.

Avoid the alarm gerbils on site 4. Collateral.

Complete site 9. Be Decisive using only one Disintegrator.

 

"On site 9, choose the disintegrator from the upper left-hand corner, then touch the 2 gerbils stacked in the middle of the bottom row. Once these 2 disintegrate, the "tower" will collapse on itself." -St Tony22 on TA

Collect all pickup items with a single bomb and gerbil on site 10. Sink.

 

"On the left side of the screen, there are 2 columns of gerbils. Place the bomb between the 2nd and 3rd gerbil of the left column. The ensuing explosion will launch the top gerbil of the right column into an arc that will pass over every pick-up on the level." -St Tony22 on TA

Complete the site 25. Spooky using only one Exploder.

"The spot I used is on the left side of the structure. There is a platform that is only as wide as a small gerbil block towards the top of the structure. Place your exploder on the left hand side of that small platform (it is underneath the uppermost green gerbil). You might need a couple of goes to get it right but it will pop the cheevo." -idlelimey on TA

Make a gerbil spin around 12 times on site 35. Newton's Gerbil.

 

"I put a bomb on the right side of the gerbil in a ball on the top left launching him into the watermelons. When he stops moving put another bomb close to him and try to launch him into any remaining watermelons and keep repeating until you get the achievement. I still had several bombs left when I got the achievement." -wbs 101 on TA

Complete site 41. Two Seasons in 32 seconds.

 

Just complete site 41 in less than 32 seconds. This is pretty simple. Just place a ton of bombs fast and watch the magic happen. You should get it within a couple of tries.

Avoid detonating any penguins on site 72. Bad neighbors.

 

This one is probably the most tricky achievement in the game. HERE is a link to the TA page for tips to earning this achievement, as well as detailed instructions how to complete this achievement as quickly and painlessly as possible.

The following 3 achievements are earned by completing a miscellaneous task and can technically be earned on any site.

Disintegrate something you think you should not touch!

 

All you need to do is use the disintegration gun on a red alarm gerbil. The first level this is possible is level 9.

Use at least 10 bombs on a single site.

 

Site 7 is the first in which you can unlock this. Just use up all the bombs at the beginning of the level and the achievement will unlock.

Get any pickup on any site.

 

Just collect any pickup on any site. A pickup must be collected by an exploded gerbil. Site 7 is the first level with a pick up.
