MISSION 8: MIDNIGHT

"Where reason does not stop you, perhaps force can at least delay you."

http://img839.imageshack.us/img839/2825/mission819.jpg

Mission Brief: The Didact's ship is en route to Earth. After the events on Ivanoff Station, Master Chief pilots a Broadsword fighter and pursues the Forerunner ship in a desperate attempt to destroy it from within. Armed with a Havok nuclear weapon, the Chief must get deep inside the ship before detonating the nuke. With a desperate plan on the line and Cortana's Rampancy worsening, the Chief's knows they might not survive.

Take some time to adjust yourself to the controls of the Broadsword, and get a feel for how sharp it can tun with and without rolling to one side or the other. The next few minutes of this level are going to be hectic and you may crash...a lot. Defensive turrets are positioned throughout the ship and unless you're flying directly at them, you can generally just fly past it all without a worry.

  • Cortana: "Broadsword's hull integrity is stable. We'll be safe as long as we stay below the Didact's shields."
  • John-117: "Where's the Composer?"
  • Cortana: "Close. I should be able to guide us to it."
  • Didact: "You have not been Composed. Such inoculation should not have been possible.
  • Cortana: "Locking onto his transmission...he's at the Composer. We can take them both out at once."

http://img51.imageshack.us/img51/7093/mission81.jpg

Try not to get distracted by the radio chatter between Chief and Lasky that follows. Your biggest threat will come in the way of energy barriers and the moving parts of the Didact's ship.

*A head on collision is certainly fatal.

At times, you will come across doors that look as though they're about to block the entire pathway, but they always have some small gap for you to fly through.

*Try to avoid using the afterburner in tight areas so you do not crash into any of the moving sections of the ship.

*Be sure to destroy the energy spheres that block off passages that you must fly through.

  • John-117: "The Didact's got the Composer. We're in a Broadword carrying a Havok-grade payload, on approach to deliver it.
  • Lasky: "Let's see if we can grease the wheels for you. All ships! Prepare to fire!"

*The danger picks up when you come to a section where a series of energy beams fill the trench as it narrows.

*Pull off the afterburner and take this section slowly to avoid getting hit by the lasers.

*Be sure to decelerate and carefully maneuver through the next tight corridor.

After another tight corridor, you're nearly out of the trench. One last spiraling corridor remains, an then you arrive at your target.

http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/8067/mission82.jpg

FROM THE CRADLE

You burst free from the trench to discover a massive space battle taking place directly over the sealing Cradle that leads into the deeper portions of the Didact's ship. Forerunner Particle Cannons line the cradle and are busy engaging UNSC vessels. You current objective is to get the Particle Cannons offline so that Infinity can blast open a path into the Forerunner ship for the Master Chief.

http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/5945/mission83.jpg

  • Lasky: "Weapons, prepare firing solution! We promised to get the Chief inside that chip and I am not about to let that man down"

*There are FOUR Particle Cannons that you must neutralize.

*You need to fly through their open sides to get a clean shot on them.

*Anti-aircraft turrets protect the entrance to each energy source so take caution when approaching the targets.

Once all four Particle Cannons are disabled, the Infinity blasts open a hole in the Didact's ship during a short cutscene.

http://img715.imageshack.us/img715/958/mission84.jpg

The Master Chief flies through just as the ship begins resealing itself.

  • Lasky: "We'll be on station if you need us. Make sure you give the Didact our regards. Infinity out."

BELLY OF THE BEAST

The Broadsword is no longer an option for the Havok warhead after it crashed inside the Didact's ship. The Master Chief decided to deliver it directly to the Didact.

Starting Loadout: Battle Rifle, SAW, and Hologram

http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/5941/mission85.jpg

  • Cortana: "Now what do we do?"
  • John-117: "Plan B."

There are no UNSC weapon caches at this point, so when you run out of ammo in either weapon, replace them with Forerunner weapons. Your first encounter in the starting corridor is a group of FOUR Watchers.

*They try to build Forerunner Turrets, so take them out quickly with your Battle Rifle.

http://img515.imageshack.us/img515/9660/mission86.jpg

*Try to conserve your SAW for now.

*You can grab a Light Rifle from a nearby weapons rack if you choose to ditch the Battle Rifle or SAW this early.

A lone Knight Battlewagon controls the next section of the corridor, and as soon as it notices you, it tries to deploy a Watcher.

  • Didact: "Where reason does not stop you, perhaps force can at least delay you."

