Introduction

Welcome to the first installment of DLC for borderlands 2, 'Captain Scarlett and her Pirate's Booty'. The achievements in this DLC are simple to attain and you cannot miss any of them as you can continue with the game indefinitely after completing the main story. I have given this a difficulty rating of 5/10 as there are 2 'raid bosses' that can prove very difficult to defeat, especially if you play alone and both are objectives in side missions, thus if you can't beat them, you cannot beat all side missions and cannot attain the corresponding achievement.

Step 1: Main story

The main story of this DLC consists of 9 missions, including the final mission, 'X Marks the Spot', which upon completion will unlock the only story related achievement, 'Treasure Hunter'(Complete the mission ''X Marks the Spot'') which is worth your first 75:gsicon:.

Step 2: Side missions/Exploring

After completing the main story of the DLC, it is time now, to finish any and all remaining side missions. All side missions are obvious in their location as when any become available, you will see a yellow exclamation mark on any map that you are currently on. Also, any discovered side missions will be in your journal, with an orange question mark and any undiscovered missions will have a white exclamation mark next to them. All missions in your journal, whether you have accepted them or not, will be under a title and that title is the name of the location where you can find the mission. There are no hidden side missions, so you can't miss any.

Whilst you are traversing the world completing side missions, you should also be consciously uncovering as much of the map as you can. Anywhere undiscovered will not be visible on your map. You should have traveled in a huge majority of the different maps whilst completing side and story missions, so you shouldn't have much of the map left, if any of it at all after completing all missions. After completing all side missions and discovering all locations on the new maps, you will have earned your final combined 50:gsicon:.

Conclusion

A simple set of achievements to add to your overall Borderlands 2 gamerscore. They aren't too hard, the only exception would be, 'Completionist'(Complete all Pirate's Booty side missions) as 2 of these side missions require you to defeat 2 separate bosses, who are notoriously difficult without the correct set-up. To be sure you will stand a chance to beat these 2 bosses, you should find other people to play with and help each other to defeat them.

Complete the mission ''X Marks the Spot''

Story related, cannot be missed.

This achievement is unlocked after completing the final story mission of the DLC, called, 'X Marks the Spot'. There are a total of 9 missions to complete along the main story of this DLC.

To start the DLC, go to any fast travel station and look for a place called 'Oasis' and travel there. Upon arriving in Oasis, a cutscene will trigger thus starting the main story.

Completed all Pirate's Booty side missions

There are a total of 20 side missions available in this DLC, 5 of which are all the same mission, but are in 5 separate locations. These missions are called. 'Message in A Bottle'. There is one of each of these missions in 5 of the new locations within the DLC.

You cannot miss any side missions, as none of them are hidden in any way. All missions will be obvious to you as they will appear in your journal, when they become available, next to a white exclamation mark if you haven't discovered the mission yet, or an orange question mark if they are discovered. All of the missions will also appear underneath a title, which is the name of the location they are in.

The final 2 side missions that you will likely activate are both only available after you have beaten the main story and they are to beat the 2 raid bosses. You can also only unlock the second mission after you have beaten the first. These 2 missions, in order of acquisition are, 'Hyperius the Invincible' and 'Master Gee the Invincible'.

After completing all of the side missions, including beating the 2 raid bosses the achievement will unlock.

Discovered all named locations in Oasis and the surrounding Pirate's Booty zones

There are 7 new locations introduced in 'Captain Scarlett and her Pirate's Booty'. You will unlock each location as you progress along the main story. To fully discover a map, you have to have filled in all the blanks on the map, by physically traveling to every corner of every map. You will know when you have discovered an area of a map, as it will fill in, where previously there would have been nothing there.

The 7 locations and sub-locations within each area are;

Oasis. The sub-locations within this area are; The town of Oasis, Coral Island Camp, Horrid Hideaway, Rockview Rest stop, Wreck of the Kronus, Wurmtail Plateau and Wurmwater Passage.

The Rustyards. The sub-locations within this area are; Coobie Gorge, Dreg Scrapyard, Herbet's Hideout, Maroonie's Clipper, Rusty Cog Settlement and Titleman's Point.

Hayter's Folly. The sub-locations within this area are; The Aquanexus, Grendel's Den, Hot Spring Hideout and Sandman's Overlook.

Wurmwater. The sub-locations within this area are; The Buccaneer's Bacchanal, Coastal Caverns, Hegeland Camp, Old Murphy's Canyon and Wurmwater Flats.

Washburne Refinery. The sub-locations within this area are; C3n50r807's Cubicle, The Arm, Workforce Fabrication Center, Forge Array, Lair of the Lecher-Bot and Carbonslag Crater.

Magnys Lighthouse. The sub-locations within this area are; AM-FM Isle, Magnys Lighthouse and Spire Town Docks.

Lair of the Leviathan. The sub-locations within this area are; Lair of the Leviathan and Chamber of the Lost Treasure.

There are 2 more area's that can only be accessed during the 2 side missions that you acquire after completing the main story. The first is Hyperius the Invincible's arena, that can be found in Washburne Refinery and Master Gee the Invincible's arena, that can be found in Hayter's Folly. Master Gee's arena can only be entered after you have defeated Hyperius the Invincible and acquired the mission to kill Master Gee.

You have to have discovered all of these named locations, as well as fill in all the blanks on your map to fully discover everywhere. You will know that your map is fully discovered if there is a thick white line around the edges of it, without any breaks or blank spots. This is also the same for the inner area of your map. There cannot be any blank/hidden area on your map, you must travel to any that are present to discover it.

*Note, there is a trouble spot on the map for Magnys Lighthouse, that many people have trouble discovering. The area is a small circle that seems you cannot discover, but you have only to jump up the building that the blank spot is covering. To do this you must first jump on the fence on the side of the building, then onto a vent. From the vent you can jump onto the canopy roof at the front of the building, then follow the roof round and you will see a door, with a green light on it, indicating that it can be opened. Jump up to this door and enter it, to discover this tricky location.