*You might be able to halt that deployment of the Watcher with a Frag or Pulse Grenade.

*If you fail, take down the Watcher first, then hose the Knight down with the SAW.

*Be sure to keep a safe distance since these Knights carry Scattershots.

*The Scattershot is a great replacement for the SAW, be sure to grab it!

*Another Knight enters the room from a newly unlocked doorway.

*Use the Hologram to distract this Knight is necessary and take him down with a few Pulse Grenades and the Scattershot.

Proceed through the newly opened doorway. Two more Watchers occupy the T-intersection and will try to summon Crawlers, so kill them quickly! Proceed down the corridor and through the opened doorway, a Knight Battlewagon and two standard Knights await.

*In order to get through the next room quickly, deploy a Hologram towards the Knights and quickly begin running through the doorway to the left.

http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/343/mission87.jpg

*Another door will open and when you enter, you will fall through an anti-gravity lift that brings you to the lower levels. You will have to pass through a corridor before reaching a larger chamber where you must insert Cortana into a nearby console. A Forerunner weapons cache with more Light Rifle ammo can be found in this small corridor. Once you put Cortana into the system, she activates a teleporter to get you closer to the Composer.

  • Cortana: "I detected an energy signature ahead. I think it's a transit system like on Requiem. Find a way to access it. I'll try to route us to the Composer. Put me in the system."
  • Didact: "Is this the secret you've kept from me? This...evolved ancilla?"

On the other side of the portal, you emerge inside a much smaller chamber with a small pack of Crawlers. Take them out with your Light Rifle and proceed through the new portal.

MAJOR FIREFIGHT: KNIGHTS AND RAMPS

Recommended Loadout: The Light Rifle gives you the best all around success against the Crawlers, Watchers and even the Knights. The Hologram will be beneficial in this fight due to it's ability to distract the Knights. A Scattershot is also suggested for your secondary weapon for close encounters.

From where you being this firefight, two Knights, one whom is a Battlewagon, man the ramps leading up to the next level, paired with Watchers.

*Pick off the Watchers with your Light Rifle, then focus on taking out the two Knights.

*If you choose to take out the Knights up close, punish them with your Scattershot after taking out the Watchers.

*Restock on any Light Rifle ammo at any of the nearby caches on the right.

*Proceed up the ramp, where a Knight Lancer and Knight Commander await.

*Take out the remaining watchers while avoiding death from the Lancer's Binary Rifle.

*The Commander tends to stick near the portal as its main defender, so focus your fire on the Lancer for now, using the ramps as cover.

*It is possible to rush the Lancer after he fires a shot and kill him instantly with your Scattershot, and it helps to deploy a Hologram to pull this off.

http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/3761/mission88.jpg

*Replace your Scattershot with the Binary Rifle for a short time and take out the Commander with it. Be sure to pick your Scattershot back up.

When the Commander dies, the portal to the next section opens. Do not worry about restocking on ammo, for the portal teleports you to an armory filled with Forerunner, Covenant, and UNSC weapons.

MISSION 8: MIDNIGHT

Continued...

"And so...you come at last."

THE ARMORY

http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/3990/mission89.jpg

Within the Armory, you will find several useful weapons such as the Covenant Carbine, an Incineration Cannon, Binary Rifle, Light Rifle and more. Consider taking the Incineration Cannon and Light Rifle. Once you're properly armed, head through the next portal.

The portal places you behind a Knight that is completely unaware of your position. Go ahead and assassinate it.

http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/8099/mission810.jpg

Crawlers begin to rush up the ramps from the middle level, while two Knights remain stationed there.

*Using the Light Rifle, pick off the Crawlers that ambush you, as well as any on the lower levels.

*From the top level, use your Light Rifle to eliminate any nearby Watchers.

*Take out the two Knights with ease with your Incineration Cannon.

The lower level is patrolled by a standard Knight and a Knight Commander, along with more Crawlers and Watchers.

*Snipe out the Watchers and Crawlers with your Light Rifle.

*Destroy the two Knights with your Incineration Cannon again and collect any ammo that remains from the Commander before heading through the next portal.

http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/3007/mission811.jpg

MAJOR FIREFIGHT: CRAWLERS GALORE

Recommended Loadout: The Light Rifle and Incineration Cannon will be extremely useful for the next firefight. Make sure you are equipped with both.

The portal sends you to a new chamber where Crawlers can be seen climbing a central pillar in the distance. Proceed down the bridge while eliminating the Crawlers with your Light Rifle. As you approach, a Knight Lancer warps into view in front on the central pillar.

*Take it out quickly with the Incineration Cannon, then finish off any remaining Crawlers.

A small control console teleports in front of the pillar; it contains Cortana, who is still trying to pinpoint the Composer's new location. Take note of the long bridge that stretches into the distance to the left if the control console and prepare to defend your position from several waves of Crawlers.

*The Light Rifle is extremely useful in this firefight and there is even a weapons cache near the central pillar to stock up on ammo at any time during the fight.

The Crawlers come in waves, first from the long bridge, hen from the pillars that flank the path you arrived on. Halfway through the battle, Cortana activates Forerunner Turrets to help with the defense.

*So long as you are consistent wit your headshots, this firefight will not be difficult.

http://img811.imageshack.us/img811/5236/mission812.jpg

Eventually, Cortana succeeds in her task. Pull her from the console and fight your way down the long bridge to a new portal that will bring you to the Composer.

The portal takes you to an anti-gravity lift that pushes you back toward another platform somewhere deep inside the ships's Cradle. Take the anti-gravity lift!

  • Cortana: "Chief...once that warhead is primed, the window for getting out of here is going to be pretty slim."
  • John-117: "I know."

Enjoy the short flight through the gravity lift and the beautiful backdrop as Earth comes into view. Don't get too excited. Time is running out.

http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/7030/mission813.jpg

  • Cortana: "Activity. Significant slipspace event building under the Composer!"
  • John-117: "He's powering it up."

When you land on the platform, you will find a large Forerunner weapons cache. Every type of Forerunner weapon, minus the Incineration Cannon can be found here. If you still have Incineration ammo, keep the Cannon. Otherwise, consider replacing it with a Binary Rifle. Stock up on Light Rifle ammo.

At the next computer terminal, Cortana attempts to lower the shields around the Didact and Composer by splitting her rampant personalities apart.

  • Cortana: "I've got to do something you're not going to like."
  • John-117: "What did you just do?"
  • Cortana: "I ejected my rampant personalities spikes into the system. If I do that at each of those beams, the copies can overwhelm the Composer's shielding."

http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/5835/mission814.jpg

With that done, two objective markers appear on the HUD. Your objective it to locate two more console on the floating platforms ahead; they can be reached by taking the indicated anti-gravity lifts that launch you across the chasm. You have the option of whether to go left or right.

*We're going to want to head to the right!!!

MAJOR FIREFIGHT: ISALND HOPPING

Recommended Loadout: The Light Rifle is your go-to weapon for the rest of the level. It will be useful for taking out Watchers and Crawlers from a distance and even up close. If you've managed to conserve your Incineration Cannon ammo, this firefight will be much easier. If you've run out of ammo for said weapon, the Binary Rifle is a great replacement. Two shots are a guaranteed Knight kill if the second shot hits the head. Remember to use your Hologram when necessary to distract the enemy.

After taking the anti-gravity lift to the island on the right, you will be thrown into battle against Crawlers and Watchers. By taking this route, we will be faced with the weaker Forerunner enemies and come across valuable weapons before moving to the island on the left, which contains several Knights.

ISLAND ONE

*Begin by taking out the Crawlers and Watchers on the ground floor with your Light Rifle.

*The middle level contains some Crawler Snipes, so be sure to check the walls carefully before rushing to the objective.

*A side armory on the middle level holds Incineration Cannon ammo. Restock on ammo here!

*The fight to the switch on the upper level isn't too rough, just mop up the few Crawlers on this level before activating the light bridge controls.

*Cross the bridge while picking off Crawlers and Watchers with your Light Rifle.

*A Knight Commander with its own Incineration Cannon waits for you at the end of the platform. Slaughter him with your Incineration Cannon and mop up any surviving enemies.

*Finally, insert Cortana into the console and after she splits her personalities, make your way to the marked anti-gravity lift.

ISLAND IN BETWEEN

This smaller island floats in between the two larger ones. As soon as you land, prepare to fight a pack of Crawlers led by a Knight.

*Destroy these Promethean forces with your Incineration Cannon and make your way to the top level.

*Eliminate the Crawlers and Watchers on this level, as well as the Forerunner Turrets.

*There is a weapons rack near the Forerunner Turret that houses more Incineration Cannon ammo, be sure to stock up!

*The anti-gravity lift to the second island is guarded by another Knight and Crawler pack. Take them out with your Cannon before launching yourself to island two.

MISSION 8: MIDNIGHT

Continued...

"I am not leaving you here!"

ISLAND TWO

As soon as you land, a Knight warps directly in front of you and another Knight and Crawler pack appear under the central arch next the ramp leading to the second level.

http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/9859/mission815.jpg

*Take out the two Knights with the Incineration Cannon and pick off the Crawlers with your Light Rifle.

*Once the two Knights and Crawlers are dealt with, climb the ramp.

*Moe Crawlers infest the ramp leading up to the middle level, be ready to take them out with the Light Rifle.

*A Knight and a Knight Battlewagon control the middle level, take them out with your Incineration Cannon and mop up the Crawlers with your Light Rifle.

*Climb the next ramp and activate the switch to activate the light bridge.

*As soon as the bridge is activated, Knights teleport to the platform ahead of you.

*One of them attempts to rush you, take him out with your Incineration Cannon.

*The other Knight hangs back so pick him off slowly with your Light Rifle.

*Cross the bridge and three more Knights will warp on the central platform; using the pillars for cover, pick them off with a combination of Pulse Grenades and Light Rifle shots.

*A Knight Battlewagon will warp at the end of this platform.

*If you have enough ammo, consider taking out all the Knights with your Incineration Cannon, then replacing it with the Battlewagon's Scattershot.

Insert Cortana into the console and as the shields around the Composer being to fade, the Didact fires the Composer towards Earth.

  • Didact: "And yet, still you fail."

Just as the you regain control of the Master Chief, Cortana's computer terminal is destroyed before you can retrieve her.

http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/1254/mission816.jpg

  • John-117: "Cortana?!"

You are to hurry back to the indicated gravity lifted on the platform you arrived on. On your way there, Cortana can be heard whispering her last reassuring words to the Chief. Once you arrive on the indicated platform, you will be faced with three Knight Commanders.

*Take them out by any means, whether it's an up close encounter with the Scattershot, or devastating Incineration Cannon fire if you've managed to save ammo.

Take the gravity lift as it launches you up to the light bridge leading to the Composer. Proceed down the bridge and enjoy the short 'fight' between the Master Chief and the Didact.

http://img824.imageshack.us/img824/8990/mission817.jpg

  • Didact: "You persist too long after your own defeat. Come then, Warrior. Have your resolution. So misguided. Humanity's imprisonment is a kindness."

Be sure to pay attention during the interactive parts of the cutscenes!

http://img571.imageshack.us/img571/7275/mission818.jpg

After the Chief detonates the nuke, sit back and experience one of the most emotional cutscenes of Halo.

  • John-117: "Cortana. Cortana, do you read? Cortana, come in. How...?"
  • Cortana: "Oh, I'm the strangest thing you've seen all day?"
  • John-117: "But if we're here - ?"
  • Cortana: "It worked. You did it. Just like you always do."
  • John-117: "So how do we get out of here?"
  • Cortana: "I'm not coming with you this time."
  • John-117: "What?"
  • Cortana: "Most of me is down there. I only held enough back to get you off the ship."
  • John-117: "No. That's not - ! We go together."
  • Cortana: "It's already done."
  • John-117: "I am not leaving you here!"
  • Cortana: "John...I've waited to long to do that."
  • John-117: "It was my job to take care of you."
  • Cortana: "We were supposed to take care of each other. And we did."
  • John-117: "Cortana - please...Wait - "
  • Cortana: "Welcome home, John."

SAW

  • FAST rate of fire, but slow reload time.
  • In my opinion, pass this weapon up on Legendary, it is NOT entirely recommended for most encounters.
  • 72 Rounds.

In my experience, the Saw destroyed small groups of Knights extremely efficiently. I wouldn't recommend it as a primary weapon, but I wouldn't discount it on your Legendary run either.

I also grabbed Needlers fairly frequently to dispatch Knights and Elites. It is (at least) a good substitute for the Plasma Pistol.

.. and thus is known as the day BiggD rose accumulated 29 posts in an hour. ;)

Is that you being envious Hishoa... it usually takes you an hour and 15 minutes to make 29 posts (and those are usually threads) ;)

Good work on the guide those who contributed. For me it wouldn't be complete without NakedHalo's speedrun videos (the amount of fun I've had trying to pull off glitch techniques is worth the price of admission, may they never release an halo without problems). Mixmaker117's ya man on the inside for videos, hes getting noticeably more confident with each passing video he makes.

P.S.

I'd have to end it with a massive thank you to 343i for doing a stearling job and a message wishing bungie all the best, and the fans will see them both starside for Destiny and Halo 5. Because those are the guys who gave us such a fun sandbox to play in.

Not to put myself on a pedastal but the only people who I'm working with so far is Gheuh2 in terms of future pictures/videos and Lemons in terms of providing Dr.No's Halo 3 Guide as a guide to follow and further support/tips. I haven't recieved any messages for contributions so right now everything that you see is from me alone. I'm definitely going to message NakedEli & MixMaker for some help later down the road, though.

III. Armor Abilities

AutoSentry

  • Autosentries are great for decoys and assistants in the battlefield while holding a defensive position.
  • You are able to self-destruct the AutoSentry once it is deployed. This can damage nearby enemies.
  • I personally DO NOT recommend the AutoSentry on Legendary if there is another Armor Ability available for use.

Just curious, why don't you recommend this? I know most people say it is by far the best AA to use in the campaign. I haven't beat the campaign on leg yet so I really have no opinion to give.

Also, if possible could you add a list of AA ranked for usefulness? You don't really declare which AA is superior over other good choices. I assume most levels won't have all of the said AAs and you'll probably tell us in the guide for levels when to swap out, so if you don't feel its necessary I understand. Thanks in advance! :)

Well, it's not that I don't recommend it. I stated in the Guide that if there's another AA available for use, swap the Sentry out. This is partially because out of my 3 Solo Legendary runs, I didn't find it to be that as others did. This may seem confusing when reading the AA Section of the Guide but when I begin to detail the Missions, it will become much clearer. I will rearrange the order in which I have listed the AA's so that the most useful one will be first. Thanks for the suggestions and if you see any other things within the Guide that I don't detail enough, or that you have a question about, don't hesitate to PM me so I can make the appropriate changes.

Mission Brief: This level level starts with the Master Chief being awakened by Cortana due to some unknown activity aboard the Forward Unto Dawn. Her opening words still resonate about the severed ship: "Wake up, Chief. I need you." Once John is released from his cryotube, he retrieves Cortana's data chip after a short exchange of words and the game begins. Your current objective is to investigate the disturbance on and around the ship on your way to the Observation Deck.

*Do not miss the Magnum that is floating on the floor near your cryotube.

Proceed down the hallway in front of you and be sure to activate the yellow hologram on the control panel to learn of the ship's status.

In this room, turn right and continue do this corridor and you will enter a larger room with a hologram that shows the Dawn being pulled into an unknown planet. During your arrival into this room, some strange beam seems to scan the ship followed by some dialogue:

  • John-117: "What's that?"
  • Cortana: "Sensor scan, high intensity. Doesn't match any known patterns."
  • John-117: "How close are we to the observation deck?"
  • Cortana: "It's directly above us."

Alright, thanks Cortana. Now we know where to go! Exit the room and you will reach an empty elevator lobby. Approach the marked door and open it by tapping the :xbut:.

"Chief, be careful!" Cortana barks, as you begin to pry open the door. Once the door flies open, you will notice the elevator shaft has been depressurized. This causes the Chief to be sucked right out of the elevator lobby. Fortunately, he grabs hold of the wall and avoids being hit by a few crates. Now it's time to climb!

Continue making your way up the elevator shaft. When the Chief looks to the right or to the left, or even up, move the analog stick in that direction to move. Once you reach the top, surprise surprise! A Storm Elite armed with an Energy Sword charges right you. Follow the on-screen button prompt in order to experience a satisfying victory against the Elite.

  • John-117: "I thought we had a truce with the Covenant."
  • Cortana: "A lot can happen in four years. Either way, he's probably not alone. We should be careful."

After dealing with the Elite, you find yourself right outside the Observation Deck. Prepare for your first real firefight of the game.

For this encounter, it is recommend that you ditch the Assault Rifle and swap it for a Plasma Pistol. Hopefully, you still have the Magnum that you found in the beginning of the level.

When you enter the Observation Deck, climb the stairs in front of you and note that there is an Elite working on what seems to be a computer terminal. Crouch to avoid detection and make your way towards him. Assassinate him, and be ready to deal with the Grunts on the lower level. Take them out with quick headshots using the Magnum and try not to expend too much ammo.

Once you have cleared the area, you want to swap your Assault Rifle out for a Plasma Pistol. At the top of staircase where you killed the Elite, there are two Frag Grenades lying in the open. Make sure your Magnum is reloaded and you have a fresh Plasma Pistol before continuing.

  • Cortana: "That's the last of them. Find the override for the blast shields so we can see what we're up against...The good news is these Covenant aren't outfitted like standard military. It's possible we just came across a rogue salvage ship."

Approach the control console that the Elite was working with and hold :xbut: to open the Observation Deck.

When the blast doors open, you will experience quite a dramatic, yet beautiful sight outside the ship. A Covenant fleet is holding position just in front of the Dawn and you can see the mysterious shield world from Halo 3's Legendary ending in the background. As a swarm of Banshees fly towards the windows, they split off, leaving two Covenant Phantoms in your sights.

Prepare for another short firefight. Remember, your loadout at this point should consist of a Magnum and Plasma Pistol.

The Phantoms begin to flank the Observation Deck, shattering the windows on both sides of the room, and deploying a group of four Grunts lead by an Elite.

A great strategy is to stick to one side at a time, instead of attempting to pick both sides off at once from the stairs in the middle of the room. Assuming you choose to deal with the left side first, take out the Grunts first with quick headshots. Switch to your Plasma Pistol and use an Overcharged Shot to drop the Elite's shields. Switch back to the Magnum and finish him off.

--> This method of Overcharging their shields and finishing them off with a headshot will be noted as using the "Noob Combo" from now on.

By this time, the other group of enemies have probably spread out across the room. Don't worry, the Grunts usually move slow and will remain on their side. As for the Elite, take him out first using the Noob Combo. Once he's no longer a threat, pick off the remaining stragglers and relax.

Another method you can use is to toss a Frag Grenade right at the ground where the troops land when coming out of the dropship. This will most likely kill a couple of the Grunts and break the Elite's shields, leaving his vulnerable to a quick headshot.

Get a new Plasma Pistol, restock grenades from the weapon racks, and reload your Magnum.

  • John-117: "We need to get off this ship."
  • Cortana: "We've got bigger problems. We've got a cruiser on an intercept course. Head for the elevator banks."

I tried to bold out some stuff I thought should be ironed out, grammar-wise.

It might be worth mentioning the locations of ammo crates, like in the "first real firefight" area where you assassinate the Elite, multiple crates line up the railings nears the entrance to the room. The crates store have some grenades and assault rifle ammo. I'm not sure about magnum ammo, but there is some in the same room, in the center underneath the platform where most people assassinate the Elite.

Also, I usually try to take out Elites first, because then Grunts tend to flip out and run away(more so on normal and easy difficulty). Just personal preference.

But nothing else from me other than that. Keep at it, and take your time to make sure it's the best you can make it!

I can confirm that the "side" crates do contain Magnum ammo as well. [Looks like this has already been updated]

Are you planning to mention how to skip the last battle at the end of this level?

Just received your PM. Great tip :) I'll test it out and add it in. If you know of anymore sections throughout the Campaign that are skippable, let me know man.

Very nice guide, so far! If I could make a small suggestion? I would remove your signature from the posts in your guide, so that it flows from post to post. I always think a guide looks much better, if it consists of nothing but the guide. :)

I'll definitely be checking this out if I get stuck during the campaign. I've recently learned how to actually perform the "noob combo" effectively, and it was a huge help in ODST, and I imagine CE:A and Reach, too.

Good idea, Callum! Just removed them from the posts that are already complete, I'll do the rest as I get through the Guide. I'm glad the "Noob-Combo" has proven to be effective for you :p It's definitely one of the best combat tips for any Legendary run. Hopefully I will have the Guide complete by weekend!

On Forerunner, the section entitled "Split Path" can actually be sprinted past. Once you exit the door, you can literally run safely in a straight line (directly forward) past the enemies. You can then run into the tunnel (Crawlers are on the wall above it), and sprint straight up the hill into the structure.

I'll have to test it out tonight to make sure it's a safe approach 4 outta 5 times at least. Thanks Echo, keep sending me these tips! They're extremely helpful :)

It's looking fantastic now! :D

It's a great combo, though I do worry about the enemies that I can't use it on. It's proving to be very effective on Reach, so far. The DMR/Needle Rifle with a Plasma Pistol is just an avalanche of destruction!

I'm hoping to finish Reach and CE:A as soon as possible, because I want to save Halo 4 until I've finished every Halo on Legendary (except for Wars, because I don't have the game, and it'll take me a long time to get decent at an RTS. They're my only weakness in gaming...).
